Maria - Apartment - Eva/Tony

Things started to happen so quickly. It all seemed far away, like it was happening to someone else. Voices were distant and her vision was foggy. She laughed, actually laughed when her supplier accused her of sleeping with Eva. "Don't be a fucking retard," she snapped and tried to stand up. "I already paid for the stuff I got earlier. I don't want any more. So get out."

Things took a dangerous turn, to a place she never wanted to go. She saw Eva get nearly attacked by the raving lunatic, demanding triple the amount. "Tonto loco! Qué demonios?! Tócala otra vez y voy a patear el culo pastosa!" she snarled, throwing an empty bottle at the guy but missing completely.

She grabbed her head as it spun and the next thing she knew the guy was gone and Eva was beating the shit out of her. Maria let her do it. She was winding down from her high and didn't have the energy to fight back.
Thankfully Tony stopped the woman from beating her, but the relief soon turned cold. The princesca went to her knight, crying and blaming Maria for everything. If she had just let her handle it from the beginning...
Maria grew angry as she tried to sit up, the medicine hitting her shoulder and causing her to fall back again.

"¿Qué demonios estás haciendo aquí entonces?!" she said before switching to English so they would understand. "What the hell are you here for then?! If you want to keep your princesca away from dirty people like me then you shouldn't have come! Let him come and kill me! I don't give a fuck and it sure as hell is apparent you don't either anymore! All you care about is her!" she said, pointing an accusing finger at Eva. "Ever since you met her no one is good enough for you anymore! Go away then! Run away and screw your princesca and forget all about the filthy latina! Go!"

Her screams followed then down the hall as they left. Lurching to her feet, Maria started throwing things once again, breaking whatever there was left to break, which wasn't much.
Stupid Tony!
Stupid, stupid princesca bitch!

The rage led to tears which led to intense sorrow. Maria crumpled into a ball and cried, sobbing loudly.
She had lost him.

No... he had been stolen from her.
And she was powerless to stop it.
She had lost. The princesa had used her tears and had won.
Why had she ever thought he could see anything in her? She was the dirty street urchin besides a golden angel.

Fix it? He wanted her to fix it? It made her want to laugh. What was there to fix? She had already paid the lunatic dealer. He was just crazy and trying to get more money from her.

Fix it.
Right.
Fine. Then that is what she would do.
-
It took her over two hours to get everything together. What little she had left that wasn't destroyed fit into a duffel bag. Then came the phone calls.
First call was the hardest. To the Florence.
No one answered so she left a message.

"Harry? Isabel? It's Maria. Listen, I know I've been a bitch the last few days but good news, you don't have to worry about it anymore. Long story short is I fucked up. Big time. As in 'no apology can fix it' fucked up. So I am going to save you and Tony the trouble of kicking me out. I'm leaving. You won't have to see or hear from me ever again."
She paused for a moment, her voice breaking a bit. "Damn it," she said, her voice cracking as she tried to keep it together. "For what it's worth," she managed to get out. "I'm sorry."

She hung up after that.
Tony and the Angels were the only ties she had to this place. Now both were severed forever. And it was her fucking fault. She had managed to ruin things yet again. No one in their right mind would ever want her around. Maybe she should just find people who were just as fucked up as she was. Maybe then she would finally find a place to truly belong.

The next step was to pull all the money she had from the bank and close the account. Then she shut down her cellphone service and tossed the phone to the pavement. When you were disappearing you didn't need a way for people to contact you. If anyone wanted to that is.
Next came shredding her IDs except for her driver's license and that was only until she could get a new one.
Finally she set about tracking down the lunatic dealer. Didn't take long to find one of his friends and with the mood Maria was in it didn't take very much bodily harm before he agreed to take her to the boss.
-
He led her to an old warehouse that looked like it was dealing in recycling paper, but it was obviously a front. She found the boss upstairs in the office.
"And what can I do for you chica?" he asked, his eyes running over her with interest.
Maria slammed her hands down onto his desk. "Look, I'm coming down off of a high and am not in the mood for any shit. If you can't keep a tighter rein on your dealers then you need to not have them at all."
"What are you talking about?" he asked, obviously irritated at her attitude.
"I'm talking about your boy Marvin coming to my place and trashing it, plus harming a bystander," Maria informed him. "He claimed to be looking for money for you. I bought my hit from him but I paid for it in full up front. I didn't ask the idiota to come back to my place with more, but he showed up. When I said I didn't want any more he shot up my place and attacked a nurse who was there trying to help me down off of my high."
"Marvin?" the boss asked, his brows furrowing together. "Why the hell would he do all of that if you didn't owe him money?"
"I'll tell you why, because he was high himself at the time," Maria told him. "I'm guessing your boy is using the product and then forcing people to pay more in order to cover his ass. He threatened to kill me if I didn't have triple what I paid him by tomorrow."
The boss's face turned an interesting shade of red. "And why should I believe you? You could just be a bitch who is trying to get out of paying your tab."
Maria shrugged. "Check his sales out if you don't believe me. Check on his customers, see how many hospital visits they've had the past few months. Have one of you lackeys follow him. I just don't appreciate all of the attention I got from my neighbors. If I hadn't cleared out of there the cops would have been on me and it wouldn't be long before they caught Marvin and then found their way back to you. And you better pray it's the cops and not The Fallen Angels that find Marvin first."
His face got almost purple as he realised she was right. "Get the hell out," he snarled, reaching for his phone. "Keep your mouth shut and consider our business closed."
"Pleasure," Maria snapped before leaving.

As she left the place the weight of her anger disappaited, leaving only a hollow feeling in her core. She had nothing now. She had been in this position before, losing everything, but this time hurt so much worse then the last.

Harry and Isabel would never forgive her. Neither would Tony.
Tony... he would be happy she had disappeared. Him and his princesca could live their fairytale in peace now, no street urchin to mar the beauty.

The question was... where to go now?
-
In the end, Maria decided to just start walking. She had to pass through town to get the the highway. From there she could hitchhike to wherever.
Her stomach had other plans. The smell of food and the sign of DJ's Diner made her stomach growl loudly. DJ's... she had spent a lot of time in there with various members of the Angels... a lot of time with Tony...
They had the best burgers in town. Old fashioned ones that were big and greasy and came with a large pickle on the side.
Maria went inside and sat in a booth. She'd have one for old times sake, a memory to carry with her down the road.

She ordered a large cheeseburger and fries with a large pickle on the side. The waitress noticed the marks on her face from Eva's beating but didn't say anything. Maria almost ordered a beer but changed her mind, going with a coke instead.
While she waited for her food she sat and stared at the table, replaying the last hours in her mind and for the first time in a long time she found herself praying. She prayed to a God she wasn't even sure she believed in anymore to please make this all a bad dream.
Danielle - Tommie's - Thomas

Danielle looked away when Thomas started talking about her far ID's. "That's my business," she muttered, not looking him in the eye. He had never asked questions about her past before. She just assumed he didn't care and that was just fine with her.
"I can handle whatever you can old man," she said with a smirk to let him know she was kidding, at least about the 'old man' crack. "I'm not a little girl you know. I can take care of myself."
And it was true. Dani hadn't been a little girl in a long time.

She followed him back inside and started waiting on people again, helping Charlie with everything. When her break came she sat in the back and sketched on a piece of scrap paper. She drew a not very flattering caricature of Bertinelli, then cartoonish ones of Lancaster and Charlie. Danielle loved to doodle. She had never had lessons, just copied the styles of different cartoonists that she liked.
Maria - Apartment - Eva

Maria came out of the haze slightly. She managed to open her eyes. What she saw was enough to make her wish she hadn't.
"oh maravillosa la princesa está aquí," she groaned. She rolled over on the couch, away from the woman. "Go away princesa," she said. "If I'm going to hallucinate I'd rather it be Chris Hemsworth in a towel."

Maria yawned and reached, her fingers moving trying to feel for the bottle. "... the hell is my tequila?" she muttered, rolling back over and trying to get up only to fall on her ass on the floor. A stream of Spanish curses spilled from her mouth but they were slurred. She looked up and blinked, staring at Eva bleary eyed. "I said go away princesa. Go back to your castle with your frog-prince."
Before the mouth could reach her an arrow came flying out of nowhere, lodging into it's eye and embedding itself in it's brain. The creature staggered back with a howl of pain before crashing to the ground dead.
A hooded figure came from the cover of some rocks, her bow distinctive enough for them to recognize her.

Sarina had been knocked farther away then the others. She had come to and heard her comrades battling. She had been working the parimeter, taking out trying to see just what and how much they were up against. She had arrived just in time to see the chimera about to snack on Calista. Her reaction had been instant. Sarina wasn't particularly close to anyone in the group, but they were still her comrades for this quest. Hence they deserved her protection. Honor prevented Sarina from leaving them to their fate.

"We have to find better cover. There are more of these creatures around," she said, jerking her arrow out of the chimera's corpse. Her clothes became splattered with the creature's blood. "Where is Kito?" she asked her companions, notching an arrow into her bow, ready to attack again if they were ambushed.
Jessalyn - Road - Abram, Leah, Samantha

Benjamin immediately started crying. Jess hugged him close, cooing gentle words of comfort. While he stopped screaming he still whimpered and large tears continued to pour down his little cheeks. Jess cuddled him, rocking him gently as she faced the new threat. It turned out to be not a threat at all. It was another young girl. They seemed to be a lot of young girls wandering around by themselves.

"I'm Jessalyn," she said to the two newcomers. "This is Ben," she said, lifting her arms a bit for them to see her son. "He's only a month and a half old. Who are you?" she asked.
The rain was still falling which made Ben voice his displeasure at getting wet with an angry little yowl. Jessalyn bounced him. "I need to move off of the road, under some cover," she said to Abram and moved underneath some trees on the side of the road. Ben blubbered and fuss. Jess wiped off his face and reached into her bag to find something dry to dry him off with.

Katie - above the bar - several people

Katie looked at her daddy for approval before taking the man's hand and letting him lead her into the kitchen. The one man, Jace, looked scary to her, but Caleb looked nice as did the old lady and Tina.

Once they got some baby formula into the syringe Katie sat down and fed her kitten. "I haven't named him yet," she explained, focusing all of her attention on feeding him.
Everyone was talking and laughing and seemed nice. Katie's stomach growled loudly. She was really really hungry. Once her kitten was fed he yawned and fell asleep. She cuddled him against her and followed Caleb out of the kitchen.

"Excuse me?" she said quietly, hating that she was interupting them. She cleared her throat when everyone looked at her, blushing quite a bit at having everyone's attention on her. "I'm... r-really hungry," she said, stammering a little. "C-can I pl-ease have..." that was when she realized her daddy wasn't there. "Daddy...?" she said, her face going pale and her eyes widening in terror. "Daddy!" she screamed, making the kitten scrambled out of her arms and run under a chair. "Daddy, don't leave me!" the little girl cried, tears welling up in her eyes. "Where is my daddy?!"
Katie - Baton Rouge - Tyler and others

Things happened so fast Katie didn't know what to say or do so she kept quiet. People were talking and shouting so she just cuddled her kitten and tried to keep her daddy in sight at all times.
She didn't like Adam. He looked funny, like something was wrong with him. And he called her daddy by the wrong name.

She stood near Jacob and Liam, since they were kids like her. They found a new girl who made her think of Emma.
Where was Emma now? Katie missed her an awful lot. She missed talking to her and how Emma used to tuck her in at night.

While everyone was talking Katie's stomch growled. She was hungry, and thirsty. The seven year old bit her lip. When her daddy got down to ask her what she wanted to do, she hugged his neck.
"Daddy?" she said in a loud whisper. "I'm hungry."
She didn't say it in a whiny or complaining voice, just stating a fact. She said it almost apologetically, like she was sorry for being hungry.
She looked at Adam and her eyes widened. "He scares me," she told her daddy. She knew her daddy would never let anything hurt her, but Adam still made her uncomfortable. "He looks funny." By that she meant he was acting funny. Katie didn't know what drugs were or what being 'high' meant so to her Adam was just acting strange and that made her nervous. She saw Adam looking at her and shied away, trying to make herself smaller against her daddy's side.

Her kitten needed food and she wanted food. She didin't know what to do. She wasn't used to making decisions.
"I want to stay with you," she said, clutching Tyler's arm. "You're not leaving me, right?" she asked fearfully. "Don't ever go away again."
Danielle - alley behind Tommie's - Thomas

Danielle has been taking some garbage out when she heard the voices. Making sure she stayed hidden around the corner, she used her well-developed talent of eavesdropping.
She heard the whole deal go down with Bertinelli. Thomas was actually going to do something this big? Of course it didn't surprise her that he would, the part that surprised her was that he was doing it for Bertinelli of all people. Money really did talk.

Once Bertinelli left she squared her shoulders and came out from her hiding place. "Hi Thomas," she said innocently, then cocked her head after Bertinelli. The corner of her mouth turned up in a small smile. "Sounds like a lot of fun," she commented, letting him know she had heard everything. She lifted her chin and put her shoulders back. "I can help. I can do a lot of stuff. I'm a great actress, a fairly good lock-pick and an excellent pick-pocket. What do you say? Give me a shot?"

She realized she was revealing things she hadn't told Thomas before. He didn't know anything about her past and this was bound to make him start to ask more questions, but she was bored always working at the bar. Plus she wanted to prove herself valuable. When you were valuable to people they wanted to keep you around.
Maria - The Florence/alley/her apartment

Maria smoked as she waited, glancing at her watch and swearing repeatedly under her breath. The longer she stayed out here the more risk there was that she was going to be caught. The last thing she needed was for Harry to find her buying drugs. The Fallen Angels hated drugs in their city, but hey technically she wasn't a member of the Angels. Plus Harry wasn't her father so he could kiss her tight caramel ass.

Finally the seller came around the corner. Needless to say he was highly nervous about making a sell behind The Florence. But money talked and she got what she wanted and he quickly disappeared like the rat he was.

Maria closed her hand around the small packet in her hand. It wasn't much, but it would be enough to make her numb to reality for a while. And if she mixed it with some tequila...
Yes she knew what she was doing was dangerous. But honestly, she didn't really care. No one particularly cared about her. She had never really belonged in a group. She had tried to belong in the Fallen Angels, but that obviously was not going to happen. Maria had hoped that maybe she could belong with the guy who had become one of her best friends, but now that was shot to hell too. And the moron didn't even realize. He was too caught up in a fairytale romance with the princess to notice a punta like her in the background.
She was like the moon and the princessa was like the sun : when the sun is out, the moon is invisible.

Maria felt the blackness taking over her heart, squeezing it tightly. She shoved the packet in her pocket and stomped on her cigarette. Time to play sick.

--

It didn't take much to convince Jasmine. She was a sweet person who was automatically concerned and insisted Maria go home. And after stopping off for a bottle of tequlia she went straight there.

Slamming the door shut, she threw on the dead bolt and tossed her jacket aside. Her apartment was a mess, but she didn't feel like cleaning it. She felt like crashing. So that was what she did.

So we reached $600

far from the $6000 we needed

so, in summary, I have failed. My friend Karina is going to die in a few short months.

Thank you to everyone who tried to help.
Katie - motel - Tyler, others

Katie walked slowly with her daddy. The streets were really quiet. She hated quiet. It meant something bad would probably happen.
They had a small group now. Katie wasn't sure how she felt about that. She liked being just her and her daddy. That way no one had the chance to hurt them. And she didn't get attacked to anyone who would die. Like Lauren.
When she closed her eyes sometimes, she could still see Lauren's face explode. It was what gave her nightmares and made her cry at night. But her daddy was always there to hold her and make the nightmares go away for a little while.

Katie also held her kitten close. The new boy, Liam, worried her. He was close to her age but he acted... funny. Like there was something wrong with him. It made her nervous. Could she trust him to not hurt her or her kitten? Could she trust him not to get sick and die?

They went through the motel, killing sick people as they went. Katie was sad for them. They had been people once, just like her mommy and big brother before they had gotten sick and become monsters.

But then they met someone who was not sick, but still acted strange. And he seemed to know her daddy but called him by the wrong name. Katie looked up at her daddy wide-eyed. When the man said something about kids she gasped a little and backed away, hiding behind her daddy's legs.
Jessalyn - Road - Abram, Leah, Turisa

Jess watched as Abram went towards a young girl. She looked hurt. The motherly part of Jess immediately wanted to race over and comfort her but they needed to be safe. She kept an eye out for anything coming their way while Abram checked her out then led her over.

She smiled and adjusted Ben on her shoulder in order to hold out her hand to the girl. "Hi there Leah. I'm glad we came along and met you. Abram will take good care of your leg. He's a good guy."

She would have said more but the car came out of no where right then. Abram helped Leah off of the road but the car was speeding too fast plus it was weaving. Jess tried to race off the road only to have the car weave in her direction. Jess screamed and covered Ben, trying to protect him with her body.
The car swerved at the last second, avoiding Jess and Ben. The tires squealed as the person slammed on the brakes and screeched to a stop a few yards up the road.
Ben started screaming at the loud noise and bad smell of burning rubber. Jess cuddled and tried to quiet him.
"Abram!" she cried.
