Yes, since children are innocents Esme could help them find peace.
Chance had led the two blood covered people inside the tent, not caring about the third. The man was for her. She liked seducing men before eating them. It gave their flesh such an interesting flavor it nearly got her off as much as them. The girl was for Kodama, because the clowns were partners and looked after each other.
She took out the girl first, doing a handstand and wrapping her legs around the woman's head and falling backward, bodyslamming her into the ground and knocking her out. Kodama could finish her off however he wanted.
The man whirled around. "What the hell?"
"Now we have privacy," Chance said, bouncing over and wrapping her arms around his neck.
"You're fucking crazy!" he shouted, pushing away from her.
Chance made a pouting face. "That's mean!" she exclaimed and looked back at Kodama. "He's being mean to me Koko!" she accused and looked back. "If you can't say something nice..." she said and the man screamed as her eyes glowed bright orange and her teeth sharpened. "... then die." she finished, her voice deeper and demonic.
Blood spurted everywhere as she ripped his neck open. He gurgled and struggled to get away. Chance shoved him to the ground and began feeding, ripping him to pieces.
She was in the middle of eating when interrupted. It was Hag. She snarled like an animal, hissing and growling in warning for him not to take away her meal. She dragged the remains of the man away, getting into a crouch ready to protect her food.
When she was in this state Chance was more like an animal then a person.
Esme nodded. "Thank you. I hope I can fit in here."
She liked Mina so far. She seemed nice. It would help if she had a friend here.
Hag disappeared moments later and Esme fought the surge of panic at his absence. Instead she looked at Mina and nodded. "I'd like to watch you."
She actually was interested, after her brother had praised the girl's abilities so much.
Esme heard the scream of someone else dying and winced, shivering a bit. "Do you ever get used to it?" she asked Mina. "The screaming... and the dying...?"
Oh I know that child was captured. I mean any other child that gets killed. I was thinking Esme could make a special lantern or another kind of container to keep the souls of children in.
And maybe Esme could negotiate with Baba for the soul of the child she captured.
aww she sounds so sweet. Her and Esme should get along well.
Also I had an idea with Esme : she could collect all of the souls of children that are killed at the carnival (like with Baba and Vol) and keep the safe until they are able to move on to the afterlife.
If that won't work or if anyone doesn't like that idea it's okay. Just something that came to me today when I was thinking about the rp.
Esme felt a strange sensation. She looked behind her, a thoughtful frown on her face.
Was that... a child crying?
It sounded faint, like an echo, but it was there. She was about to ask Hag if he heard it but it faded a moment later. When she turned back around Hag was introducing her to someone. It was a very pretty girl.
Esme smiled and nodded to the girl. "It's nice to meet you. I really hope I can fit in here."
Chance squealed excitedly and gave the dagger a lick. The blood tasted exotic, a mixture of snake and Kodama blood.
"Yummy!" she said, twirling around. She stopped when she spotted the three people who got blood on them. "Oh," she said in a regretful voice. "Look. They got all messy. Silly Billys," she said, taking the hand of one of them, a woman, and another who was a man. "Come on, we can go to Kodama's tent and you can get clean."
Her eye's flashed orange and her stomach growled as she led them towards the tent.
Chance giggled when the snake bit Kodama, drawing blood.
"Oh it's so pretty!" she said. "Drip, drop, drip, drop!" she said in her sing-song voice. "Pretty ruby red blood!"
People edged away, looking horrified and disgusting with the two clowns.
Chance noticed Vol watching and giggled at his wink. She shook her bottom at him and licked her lips. Now that was a prime cut man. She wondered absently what his blood looked like...

Her attention was brought back to the crowd when a young man caught her attention. He was eyeing her with a measure of fear and lust. Chance grinned and skipped over to him, wrapping her arms around his neck and jumping up to wrap her legs around his waist. "You got something for me big boy?" she asked.
The boy chuckled nervously. Chance laughed and let go of his neck, tightening her legs around his waist and bent over, placing her hands on the ground. "I'm very flexible," she said. "Want me to show you just how flexible I can be?" she asked suggestively.
She unwrapped her legs and flipped over and over until she reached Kodama once again, leaning against his shoulder. Pressing a kiss to the snake, she stuck out her tongue and wiggled it a few times before giggling some more.
"When do we eat Kodama? I'm getting hungry," she said, her eyes flashing orange for a moment and her tongue moving over her teeth.
Esme held on to her brother's hand tightly, almost afraid she was going to lose him. The crowd was starting to thin. Either they were at shows or perhaps they were leaving.

She wondered about the job he had given her. His assistant. It seemed fitting. She wanted to help. She wanted to be useful. But she couldn't help but feel that she had already disappointed him in some way. Given time maybe she would figure it out and not do it again.

She heard the noise of animals coming from one of the tents. She cocked her head, curious, but didn't stray from Hag. She wondered if she would ever feel comfortable enough to walk without Hag.

Esme wondered where Mortimer was. So far he had been the only member of the carnival other then Hag that she had met. She wasn't exactly looking forward to meeting the clowns.
"Who should I meet first?" she asked. "After we meet everyone, may I lay down?"
She was sure ghosts didn't need sleep, but laying down sounded good. Laying down on a bed somewhere quiet, where she could rest...
oh he sounds interesting :) can't wait to start this.
I'm sorry I forgot. :( yeah you can go ahead. I'm at work so I can't reply right now. You can even take over her for a little bit if you want. If you want to go ahead with their show. Her CS has her ability and you can tell her personality from my previous posts. I'm working all day and will not be on til later tonight. I don't want to hold anyone up. All I ask is that you don't do anything too drastic with her without my permission.
The same applies to Mortimer with Esme.
oh come on people! I really want to play Arysta and Lyra!!
Esme was completely stunned at his words. He had gone from being cruel and dismissing her to loving her. She had thought it was just the love of a brother and sister, but it seemed to be more now. How was she supposed to answer him? She didn't want to upset him, but she also wasn't sure how she felt. She loved him yes, but she wasn't sure if she loved him the way he seemed to love her.
But one thing was certain.
"I want your love and approval," Esme confessed, hugging him and laying her head on his shoulder. "I'll do whatever you wish of me my brother."
And really that was all that mattered, wasn't it? If he was happy, then she was happy.
Plus he was the first man to ever say she was beautiful, to ever kiss her and hold her, to express any interest in her as a woman. Perhaps this was meant to be.

She smiled. "I hope everyone else likes me. I wouldn't want to cause problems between you and your family. I can't wait to meet-" she was cut off by a scream of agony. She winced, closing her eyes tightly until the scream faded. She had to get used to hearing things like that from now on. As long as she wasn't the one harming them, why should she care?
"What will be my role in the carnival?" she asked. "I want to be useful and make you proud Hag."
