He is offering a less-religious fantasy version of the Rapture, not necessarily the same controversial event directly referenced. While I myself do harbor a soft spot for angels-versus-Demons scenarios, a tense plague/contagion setting would also be desireable.

Having recently watched 'Contagion' the plague outbreak idea does seem quite tempting- but your spin on a Rapture is also fairly interesting... I wouldn't mind it either way, honestly.
All non-restricted characters are playable, unless I mistakenly forget to put the tag. Yes, Lupa is playable however.
