He laughed at her little giggling fit. "Hahahahaha, no not quite!" He said with a smile, "You know, you're quite the personality, Kotani! Glad to make a new friend so soon. Especially in a world like this. We should probably get back to the campus to explore the school. We might get lost if we stay in here too long." He suggested. He was certainly happy, Kotani had definitely become a new friend.
"You're concerned with that smoke too huh?" He asked, "We should go back and see what's up once we receive our pokemon."
"Things that aren't living...?" Marcus asked, slightly bewildered by her question, "Like... Rocks? Or dirt? Or buildings? Well, all I DO know is that anything that is living or was once living does indeed have a soul. Anything that can act on its own and has a moving, acting form, has a soul." He said smiling at her.
"My name is Kellen," He said, "Kellen Michaels." Smiling back at him. "You wouldn't believe the steps I took to get here. I assume you also live in Bristole. I don't believe we've met before, which is not a surprise, as if I'd ever actually get to go out and MEET people... Heaven forbid." He muttered slightly angrily.
"Hahaha, you think so?" Marcus asked, "I've always been taught to treat all life equally. It is belief in some religions, such as Catholicism or Christianity that only humans contain a soul. However, I am not exactly human, and I have a soul. So why can't everything else?"

He felt as though she wouldn't completely understand what he was saying, as he felt she was a bit of a wandering spirit, but he felt he might try to explain it to her anyways.

"You, me, the trees, that flower, this inchworm, everything that lives, has a soul." He said with a smile. "We all have our own independent thoughts."
"Are you alright?" Kellen asked when he had tumbled down the hill, but the boy had just kept running. He made his way behind him to the pokemon center and handed another nurse his own pokeball. "So..." He sighed, out of breath, "What is your name?"
Once inside the forest he looked all around at the beauty. It truly was a graceful world, and he was always one for admiring nature. A single inchworm hanging from a tree caught his eye. He glanced over to see that Kotami was still nearby, admiring a patch of flowers. He turned back to the inchworm and lifted up his finger to try and coax it into climbing onto his hand. As it latched itself to his hand he began to observe as it crawled around in its silly way.

"Such a fascinating creature." He said aloud to himself, "So unique in a world full of differences. I walk on two legs and you walk like a slinky. To some gods you have no soul, but to some you do. To me, you're just as strange to this world as I am. And if I have a soul, then you must as well."
"You're right... I have no time for this," Kellen decided, running close behind this boy. "But I have to check it out... I have no supplies, and this pokemon is in no condition to fight. I'll have to come back."

Hoping to get to the poke center soon, he shouted, "How far is this, exactly?!" We've been running for 20 minutes!"
"Well, I'll be your friend Kotani!" Marcus said with a smile, "No need to be shy, I'm just as nervous as you believe it or not."
Condesce said "Anyway, we're here now!" the two stood in front of an emerald scenery of many trees; tall and short. The sun was still in the sky and the sky remained clear and blue.

"Wow..." Marcus awed, "Such a gorgeous campus, this place looks quite fortunate. Well, let's explore!" He said as he began off into the trees.
"Please, are you headed to the next town?" Kellen asked, "If you know where it is out of these woods I would love the help! You seem in a hurry so I'll just follow you if that's where you're headed. We both need to heal our pokemon."

He lost his eye contact with the boy with the Pancham as he noticed the pillar of smoke that seemed to appear up ahead over the trees.
'Oh great...' He thought, 'What else?!'
