And don't worry, no one will die...in the First Test. And after all, it's not like anything else could happen that's worse than dying, bwahahaha.

...

But, yeah, people will be relatively fine, but where it's relative from, who boy. We'll start the fights soon, we maybe have 'em strike right when people partner up, or we may pick one person as the unlucky one to get attacked, and see if their partner can come and assist. But while I say you guys won't die, doesn't mean if your character does something stupid or leaves a huge opening, that we won't take advantage of that, so be careful. :P

And, yeah, Asuras, post Lyn, like, nao.
Yep, sur-r-r-rprii-i-i-ise. :P Hum, I was gonna have Naomi meet up with the Jerks first, to do something cool to cement them as actually credible threats before Naomi goes with her team, bu-u-ut I might include Pascale in their thingie as well. It might be easier to partner them up first, and mehbeh Pascale agrees to help her meet up with her friends or something. :P
Morella Cinder

Morella jumped back as the hold began to fall, waiting to see how the other students would react Some of them were relatively calm, moving with purpose to the exit without going crazy, though a good majority of them were in a bit of a frenzy. They were soon getting control of themselves, though, and in the partial lull, Morella took the chance to move to the exit.

She trusted Tarkus to take care of himself, nodding at his remark to her, as she ground her boot on the floor. The Dust cylinders in the boots spun, as the power lines glowed light blue. She could’ve started spinning them just by using her Dust reserves, but this method saved a small amount, and who knows how much she’d need. She jumped to the wall and tapped her foot on the metal.

DASH GATE – 2 STEP

Below Morella, parallel to the wall, appeared a large circle, white, with an ornate arrow made of criss-crossing lines converging. She shot off the wall, above the crowd escaping from the back end of the hold, as another circle appeared above them. When Morella hit that Gate, she shot out the door, leaping above the students jumping out, as she streamlined into a freefall.

She barely squinted against the rushing air that whipped her hair around, partially shielding her face with her hand. She looked around, as bodies flew in various directions. She spotted a clearing a little ways from the forest, and flipped in midair to ready herself. Her boots light hadn’t faded yet, as Morella kicked downwards in front of her.

JUMP GATE –3 STEP

Below her, and in a diagonal line down from her, the round circles of light appeared again, but this time the lines looked like they were moving out from the center. She hit the first Gate, which sent her bouncing forward through the air, falling a bit before she hit the second. She could set about three gates per kick, and though she could kick more to summon several more, they wouldn’t last till she got to the bottom. So setting three gates at a time suited her just fine.

She flew threw the air, gracefully leaping from gate to gate. It took nine for her to reach the clearing, not a substantial amount of Dust wasted, but it was borderline significant. She touched down lightly, quickly getting a bearing on her surroundings. She retied her hair back into a tight ponytail as she looked around, not seeing anyone readily there. She checked her watch, seeing several dots of students flying in an out of her range. However, she saw a cave entrance near on her map, no doubt with some sort of Grimm within. She debated with herself, they didn’t have any readings on caches until they got to a partner, where their watches would automatically sync, but Morella wasn’t sure if she really needed a partner as of yet.

If I can get my hands on a cache myself, they might allow me to go at it solo, it’d be easier for my training if I didn’t have to worry about anyone else… she thought. Even if there wasn’t a cache nearby, she was sure they’d have put caches in some of the places underground, all she’d have to do would be to find it. It wouldn’t be extremely difficult to maneuver, her Glyph Gates could get her out of a crowd if she was swarmed, and it’d be unlikely that she’d randomly run into another student down there.

She reasoned the pros outweighed the cons for her long term goals, she had a feeling that being part of a team would be distracting, which was something she couldn’t afford. She checked the cave location once more and set off in that direction, keeping a watchful eye on her surroundings.

The Jerks

Christophe quickly took stock of the situation. He checked the walls, doors, and surroundings that they were falling toward. He listened, in between the screams, he heard the sound of industrial hydraulics, synchronized with the spinning jerky movements of the hold. Some sort of catapult system, no doubt, to give us some lateral momentum to utilize on our way down, he thought, preparing to relay his plan to the rest of the team. He was going to have Ashton lash them all together when they jumped off the catapult, and have Jonah use his Hammer Jets to aim them to the lake. Lorelei could shoot her gauntlet’s grapple at the water, using her soundwaves to agitate it enough so their impact wouldn’t be that strong. That, coupled with Tibbers shielding their fall in the water, should’ve been a relatively safe landing that kept everyone together.

What actually happened, however, was Christphe and Lorelei being accosted by a girl with waist length red hair.

"Well what are you guys waiting for? Let's get going!" she said brightly, taking them by surprise and running them out of the door.

“What, wait, no no no!!” Christophe said, as he and Lorelei were thrown from the ship. The two quickly clasped hands as Lorelei shot her gauntlet, Silent Seduction, to grab the edge of the ship. They swung along it as she drew it close, but it was out of view from the hold. Christophe breathed slowly, patting Lorelei on the shoulder. “Woah, thanks. Okay, okay, we can still save this, I’ve got a plan. We just need to get Ashton’s attention before-“

“Christophe!! I’ve got ya’, par’dner, don’t worry!”

Ashton came shooting out of the hold, apparently using his Laser Lassos to slingshot himself out of the hold. All too quickly, he was too far to lasso back up to them..

Christophe sighed, slapping his forehead. “Ugh, I don’t know why I even bother,” he said, rubbing his face while the air rushed through his hair.. “It’s okay, it’s okay, Jonah’s got a cool head. We’ll get him up here, he can direct us to-“

“Ash, you moron! Wait up!”

Christophe grumbled, as a dark blur shot out of the ship. Jonah had swung one of his hammers by it’s strap, using the force to leap out of the ship, as jets along the handle and hammer head propelled him even farther. Very quickly, he intercepted Ash in midair.

Christophe kept quiet, as Lorelei giggled, “Go on, say something about getting Naomi before she jumps off,” she said with a grin.

Christophe barely opened his mouth before a call of, “Don’t forget me, guys!” rang out, as a small body jumped out of the hold. She was surrounded by orange lines of light, Tibbers surrounding her while she fell, so she’d be kept safe when she would hit the ground..

He didn’t say a word, just a restrained scream while he rubbed his face. “…Whatever, I’ve got a plan, hit the catapult switch when I give the signal,” he told Lorelei, pointing at the button on the handled. However, when she grabbed the handle, she accidently pushed the switch, sending them both hurtling through the air. “OH COME ON!!” Christophe shouted, as Lorelei loudly laughed, the two spiraling through the air towards the mountain range.

Arrun Tower

Arrun watched the hold of the ship slip away through the window, “Ah, takes me back to my first year…” he said to himself, turning to walk back to the cockpit. He stood by the pilot, asking, “How is the ship running?”

“Running fine, sir, we have more than enough fuel, and controls are responsive. We are heading to the drop point to pick up the spare ship hold, we should be there in about ten minutes,” the pilot replied.

Arrun nodded, steeping to the side. He looked at the console, at a detailed map of the First Test location, along with the markers for every student, and cache in the area. He crossed his arms, looking over all the readouts and statistics. Alright, everyone’s alive, though some of the class has some fractures. Looks a few battles have started, though no caches have been found, he thought, eyes drifting towards a certain twenty-four students out of the others.

Hmm, not much results yet. These students have the highest expected ratings out of the entire Freshmen class, according to Luster’s calculations. I still can’t access his databanks and records, so I don’t know exactly what calculations he used, but I’m still not sure why he believes these students will excel above the others… he thought, reaching forward and highlighting a few students to see their situation. His eye twitches slightly while he mustache bristled. “What’s with people shouting random things while jumping, and getting caught in the environment?” he said to himself, shaking his head. “Must be generation thing, this is much different than the First Test in my day, I might change it back next year,” he said, walking back to the main area of the cockpit.

He took a seat, looking at the windshield with his fingers tented. He intently looked ahead, brow furrowed in thought. Something was bothering him about the test, he knew the Unicorn was a threat on the mountainside, but he felt there was something else by the mountainside that was cause for alarm. This was still one of the things that Luster had set-up before his death, so it was either go along with the directives or set up something completely different, which Arrun didn’t have the time for. He’d have trusted Luster to the end of the earth, but there’s been so many questions raised since he died, Arrun didn’t know if Luster knew everything that was going to happen or if he’d been blindsided himself. Arrun rested his chin on his thumbs, tapping his tented forefingers against his brow.

I suppose we’ll see what the year brings, maybe Luster had a plan all along…or maybe it doesn’t matter if he did. We’ll just have to trust the new generation…and ourselves, he thought, mustache curling in a slight smile. No use getting worked up before the First Test is even over, I’ll worry about the future when it’s time, he thought once more, standing up and returning to the console to monitor the test.

Naomi Isadora

--LOCATION: Death Grip Forest – F6—

Naomi closed her eyes tight, feeling pressure from all sides as Tibbers held her close. She was completely embraced by the large bear construct, so when she fell through the tree canopy of Death Grip Forest, she barely felt a nudge. When she hit the ground, which felt like hitting a mattress, she looked up, surprised by the tree beside her that she assumed she knocked down. “Oh my,” she said, picking herself up and dusting herself off. She looked around biting her lip and gripping the bottom of her hoodie. “Um, guys? Guys? Are you, um, around here?” she called out, only hearing the buzzes and chirps of insects.

“Oh, okay…” she said quietly, huddling up in her hoodie. I must have been too late, and missed them… she though, breathing heavily as she crouched on the ground. She rocked on her feet, as she realized that this was the first time since she’d joined Christophe’s group that she’d been in a combat zone alone. She didn’t like it. She held her hands to her ears, closing her eyes tightly, as the noises of nature around her seemed to increase in volume. Birds, bugs, beasts, even the far-off voices of people were too much, too loud, she didn’t like it. She didn’t like it. She hated it. She wanted it to stop, to stop, to stop, stop, stop, STOP, STOP!!! STO-

And she felt a pat on her shoulder.

She looked up, eyes welling up with tears at the familiar form of Tibbers, the lines of light now a light blue. Naomi sniffed, wiping her noise on her sleeve, and stood up. “You’re right, I’m sure we’ll be fine,” she said, pausing. “Yeah, let’s go try and find them, I’d like that,” she said after that, her pained expression turning lighter with a soft smile. It fell slightly, though, before she said, “You know, I never brought this up to him, but we’re five people, and Mr. Tower said it would be teams of four.” Pausing once more, she looked up and said, “I guess so, maybe Christophe will have a plan, he always does.”
*Sigh* Te-e-e-e-echnically, the character was made earlier on, it just wasn't finished till we were almost ready to leave. Also, I don't think he posted in the IC, he said he wanted her the last one on, and we're already at the test, I didn't see a post in the last three pages. Asuras? Something to share with the class?
The Unicorn will have a chip in the horn, though it'll prolly be from when Cororo, Jian, Aesil, and the Boxer tussled with it. Corrie prolly channeled stuff for the Boxer to punch it in it's stupid face. :P I don't think Arara would be the one to chip it, she's more useful in long-term fights and grace rather than short-burst of brute force, the likely ones who'd chip it would prolly be Tarkus, Orion, or mehbeh Isaac. Not including Jonah or Naomi 'cuz I'm involving my characters in something that's gonna piss Ol' Uni off first, so whoever fights it for the cache it may or may not have will have a really fun time. Like, super fun.

Okay, here's the deal, the circles are the Data Caches on the map. Colored areas area a range of a particular type of Grim, anything with a blurred black border is underground in the tunnels. Caches will either be attached to a formidable Grim, or in a hard to reach area in the lair. GM's can take over an control anything that the Grim do, so if you write your character fighting and we think it's too easy, we can come in and ramp up the difficulty. :P Besides the Grimm here, there can be the ones we know about from the show as well that you can fight, though we'll have the caches with a specific Grimm. Also, as you've prolly guessed, the black spots with faded sides are entrances to the underground tunnels. But it's possible in some areas, especially near the mountains and, actually, Lake Listless/Sinkhole island, to either fall or get sucked into an underground tunnel that's not a proper entrances. So, you know, watch out for that. :P

GM's will post when a cache has appeared for partners/groups fighting, so keep a watch out for that, we'll have the location at the beginning of the post so it's easy to see. Note that in their respective ranges, some Grimm will be roving, and move from area to area. The Grimm that may move out of the colored territories are Gray, Red, Blue, and Black, most others will be densely populated in the center of their ranges.

Also, I'd like to call dibs for some teams, though I understand if other people find a problem with that. No matter what, yellow area in the corner is reserved for the jerks full group. Some of the caches are at a place that will require the whole 4 person team to defeat, so if two partners go there, they might find their hands full for awhile. But, if people don't mind me calling some dibs for my own team, I'd very much like the top, darker green under the mountain range. If peeps think it should be more random, that's fine, though it's up to us how dangerous the Grimm you challenge are. :P

Here's info on the special Grimm we have here, the normal ones we know about will be in the area too, lovingly scribed by Lucius and Asuras.

Myrmidons - Medium Grunt Level Grimm. Dangerous because they have armored carapaces that can deflect most blows and powerful mandibles that can tear apart cement like it was made cardboard. Can be found in groups of five to ten, but always near a hive, of which there can be up to a hundred. Power crushing or piercing attacks can break through their armor, or you can hit underneath the chitin or their much more noticeable joints for massive damage. They also suffer from being very forward-facing fighters, meaning that if you have the space you can easily attack them from behind with impunity.

Vampire Bats - Small Grunt Level Grimm. They're fast and stealthy buggers capable of flight and being able to sense people without need of sight. Always travels in groups of at least five or more, and if you just find one there is like to be more just hiding. They have a nasty bite and can leave a painful gash with their claws, but otherwise are very weak and easy to kill. They're also very sensitive to noise, so while they can find you with just your breath, fire some bullets at them and you'll stun them with the shockwave.

Salamanders Medium Grunt Level Grimm. Salamanders are tough, able to scale walls and the ceiling, and capable of breathing searing hot napalm from their mouths, making a direct confrontation with them all the more deadly. Usually solitary creatures, but tend to gather in very hot places. Salamanders can be very oblivious however, and sometimes won't even attack someone standing next to them if they aren't an immediate threat. And while far from harmless, they tend to drop their guard all the time.

Sirens (Can't find a good image, so I'll describe them. Sirens have a human woman's body and head, but that's where the similarities ends. Instead of arms, they have three webbed tentacles for each side, with retractable spikes going up and down each tentacle. They have one large large fin where their legs would be, and a series of hypnotic luminescent lights on it.) - Large Grunt level Grimm. Sirens are faux human Grimm that dwells in dark waters, or in dark areas with water. They are superb fighters underwater and can still be a threat on land, as their spiked tentacles could crush and over power most hunters. They are also bale to mimic voices and even echo words they hear from other humans, and are smart enough to utilize this. They can also hypnotize or otherwise entrance hunters with their luminescence scales, bringing their prey closer to them. They live in groups of five, but no more than ten, and usually have one of the Sirens as a leader. However, they're only a threat in the water; so long as they don't ambush you, they're easy kills on land or during the brief time in the air. Their scales, when most mistaken as other forms of illumination, also makes them detectable by sight even in dark places. It should be noted that they are one of the very few Grimm's capable of reproduction, namely with males. Take that as you will.

Hydra - Colossal Boss Level Grimm. Hydra's are multi-headed serpentine monstrosity. They have a bite that can tear apart fortress walls, and they can crush cars into thin wafflers just by swallowing them. They heal very rapidly from their injuries, even dismemberment and decapitation. And they're not easy to harm anyways. That being said, they do have their ever fabled weakness to fire, namely that a cauterized wound will not heal. But in order for this to be effective, all the existing heads must be destroyed or otherwise severed, because a Hydra is more than smart enough to find a way to heal from cauterized wounds: Tear off the burned area into a bloody stump, than regenerate from there.

Baby Hydras - Medium Grunt Level Grimm. A single Hydra mother can lay up to a thousand eggs in a month, and though the mother will have to spend the next month resting, it only takes a week for the eggs to hatch. Even strait from the eggs a baby Hydra is more than a threat to any aspiring Hunter. They're still large enough to swallow a hunter whole, and their bite can tear off your limbs. But for all their strength, they're pretty fragile and most do not have their signature healing ability, and even the ones that can regenerate are not powerful enough ability to survive lethal blows.

Unicorn Large Legendary Level Grimm. Unicorns are nothing to laugh at (Unless you have a morbid sense of humor). Nearly impossible to kill, you can't hide from them, and nothing short of being dead already will save you from them if they have some reason to want to kill you. Their horns have been known to kill anything that touches it, though the same could be said of the beast as a whole. It can detect Aura and is sentient, or at least intelligent. Solitary and territorial creatures, if it doesn't attack you it's because it just doesn't feel like it, and you had best use the chance to get going. The only notable weakness is that if someone makes direct eye contact with it before it charges, it will not break off the stare or do much of anything until the unfortunate bloke looks away.

Vampire Trees - Large Grunt Level Grimm - Vampire Trees, misleading in name, are actually not trees at all. They are simply Grimm who have evolved to resemble trees. Often looking like dead, leafless trees husks, they are known to wait for prey to walk passed before striking with sharp tentacle like branches which impale and crush their targets. The 'vampire' portion of their name comes from the practice of literally squeezing every drop of blood it can from the corpses of those it vanquishes, drenching its 'bark' with the gore in what experts can only assume is a form of nutrient gathering. Although more rare, Vampire Trees have been known to grow 'leafs' in order to look more natural in heavily wooded habitats.
Yeah, prolly, we can post the info, but we won't post exactly where everything is..until it's too late. :P And what info do peeps want me to add to the map? 'Sides the cache locations and maybe grid lines, of course.
Mainly in the post after you land, it doesn't really matter going from ship to drop off location. It'll just be easier to tell where people are once they start moving and battling if they have "Inside whatever forest" and "Tunnel in blah blah mountain" at the top of their post. :P
Yeah, people within the teams can divy up how they want, and can pick their own names. I'd just like it if people kept it five letters or less per word, 'cuz otherwise the letters from the names aren't even that significant. Do people want me to post a map with gridlines so people can coordinate? I can post the map with the cache locations too, though I thought I'd wait till people got partnered up.

Oh,and if people wouldn't mind posting the general location of their character, it'll help keep track of where everyone is when things get crazy. :P
Heh, I approved of Tibbers before I knew where it was from, 'sides, I gave it a semi-plausible reasoning.

And gais

ay postid post

(Okay, so, before anyone uses artistic license in their post, no student is gonna die in the landing or subsequent battles, though you can have 'em break bones and such. Nothing deforming, 'cuz I wanna save that stuff for later big battles, the year starting off on a high note makes the awful stuff worse...I mean, everything should be nice and stuffsies, tee hee hee. :P Let me know if something's confusing, I write it semi-quickly before and after making dinner, so there might be some typos or problems. :P)
