You folks are moving at a pace that I will absolutely NEVER be able to keep up with; both the IC an the OOC content. My real life is too damn busy for all this, plus I am in three or four other normal paced RPs. Although, if anyone has questions about how to organize an army, feel free to shoot me a PM. Or anything about militaries in general.

Part of that is due to me, I seem to have caused a bit of a issue when a person disagreed with my actions.
Dutch I assume since when I brought it up you said nothing about incidents with Soviet expulsion that there were no noteworthy ones. I will have the units up that were not transferred back to Soviet control.

You really don't know what you're talking about. If you don't take the IS-3 seriously, you're killing yourself. Main Battle Tanks became common good after Korea, and the T-54 was designated as a medium tank when it first rolled out. The USSR is in 1950 still developing the Stalin family of tanks, that's how outdated it is. Even if it is, your army is stuck in that era.1945? Outdated. And you weren't given a thing. You barely have an army.

Main battle tank concept began in WWII with medium tanks evolving into the roll as armor became less useful due to increasingly effective main guns. Also i was given a great deal, including 4 regiments worth of heavy tanks. You like the IS-3 so much but seem to be forgetting I have them too.

You still lack a way to counter the IS-3 and Russian air superiority. The former isn't such a major thing. The latter /is/. I wouldn't put it beyond Russia to start bombing Polish cities if they get bogged down. You're not Afghanistan, you do not have the US as your friendly weapon-providing friend. Once you piss Russia off, that's /it/. You cut off your own weapon supply, and are suddenly surrounded by people who really do not like you.

We are still in an era were airplanes have difficulty against ground armor actually. Post war tests showed most weapons were not accurate enough or not powerful enough to actually known out a tank and the necessary missile developments have not progressed to the point where you will see many AFVs defeated by airpower. I also have a noticeable sea border, if the USSR chooses to invade the US and UK will likely extend a hand of friendship.

It's still going to kick the living shit out of your entire army, since your army is still stuck in the era the IS-3 is from. The MBT era of tanks kicked off properly after Korea.

Not really, I was given Soviet equipment and just got more as Poland was meant to be the 2nd Echelon in either an offensive into NATO territory or the 2nd echelon of defense.

Sources on military strength and production? Also note that it's 1950.

Airdropping in again because I am nosy and annoying, as women should be:If Dutch intends to rely on heavy armour, this is not going to be a fun invasion for /you/, Omega. The IS-3 made the west shit their collective pants and quickly pull designs out of their ass to counter it. How do you even intend on countering ?Vaexa out. For reals, hopefully, as I am without a doubt getting annoying

The IS-3 is meant for an outmoded form of warfare, we are less than a year out from next generation MBTs. The IS-3 was not a big deal, the T-54 was.

Poland did not have any proper armed forces before the mid-1950's and all production of this was done in Russia and East Germany itself. Stalin had such a fixation on heavy industry the USSR didn't know what to do with all of it by the time he died.

Poland was almost their own theater strength force before 1945 and began production of state of the art Soviet tanks in 1951.

I honestly think we should just RP out wars and figure out what happens with realism in mind.

I agree

It's hard not to powerplay when you have IS-3s.Oh, different kind of powerplay. Right.

If you intend to rely on heavy armor this is not going to be a very fun invasion for you.

That was in the second world war. All armies shrunk during that time, and the Polish army is no exception. It had no military-industrial complex and a tiny regular army devoid of equipment proper equipment, no air force, etc. These countries were kept down so that Russia could easily roflstomp them. I can't say this for the Poles, but the East German units actually had Russian troops embedded in them.

The Soviets based almost 100,000 men in Poland and because they had good control of the Polish armed forces as they controlled the officer corp. Poland also did shrink, down from 1 million on all fronts.

Isn't this alternate history? Whatever happened in real life doesn't apply here I think. (except real people's deaths, I think)

Anything that happened before the RP started is in effect so those massacres still happened.

#YOPOYou Only Poland OnceAnd no, Poland did not have any proper armed force before the mid-50's.

Ya, they kind of did. Before the government was setup they were almost their own theater force before being rolled into the Belorussian theater. Afterwards they expanded to several hundred thousand strong and were fully modernized by the Soviets.

"Hey Stalin! I'm going to dump all Soviet technicians, officers, and all NKVD staff in Poland like old trash since they've been doing the things you wanted but I really don't like. Can we still be friends?"

You forgot the part where Poland was their own army group and turned into a major.production area that by 1951 was key in keeping East German based forcds supplied with tanks like the T54.
