Upon seeing Cody slipping through the shield, Ruslan tries to get past it too. No one knows what can get through this and what can't, so let's just try, he thought. However, he seems to hit something when he didn't expect one, akin to people hitting glass walls when they think the walls weren't there. In that second he knows he cannot get through the shield and has to get around it. He then walks away from it, heading to reach the building from the opposite side.

For the moment, that is the right decision, because seconds after that, the attackers start firing on the location where Ruslan made the contact with the shield. Apparently whoever deployed the shield knows about his contact with the shield and relayed the information to the rest of the attackers. Although he cannot do what Cody did, at least the opening of the tunnel isn't fired at, and even if it's fired at, he can now help stop the bullets; while at the tunnels, he can't stop them because he can't look at them.

After saying his prayers, Ruslan turns invisible and tries his luck. "I'm going out to try breaking the deadlock, now hold onto someone else," he told Katherin as he goes out and tries to follow Cody, trying to inform Cody of the shielder's location and take down the shielder. Upon getting out, fortunately he isn't getting shot at, at least not yet. He then looks around, and discovers that to reach the building Katherin referred to, he has to walk past a roadblock.

As soon as the first gunshot was heard, Ruslan gets down. He wishes he was any good with guns, but he isn't. And with the adversary continously firing at them, he can't just come out and take the adversaries one by one. He starts worrying that these are just suppression fire; shots that are meant to prevent the team's movement buy time until the real 'executors' can come close to them and finish them off.

How could Katherin miss the secret passage? Wasn't she holding Ruslan's hand, or did I miss something?

Ruslan looks back for one more time, making sure everyone has made the right turn toward the secret passage before telekinetically pulling the lever back, closing the passage. He focuses back towards what's in front of him, but is blinded for a while as he sees light at the end of the tunnel.

Ruslan was a bit surprised when the team turns toward a direction he didn't expect. It turns out that the tunnels have a lot of secret passages. The tunnel has more exits than anyone can think of, and 'anyone' includes himself. Knowing that he will walk through territories his mind hasn't charted yet, he stops walking backwards, although he still takes a look back quite often.

Ruslan couldn't agree more with Liz's sentence. Roxy is indeed the team's navigator right now, and the team can't go on a regular vehicle anymore with about a dozen people going. But he just can't imagine them driving a bus or troop transport vehicle under pursuit, that puts them at significant disadvantage. Meanwhile, the pursuers start to move into the tunnels, but as soon as they look at the team, Ruslan pushes them back. He knows he can't keep holding them that way though, for there are more of them coming.

Ruslan tries to hide his reactions to Katherin's smile. He can understand if Katherin considers him important to her, but any extra feeling should not develop; it may be detrimental to their effectivity as a team.

With the team consisting of those who face the exit and those who face away from the exit, and with him being in the latter group, he puts his trust on those who face the exit. "Any idea where and how to go?"

Ruslan slowly walks backwards along the tunnels. After a while, he passes through Liz, who appears to be tying someone. "Who's that guy and what are you doing?" he asks. It took him a few seconds before he realizes that Katherin is without a guide, and took her hand.
