Jessalyn - Leaving Haywood

After a lot of arguing it was decided that Abram would be coming with her. Jess was torn on that front. In a way she glad to have the added eyes and gun, but she was also not very happy about who it was. She knew she shouldn't blame Abram, but in the back of her mind he was the reason she and Floyd got seperated. HE had insisted they leave without Floyd and then HE had been the one to refuse to go back for him. It was something she was going to have to work to get over, but it would take some time.
It wasn't just Abram's fault and she knew that. She also blamed herself for leaving Floyd behind. It was something that ate at her heart every day.

Baby Ben made a gurgling sound and she looked down at her little man. He was the only thing that could make her smile. When she looked at him, she felt her heart heal a bit. Everything she had gone through for him had been worth it the first time she'd held him in her arms. He was her world, but Floyd was her sun, moon and stars. She need him in her life, needed him to be with her and with Ben. In her mind Floyd was the perfect father figure for Ben. He wasn't perfect, but he tried and he had good values. His actions came from a good place. He was a good man. The kind of man she wanted her son to become.

"Shh," she told the baby, pressing a kiss to his forehead. They had only just left Haywood, but you never knew when a stray walker could be wandering around. Jess wondered why Abram had wanted to come with her. It was more dangerous traveling with her now then when she had been pregnant. It was highly likely he would attract walkers. You really couldn't control the sounds a baby made. Maybe he felt responsible for her. He hadn't been himself since Emma had left, perhaps he felt guilty about not being able to keep Daniel's sister with them. But it had been her choice and he couldn't control her.

Katie - Baton Rouge - Tyler/George

When the old man had appeared Katie had run to hide behind her daddy, scared of the gun in his hand. But soon it was clear that he would not hurt them, he even gave them water. Katie was very thirsty and it was hard not to drink more then a few sips. The water felt cool in her empty stomach.

When the old man took out a chocolate bar Katie's mouth nearly started watering. It had been a long time since she'd had chocolate. Her eyes stared at the candy wanting it so badly, but afraid to ask.
Her stomach grumbled again. She slipped her hand into her daddy's, holding tightly and shaking it gently. "Daddy?" she asked in a small voice. "I'm really hungry," she told him in an apologetic voice, as if she was sorry for being hungry.
Heather - Road - Others

Heather narrowed her eyes at DeSean's comment and his laughing. It would no secret that she and Hank did not get along and the reason behind was no secret, but she still did not appreciate joking about it at her expense.

"I'll agree with what makes sense," Heather said pointedly. "There's no reason to go to the coast unless we're sure there is a boat there. Otherwise we might strand ourselves between the walkers and the ocean. I also do not agree with traveling. What I really think we should do is find a place and make a permanent settlement there. Traveling too much and with no real destination is not safe in the long run. Travel wears down the body, makes a person tired and weak. A permanent settlement would provide stability, which is important for survival."

She knew her opinion would not be a popular one, but he had asked for it so she had given it. She turned her head to stare out the window in silence. she had said what she wanted, there was nothing else to add.

DeSean was getting to be a problem. She could recognize the signs. It wouldn't be long before there was a fight for the leadership role. At this point she wasn't sure who should be in charge. She sure as hell didn't want the job, but she didn't know who would be the best. They had survived so long under Hank so she would continue with that for now.
But, in all seriousness, if it came down to a fight between Hank and DeSean, Heather knew she'd side with Hank, if only because despite his faults he was very levelheaded. DeSean flew off the handle too much, jumped to conclusions and did things without really thinking about them. That kind of attitude was dangerous.
She was going to have to say something to Hank about this soon. She didn't want o start trouble, but Hank should be made aware of what was brewing. Maybe he could head it off and stop it before it became a really bad situation.

Lost in thought she didn't even notice they had stopped until she heard Hank's voice talking about the roadblock. DeSean had a point, but so did Hank. She wasn't so much concerned about noise as she was for how much forcing their way through would take out of them. They needed to conserve as much energy as possible, especially since they didn't know how long they would be traveling.

Heather got out of the car just as the decision was made that Hank would lead a small group to scout things about and DeSean would stay behind to protect everyone else. Going to the back of the SUV, Heather opened the trunk area and starting putting a few basic medical supplies in a backpack.
"I'm going with you," she informed Hank. "You'll need a medical person, just in case anything happens."
Her tone told him that she wasn't going to back down from her decision. She loved Aaliyah dearly but the girl was too young and inexperienced to be put in a tense situation that they might encounter, where she would have to work quickly and calmly. Heather was used to it, having worked several years in a high-trauma emergency room. Plus she was not about to send someone she cared about into a life-threatening situation. She would rather do it herself. Aaliyah was a doctor. She had more medical knowledge. She could do more complex procedures. That made her more important then Heather. Heather was expendable.
Katie - Baton Rouge Gas Station - Tyler

They had been traveling a long time. It seemed like every day they were walking, always walking. But whenever she asked where they were going, her daddy had no answer for her.

They had stopped at a gas station that was very dirty and messy. She waited at the door like her daddy told her to. She had meant it when she said she would be good from now on.

Katie wrapped her arms around herself. She hated her daddy being out of her sight for even a few minutes. Ever since they had been reunited she'd had MAJOR seperation anxiety. She didn't go to sleep at night unless she was somehow in contact with him, either his hand on her head or her head on his leg or her hand in his.

But he came out fairly quickly. She hugged him, as was her custom when he returned even if he had only been gone for a second or two.
Then he asked her a funny question.
"My grandmother?" she echoed. She scrunched up her little face trying to remember. She looked sad when she failed. "I don't know Daddy. I'm sorry."
She felt like she had disappointed him by not remembering what he wanted her to. Disappointing him was the last thing she wanted to do. So when her stomach gurgled moments later she didn't say anything. She was actually hungry, but didn't want to bother her daddy. She was tired too, tired from all the walking, but she kept going, just slower then before.
Heather - Camp - Undercurrent

She didn't like it.
There was a sense of trouble in the camp. She tried to tell herself that it was because of the added stress of packing up and moving along with the threat of the horde moving closer, but it was more then that. There was an undercurrent brewing, trouble of some kind.
They couldn't turn on each other. Not now.

Everyone could tell that DeSean did not like Floyd. Heather felt it was jealousy more then anything else. DeSean had been Hank's right hand for so long, he felt that Floyd was a threat to that.
Heather sighed. Hopefully in time DeSean would see that wasn't true. They needed to stay together, now more then ever.

She climbed into the SUV. "All good here!" she called out. She overheard part of DeSean's grumbles about Floyd and Hank. She shook her head. She wasn't even going to get involved in this testosterone induced hissy fit. Even Jennifer was having trouble settling him down.
She guessed it was a good thing he could get through his complaints now, that way he didn't vent them later or worse, act on them.
The only question now was: where were they going?

Baby Benjamin

Isn't he adorable??
Jessalyn - Haywood - Choice

Jessalyn bundled Benjamin up against the chilly air. Using a fleece blanket, she fashioned a sling that went around her back, across her chest and over her shoulder. She slipped her baby boy inside, securing him to her body. It would keep him warm and also leave her hands free. It would also obscure him from view a bit. No need to advertise to anyone she might meet outside Haywood that she had a month old baby.

She had finally made the decision. It had been a month since the attack on Haywood. People were struggling to start over.
Someone was missing from her life.
She had waited long enough for him to come to her.
It was time to go to him.

Picking up the small bag she had packed, Jessalyn took one more look around and took a calming breath. Maybe they would come back after she found him. Maybe not. Either way she needed to say goodbye to the relative safety of Haywood and it's remaining inhabitants. She had no doubt that there would be firm objections to her leaving, but she had made her choice and was going to stick with it.
The man she loved was out there.
She was going to find him.
No matter what.

Outside the building, she made her way towards the rebuilt gate. The only person she really expected to have a problem with was Abram. The guy had become super protective of not just her but everyone in Haywood. It was like since Daniel had died Abram had taken it upon himself to step into Daniel's place and take care of everyone. While she appreciated it, there was no way he was keeping her here. She was prepared to fight him on this, and no one really wanted to mess with a new mother.
Ever since she'd had her baby Jessalyn had become more outspoken and more firm on her thoughts and opinions. No one told her what to do, especially when it came to how she was caring for Ben. The last person who'd tried to tell her she was doing something wrong with her baby had gotten their heads bitten off.

Jess found where a small group of survivors was talking amongst themselves. Well, some were talking others were just there.
"I'm leaving," she announced in a tone that said it was not up for debate. "Floyd is out there and I am done waiting for him. Something has happened that is keeping him from me. I am going to find him."
The Walking Dead - Among the Ruined
Season 3

CURRENTLY ACCEPTING
When hell gets full, the Devil lets the dead walk the earth...

So this is a walking dead style rp. There will be action and gore and zombie killing, but mostly this will be about the twists and turns, the drama, the heartache and the joy of moral decisions that have both good and bad consequences.
Everything you do and say will have consequences further down the line. The walker you killed yesterday was actually the mother of the person you met today. That guy you refused to give food? He came back as a walker and killed your best friend. That little boy you helped? He came back with a large group to steal your supplies. Each choice is life and death. Don't ever get too comfortable, because you never know when things will go to hell.
Of course... it's already there...

Wow... I can hardly believe we are in our third season of this rp. Those who have stuck with me to this point : I love all of you so much. You are the best rp group I have ever had. Here's to many more seasons!
Those who are joining now : thank you for becoming a part of this. I hope you enjoy it as much as we have.
The next post will contain a summary of everything that has happened so far in seasons 1 and 2, along with character lists including NPCs.

Rules :
1. No fighting in the OOC or Chat. I mean it. You get one warning, then your characters gets killed off and you are banned from the rp.
2. No overpowered characters. It's okay to have weapons, but not everyone is survival trained and can make a rocket launcher with a pocket knife, some string and a potato. Be realistic with your characters skills and their weapons.
3. An extension of the above rule-- We won't be accepting more characters with military backgrounds. Characters with medical backgrounds will likely be asked to change as well. To avoid any conflicts it's best that you plan on your character having just being a regular person before the apocalypse hit. Stray from creating characters that have a particularly firearms-related background (Like someone who grew up hunting and is a skilled marksman).
4. Gore is fine, but romance (if there is any during a zombie apocalypse) goes to PM. Anything above kissing goes to PM.
5. Killing of characters must be agreed upon, even NPCs. NPCs without a * next to their name are free to be moved around/controlled, required that their written personality/history is adhered to.
6. All ideas are welcome! If you have any ideas for major plot-related ideas, characters. locations, etc. then please PM either myself or my Co-GM(s).
7. Before making any game changing decisions please pm me to ask or discuss it in the OOC before posting it. This does not mean I need to make every decision for you, but MAJOR plot twists need to be approved by either me or my Co-GM(s).
8. You can have as many characters as you can handle. Do not ignore anyone and post regularly. If you can't post for a couple of days, let us know so we can move around your character. If you do not post in the IC or OOC or PM us for a significant amount of time, then your character will be made an NPC and likely become a walker. If you want to return after that, you can make another character.
9. In that same vein, if you've been in the rp for some time and decide you want to go, the option for your character to become an NPC is there in case you ever return. Though NPCs are more likely to be killed off, the character just may be alive when you come back.
10. People will die. It's a zombie survival rp. We ask that you strongly consider ideas for your character's death eventually, even if you don't really wish for them to die. While we will never kill off your character without your consent, no one is likely to survive forever in zombie fiction. Just keep the idea in mind when making your sheet.
11. It might seem strange to have this rule but I have run into problems with this in the past so I am going to say it right off : NO ONE IS IMMUNE. This is not "The Last of Us" this is a "The Walking Dead" rp. There is no cure and there is no immunity to the zombie virus. Everyone already has it. Your character can be working on a cure, but that is all.
12. I reserve the right to add more rules if needed.

CS:

Appearance : (please no anime pics. portraits are fine as long as they are realistic)
Name :
Age :
Skill : (are you good at medicine? cooking? electronics? hunting? marksman? these can be skills acquired after the outbreak)
Preferred Weapons (up to three) : (anything you can realistically have)
Personality : (good and bad points)
Brief Bio : (we are not going to know much about each other at first so only a brief history, such as what they were doing before the outbreak, is fine)

Alright Season 2 is officially over!

Going to start Season 3 now!

-RP is Closed-
Katie - Somewhere - Tyler

Katie could hardly believe it was true. Her daddy was here, holding her. He had come back to her.
He talked about who he missed, the people that had been hurt and those that were gone forever. But all Katie could think of was the last time she had seen him.
"Daddy...?" she asked, her voice barely above a whisper, her throat hurting from all the crying she had done. "I'm s-sorry," she stammered, her breath hitching a bit as she spoke. "I didn't mean to b-be bad. I'll never be bad again. P-please don't go away again."
She hugged him tightly as she begged. "Don't ever g-go away again. Never ever. Promise."

She had always thought that it was her fault he had gone away for so long. Because she had made him mad and he had yelled at her. She had been naughty, but she would never be naughty again. She would always listen and do what she was told.
"I'll never be bad again," she repeated, shaking and shivering in his arms. "I p-promise. Never go away again. I need you. I love you Daddy."
Jessalyn - Haywood - Others

Jess didn't have much time to marvel over her baby. Minutes later they were alerted to the presence of crawlers. The stranger was trying to get away from one that was going after him. Jess felt a wave of guilt wash over her. With all of her screaming during the labor she probably attracted the walkers and crawlers.
"Help him!" she exclaimed to the doctor as Audrey helped her up. Her legs were weak and she felt exhausted, but cuddled her baby close. He started to cry. She pressed his face gently to her neck, trying to muffle the cries.

While the doctor helped the stranger, Audrey helped Jess outside the building. They spotted a bunch of people gathered around outside. The two women were terrified to discover who had been lost in the attack.
"Hey!" Audrey called. "We need help! There are crawlers in here! Jessalyn had her baby!"
Jess tried to smile as people came up to them. Several of the men rushed inside to deal with the crawlers there while others gathered around Jess to see the new life in her arms. He had stopped crying by then and his little eyes had closed. His tiny fists were clenched and up by his face, looking like a tiny boxer about to enter the arena.

"Everyone," she said, her exhaustion showing in her voice as she struggled to stand. "Meet my son... Benjamin..."
Heather - Camp - Decision

The man was not comfortable with her it seemed. Well that just seemed typical of her track record didn't it?
When the stranger, who said his name was Floyd, claimed to be fine Heather didn't push the issue. "Okay," she said, backing away to give him space. "If you have any pain just let me or Aaliyah, the camp doctor, know and we can give you something for it."

With that she stood back and listened to what Hank told the man without interrupting. Despite her issues with Hank he was still the unofficial leader of their camp. She didn't disrespect him around newcomers. She was actually very proud of him by the end of it. He was very calm and understanding and kind, offering the man a place with them should he decide he wanted it.
While DeSean was quite unwelcoming, and Heather nudged him in the side and gave him a look for his attitude, the man Floyd seemed to agree that he needed to stay put for the time being. And they could always use more hands in the camp that were strong and could protect from the walkers or any other threats that might appear.

They left Floyd in the tent and went outside to the campfire. It was time to make a group decision. They always talked and agreed on everything that happened. It was part of what made them such a strong and unified group. No one made the final decision. It was equally made by all of them. They all took equal parts in joy and sorrow.
That made them more then a group. It made them a family.
Now they had to decide whether or not to accept a new member to their family.

When he was done talking Hank asked everyone for their thoughts. Heather, having spent the most time with the stranger, spoke first.
"Regardless whether he stays or not, he needs help right now. We wouldn't be the kind of people we think we are if we turned him away now. I vote we let him stay as long as he wants to. We could always use more manpower. We can't ignore that he looks strong and capable. He could help us a lot. He doesn't strike me as a bad person. I may be wrong, but I am going with my gut instinct here. I believe we can trust him."

It felt strange, siding with Hank for once. The others in the group seemed just as surprised as she was.
Maybe... just maybe... they could still have a decent relationship despite everything.

As with all things, time would tell.
