They're mainly for keeping the IC uncluttered, so they work in that respect.

Don't worry about it~ It happens a lot. I've already got a gender-neutral name and then I go and put guys as my icon. Its no wonder it happens.

I like to think she'd at least know my silly inn crew. I mean, they know her, or at least her name (Josh likes to make up silly stories about what she really does up in the attic all day) because she is one of their tenants. They'd be interested in knowing more about someone whose been sharing the same roof as them for so long, at the very least.
Now the real question is, who out of the towns people does Estelle pair up in her mind, because I'm interested and want to know for some reason.
