I keep coming back here very so often, as if it would make my wanting to return any better. I don't know why that would be. I would just disappear again and regret it again, I'm sure.

Dear lord, i never realized how hammy Sazh's Japanese voice actor is. Problem is, there's no other video I found that exclusively displays only Sazh's summon in the English version, so just try to keep in mind Sazh's English voice in this RP. It fits him better.
"Come on, get some!" Sazh cried out in mocking of the shadowy creature as the group rained hell upon it. To the backdrop of Nonon's weird-ass music cannons, the dragon was pelted with fire, bullets and blade strikes, all working in tandem to devastate it. Sazh's enhancements did well to adi the damage output, and it seemed that his his own bullets were getting in a few pints of harm. The hellish beast quickly found its wings crippled by the onslaught of attacks, and for moments, it seemed to be on the ropes. it staggered back, visibly harmed and overwhelmed, unable to take advantage quite enough.

That all turned around just as quickly as it had come forth. Tackled from its perch by the almost equally large zombified dragon under the planeswalker's command, the dragon seized an opportunity and practically melted the thing with a point-blank surge of black miasma. Then, like with the lesser vampires, it chomped down, voraciously devouring the definitely dead monster.

All of the groups efforts perished as the dark wyvern was mended of its wounds, and then some. Swallowed into a shell of its own dark power, it quickly tore itself free again with a new, evolved form. This... this was definitely more akin to a legendary dragon, a beast bathed in golden-silver splendor far greater than the demented, shadowy monster they had just nearly slain moments before. The others cursed, they groaned, they expressed their surprise and frustration, and the dragon meanwhile looked upon them with a new contemptuous confidence, its dark, foul air radiating off of it in abundance to coat the mountainside.

It was all Sazh could do to not gag at this witnessing, covering his lowed face with an arm as he held his pistols in a tight clench. He witnessed Nonon scream out in rage with a heart-shaped Wave Motion Gun, Saber rocket herself forward with her now fully-visible magic sword, and Archer spawn two more blades out of nowhere to lunge onto the dragon's back. From that crater the former black dragon had stomped out, the martial artist somehow crawled out with pained cynicism. As the Shagaru Magara reared back for another miasma breath attack, the l'Cie finally spattered out, "Ah, to hell with this-!"

Holding a hand to his l'Cie mark, Sazh focused hard on his Eidolith. The heated magic within materialized the red and gold crystalline feather promptly. "I summon..." Sazh started, then threw forth the crystal, gunning at it furiously. "Brynhildr!" As it was shattered, the Eidolith exploded into an expanding sphere of concentrated magic. Black faded into orange on the outline of the sphere, laced with ancient glyphs.

The darkness began to materialize, taking form and detail until finally, it dispersed the magic globe around it in a burst, crashing down to the ground. For anyone unfamiliar with Eidolons as Sazh knew them, this being was amazing for its foreign structure. Its body was purely metallic, yet very humanoid, as if it were some intricate form of living armor, what with how machine-like it seemed. Standing almost thrice as high as Sazh, Brynhildr carried a huge polearm akin to a double-sided halberd, which it easily brandished with one hand as if it was no more than a basic sword. The scheme of reds and golds upon the Eidolon belied a sense of burning power, ultimately accurate for what it did.

"There you are," the l'Cie commented at Brynhildr's arrival, lashing out to take aim at the dragon, "We need your help!" Brynhildr nodded silently in recognition, then in a furious motion charged forward, aiming to smash the lustrous dragon's head asunder to cut short its harmful breath while Sazh covered it in another flurry of bullets.
For a (relatively brief) period, I considered also playing Shovel Knight as a character.

Otherwise, I actually haven't had any serious thoughts as to a second character I would play. As much as I'd like to pick something else from the many Final Fantasy games, I should probably vouch for something else.
"Yeah!" Sazh yelled out in triumph as the blazing attacks struck true, bringing fire to the dragon's flammable bits. The creature cried in pain, writhing in the inferno it was caught in. A short-lived moment, alas, as the beast so soon thereafter generated some black aura and blew away the flame with its own brand of magical power. Damn, so much for that.

The other fighters in the group didn't hesitate in going to town on the monster, Felt and Archer lashing out with their blades and the vampire siccing his own magical minions upon the beast. While the swords barely managed to scratch at the dragon's hide, that martial artist still thinking she was a cat somehow managed to recover from that poisonous storm and rapidly hacked away at its underbelly. She seemed to be about to make some headway before the dragon swiftly chomped down one of the vampires and smashed the girl into a crater with unrelenting force. Sazh was almost positive she couldn't have survived that.

"Agh, no- dammit-!" the l'Cie swore, angered at the presumed death of a combatant to this thing and torn between fighting it or protecting his allies. Whatever he could throw at the Gore Magala, it could shrug off, it seemed; Sazh even held his doubt about his fire-infused bullets, normally combining stopping power with magical burns to scar on several levels. Putting a hand to his mark, the l'Cie considered summoning his Eidolon... but even then, there was no guarantee she would be their ticket to victory, and with such limited usage, too. Better to be used as a last resort, he decided. Sazh gathered energy with his brand, drew his pistols, and channeled fire energy into a short hail of bullets, pelting anywhere on the dragon's hide he could hit.

Seeing Felt having to fall back from the assault a bit, Sazh called out to the alchemist, "Hey! Hold still, I think I can give you a bit more edge to that blade!" Assuming Felt cooperated, Sazh concentrated on his brand again, it glowing a light orange with its usage. In the next moment, the pilot flung out his arm, throwing a magical aura into the sword and charging it with fire magic. "Alright, let 'er rip!" Sazh called, hoping a more heated and blazing sword would be of greater effect on this creature.
There was a quite the maelstrom on new commotion going on. From higher up on their path, where Vash and Archer had ended up going to argue, came again the System Lord, that vampire and some sort of... odd, zombie creature. Well, then. Unfamiliar were the gun-slinging, thick-accented lady, the very-obscured masked muscleman, and the absolutely revolting giant rat perched on the undead thing's back. Sazh could only assume they were also challengers who had somehow managed to get roped into this.

Between the now wholly present group, there was a couple of folks consoling the very distressed Whitney, Vash, Archer, Ba'al and Sorin arguing over semantics and righteousness, Nonon still being a snarky wise-ass, Saber managing to dispel her awkwardness around cats by focusing her disapproval of the zombie, and that freakin' viking falling out of the sky with a painful but apparently harmless crack. In the midst of it, Sazh could only consider once more how able this group would be of actually working together at all, when it came down to it. His whole idea of trying to get the folk together to gauge their abilities had taken one step out the gate and fallen flat on its face, so...

Sazh didn't get that chance to finish that thought. The entire sky area around them suddenly began to twist with shadowy clouds, a storm of dark distorting that hung thick in the air. Black power was flung in chunks from.. somewhere, soon revealed to a massive, sinister-colored... thing.

Was that their dragon, come early to snuff them out? It looked more like some giant cat, a quadruped creature cloaked in a fur sleeve. It touched down lead, spreading hundreds of violet particulates everywhere and tainting the environment with its very presence. With a crackling twist of the fur cape, out was unfurled two colossal wings, cutting the battlefield dangerously short and spreading yet more of that choking miasma. A roar, then a furious storm of venomous orbs was unleashed, and the battle began.

The cat-like had mentioned that perhaps the dragon might be weak to fire. Noting the apparent abundance of fur on some aspects of this thing's body, Sazh vouched a good guess that those were quite flammable. Quickly, he conjured a magical shell around himself, only barely able to outcast the barrage of poison. Without even drawing his pistols, the l'Cie charged up a surge of heated magic energy in his brand. Moments later, Sazh finally unleashed the blast in a huge flaming sphere; that hitting the dragon dead-on would result in a huge flaming explosion, with great stopping power and the distinct possibly of catching its furs aflame.
Holy wall of text, Batman!

I feel like you could benefit from using paragraphs a bit more, if you would kindly. Makes it far less of an eyesore to try and read (at least on my part, I dunno how many others I can vouch for).
"Might not like the heat, eh..." Sazh mumbled, mostly to himself. Perhaps his l'Cie affinity to fire was not as misplaced here as he had originally imagined, what with the lava-spewing monster they had just fled from not 3 minutes earlier. Maybe it was influenced by Sazh's original interpretation of dragons, whom didn't have any too-discernible weaknesses; that still held true to some degree here, but Sazh had to remind himself that his personal logic had to be left aside, given the current circumstances.

The point was, this legendary dragon they were hunting was definitely weak to other dragons, and possibly weak against heat. And if was just at the top of the range here, then it was just a matter of making sure they could get to it. The l'Cie was confident enough that the rest of this crew was capable enough to handle it, from what he had seen up to this point. So as far as he was concerned, he was about as ready as he could be; Sazh just had to make sure everyone else was ready, too.

"Welp," Sazh called out a bit, referencing the group, "Let's get an idea of what we've all got. Either stuff to help slay the dragon, or stuff to help the people slaying the dragon." A vague categorization, sure, but they could get the idea.

Just from looking, Sazh figured that perhaps both Archer and Saber had one or two tricks that would be useful on the frontline, maybe even some direct dragon-slaying weapons, in Archer's case. Whitney, currently in the midst of bawling her eyes out... well, he hated to put it so bluntly, but there really wasn't a lot she could do, the poor girl. That odd kid with the transforming armor had flying abilities, definitely a boon, but it might be hard to take advantage of if Nonon came back. Vash... Sazh hadn't seem much of Vash, so he couldn't vouch for what he could do, but surely he had at least some means for fire or explosions, given his use of firearms; the issue came that he didn't seem willing to fight, and seemed to be especially against actually killing anything.

And then that one gender-shifting martial artist came bounding out of nowhere and starting being a cat. So much for this being a serious situation. "Okay, what?"
As I understand these sort of situations, we're just waiting on everyone to have posted once before proceeding with another round of posting.
"Rumors, huh..." Sazh murmured passively as he took in what the cat had to offer. He had to admit, it was a bit hard to focus on that felyne when just how it was acting was absurdly cute. Sorta like moogles, but not. Still, he caught all the mumbo about some sort of wyvern-based virus, and how it was being spread by some great dragon that was supposedly just atop this mountain range. That seemed to fit about right with what they might've heard and were looking for. Sazh's thought briefly turned back to that creature they had fought in the cave, wondering if it, too, was a subject of that odd infection...

When the maps were brought out, Sazh was one of the first to try and get a look at them; his own navigational skills couldn't fail him now. In the meantime, some others were expanding upon questions. Saber was trying to confirm if that dragon the cat was speaking of could be a legendary dragon, though there was a certain brand of insecurity in her tone that Sazh couldn't quite pinpoint. Vash, meanwhile, was trying to discern if the thing had any sort of common or uncommon weakness to exploit.

Considering how important that question was, the l'Cie quickly added, "I'm gonna have to double that question. Any sort of things that are particularly effective against these kinds of dragons?" After a moment of consideration for himself, based on what the cat had already mentioned, he tacked on an afterthought, "That is, besides other dragons?"
The Quilava was definitely unsure of his response, but he got notably confused at the Grovyle's reaction to it. He had seemed to dampen his expression quickly, his hands moving to presumable mask himself. The Guildmaster's door suddenly was thrown open again, and Helios snapped to attention. Had the Guildmaster forgotten something vital?

Ah... apparently there was large conflict in the forest, with a large pack of Ratatta. The Lucario has already planned to intercept it, but now it seemed Alakazam wished to join him, under the pretense that he had wanted to set out anyways. The pair wasted no time in readying their gear and heading outside, practically bursting at the seams with power and confidence.

Meekly, Helios looked to his own badge, still clutched in a forepaw. After some hesitation, the Quilava pushed himself up and back on his hindlegs. He was much taller in this state, but also allowed two free paws to affix the badge to the complimentary neck-worn bandanna of the Guild.

The Breloom's bright and bounding nature yet again spoke, wanting and able to do anything he could. Helios still couldn't bring himself to talk to Henry, only dwell on how different the two of them were. The Grovyle, though, had definitely reacted positively to Henry's suggestions, and resumed his act of greeting the newcomers. The plant lizard looked to Heli for a moment, something sparkling in his eyes that the Quilava couldn't quite discern. Then he moved over to the job board, scanning the list for, "a easier mission for you guys first mission."

Returning to his quadruped stance, Heli went to join the others at the board. He almost halfheartedly leafed through the different jobs tacked on the cork-board, perhaps expecting the plant-types to come up with a better choice. In that moment, his father's voice seemed to ring forth again:

"No, no, NO! You can't just expect anyone else to do what YOU can do just as well on your own!"

It was harsh, but it got the point across. Without any further question, Helios aimed for something on the bulletin board. Something easy, but good practice nonetheless. One offer stood out: Help! I lost my Pecha Scarf somewhere in the forest, and it's too dangerous for me to go myself. Please find it for me, or I won't be able to hang out with my friend Goomy! Helios pointed out the slip of paper and said, "That one? Doesn't seem that challenging..." He ended up trailing off, unsure if what he said would end up coming back to bite him later.
