Harper's Haven, in Maine, is a tiny coastal town, which survives on the tourism dollar of its seasonal guests. During the summer, the population nearly triples, with many wealthy Philadelphians and New Yorkers coming up to stay in their summer homes. It, as a town, is well over two hundred years old and many of the buildings are almost as old as that. It is wedged between Mt. Juniper and the sea shore, offering many beautiful natural settings to be enjoyed.

The infamous Walden family has been the leading family in the community, for over two hundred years. Going back Sir Thomas Walden, there have always been Waldens at Walden Grove. Walden Grove is a small, wooded estate set on the bluffs, overlooking the sea. There is a two hundred year old manor house, fashioned from imported yellow limestone. It is said that Sir Thomas's ghost still haunts the mansion, looking for revenge for his bloody murder. In fact, more than one Walden has met a bloody end. There is a history of deformity and insanity which has dogged this famous old family.

Whether you are a member of the Walden clan, a year long resident of Harper's End, or a seasonal tourist, you are welcome in our community.

This is a soap opera game, with MILD touches of the supernatural to it. (example- You might spot a ghost or actually contact a dead relative with a seance.) This means no vampires or werewolves need apply. The writing, and the acting, will be over the top. We are looking for romance, racy material (within the parameters of this community) and revenge. There will be tidal waves, betrayals, affairs, kidnappings and evil twins.

The game is set in 1985. Ronald Reagan has just started his second term. We Are the World is still in the public consciousness. Hair is big and clothing is colorful. It is July 3rd, on a Wednesday. in town, Back to the Future is having its premiere at the local theater. Tomorrow there is a big July 4th celebration planned.

This will be a high end casual game. That means you MUST post one FULL paragraph per post. No one liners. Two or three paragraphs would be appreciated. All characters must have a real photo. All posts must use reasonably easy to read grammar. It does not have to be perfect, but it must be readable. Please wait for your character to be approved, before you post in the IC.

This will be a mature game, with mature subject matter (PG-13) so I would appreciate those over eighteen applying. Still, this site has standards, so keep all of your R rated material to PMs, and make sure that the other person is eighteen and actually welcomes such things, BEFORE you send them something along those lines. Also PLEASE fade-to-black and continue the story line! I don't want you off PMing and forgetting to write in this actual thread.

Roger Walden IV
Age: 45
Gender/Orientation: Heterosexual Male
Occupation: Heir to the Walden fortune and CEO of the Walden Canning Concern
Secrets; That would be telling (you need two major secrets)
Catch Phrase: I'll have my people contact your people.
Relationships: Pending (Who do you already know and how?)
Brief Biography: (Keep it to one or two paragraphs. We will learn more in the story.)

Roger was born into some money, to say the least. He was raised by nannies, governesses and tutors. His parents were distant and mildly loving. There was never anything he wanted for growing up and there isn't anything he wants for now. He is not the mayor of the town, but the mayor practically works for him. He is beyond petty politics. Roger simply IS power. His hobbies are his yacht, raising polo ponies and screwing his secretaries behind his wife's back.
Cool. That's two so far, besides myself. If we get three people I will throw an ooc up.
Sure. We have three. The youngest is 9. He is a cub scout, into science and astronomy and Legos. The next oldest is 11. She a social butterfly who loves My Little Ponies and getting to play outside. The oldest is 13. She has Asberger's Syndrome (like I do), is into MLP, dragons and role-playing. I am sure she will find her way onto this website before to many more years go by. I apologize for not mentioning their names, but my wife has a policy of not doing so online. I can tell you that my name is Mike though.
The baroness nodded. Roger knew her tone hardly mattered to him. She could curse like the sailor she was, and she still would not say anything he had not already heard in the army. The wound looked deep and nasty and he wondered how she was remaining conscious. He turned to the baroness. "Watch over her. I will go to meet the doctor and tell him where to go." The baroness smiled a sad smile. "Don't worry. Dr. Stevenson knows this house all to well. He will know where to come."

Across town, Dr. Stevenson was preparing to eat the excellent lunch of pork roast and sauerkraut his wife had prepared for him, when a lad from the baroness's estate rode up, with two horses, to fetch him. Without a seconds though, he threw on his brown great coat and tri-corner hat and climbed onto a horse. He was an older fellow, in his early sixties, but still in very good condition. He had long, gray hair, drawn back into a ponytail, a lean, kind face and blue eyes.
No worries. It is harder on the kiddies than on us. Thanks though.

Lol yeah, Mike's done. He wouldn't have been able to go any farther with the wounds in his chest, anyway.

He done gone to meet his maker.
Change in plans. Our car is in the shop and the bill has destroyed our vacation budget. We may still go a week late, but I will be around next week.
