Hopefully, I won't be assaulted by the Grey Nasty. I figure that's probably a bad way to start something like this.
PV swung his shuttle to the left, narrowly avoiding a USIA Magnetically-Accelerated Projectile. He whipped his shuttle's modified tractor beam toward the enemy cruiser's weapon, ready to rip it off with all the malice a good pirate should have. He slammed his fist onto the button.

Then, he was in a brown, dry field outside of a towering brass city. The rear half of his shuttle was gone, the front buried a foot down in dirt. "Shit. Not again." With little to lose, but much to gain, he left his ruined vessel and traipsed through the firld toward a forest until he realized that the trees were covered in a black dust and were, quite obviously, dying. He turned slowly, activating his helmet's scanners to analyze the layout of the area. It was relatively flat, aside from the city to his left. He shrugged, checked his weapons, and headed off in that direction, each unaided step charging his advanced armor's battery.

He thought he something atop the highest building. A quick check on his helmet's scope told him that it was some sort of armored man. And a big one, at that. So, ignoring his instincts, he decided that it was probably a good person to ask about his whereabouts. He felt a bit better, now that he had a plan, and he could use his crippled shuttle for supplies if need be. And so, armed with knowledge, he progressed.
Sounds good to me! Just drop a bio here, and I'll let you know if you're in the clear.
"How bout that..." Joe thought as he examined the flight schedule. Seattle was cancelled. Everything was cancelled. The crowd busied themselves with the television screens detailing some kind of epidemic. He thought maybe he'd grab a cup of coffee while he waited, then he saw the prices. Four dollars for a small black coffee? No thank you.

A voice came over the loudspeaker. Every head turned to look. "This area is now under military lockdown. Please remain calm." Joe remembered the News. Rioting, it looked like. Maybe some sort of terrorist thing. Either way, he was stuck. Not good. He had work the next day. An aissistant manager is an important organ in the beast of designer retail, and JC Penney is no exception. But, it was outside of his control, so he just sat and waited.

Just waiting.

A squad of soldiers entered the terminal. Army, maybe. They wore the uniforms. But the guns weren't right. Instead of the M4A1 standard carbine, they bore what looked like M240 light machine guns. Those weren't for peacekeeping, they were for suppressive fire. Joe stood up suddenly, understand what was happening. He forced his way through the crowd toward the restrooms. As soon as he entered, he shut the door, and bolted it. It didn't matter if he would get in trouble later, he was at least safe for now. He checked his carry-on bag for anything that could be used as a weapon. He found his baton, a 21-inch piece of segmented steel. A flick of his wrist, and it was ready. A stall door swung open. It was a woman.

"Shit. This is... the women's room." She gave him a disgusted look, and sped past him, unlocking the door before reuniting with the mob outside. Someone screamed, so Joe slammed the door shut again, and spun the bolt back into place. He sat on the floor on the other side of the restroom, facing the door, just waiting.

Something to note before I accept this character;-While people aren't exactly allowed to BS dodge (a la Daredevil, Spider-man), misses will occur. Because 99.99% of characters will be incredibly weak against the kind of high-powered, long-range weapons you have, these misses are probably going to occur often, especially due to your attack's speed. While I'm not saying no on the guns, just remember that with that high caliber of weapons, I have to allow many of those misses in order to allow for reasonable combat to occur (it isn't any fun if you can kill 99.99% of your opponents before they can get in range to attack back).

Also, I figure I'll downgrade the armor to make it a bit more fair. It can stop small calibre bullets, knives, and small swords of any metal softer than carbon steel.
Crap. I should have just edited. Sorry about this. What are your rules on equipment modification?

I have no problem with that decision. I won't be using it all that often against small targets anyway. Someone keeps screwing with my scope. I blame Al Gore... heh heh heh...
Excited to see the first thread. Thus far, it sounds amazing.
This sounds like some excellent combat is going to come of this.
Name: Known by the initials "PV"
Aliases: None

Age: 25-30 years of age, but no one knows for sure
Height: 5'8"
Race: Human
Body type: Lean, but strong

Powers: His armor suit contains a medical repair system, treating wounds when they may appear. It also contains a device that both injects adrenaline into PV's body, and activates internal motors that increase his strength and speed four-fold.

Abilities: Has extensively practiced Russian offensive Systema, as well as Wing Chun. Preferring to attack, rather than to defend, he has high offensive capabilities, but low defensive ones. His armor increases his strength and speed, but is quite flimsy.

Equipment: Bears a type-6 Thunder Class set of custom power armor, capable of stopping small caliber bullets, knives, and metal swords. Energy weapons, because of their high penetration can easily tear through this. He carries a M604 Railgun Rifle, for long range operation, a laser rifle the size of a large handgun, and an energy sword, which he prefers over any ranged weapon. His helmet is actually a repurposed hovercycle helmet, as he liked the sturdiness and weight of it.

Appearance: He rarely takes off his helmet, being able to sleep comfortably in it, as well as funnel nutrients through the microneedles of his suit's medical system. His current setup allows him to survive weeks without taking off his armor. His armor is painted blue and yellow, and has, since the initial painting, been scarred and scratched and burned enough that it is a ragged shell of its former self. Several spraypainted decals decorate his suit, being the symbol of a lightning bolt, a pinup Alice, of Alice in Wonderland, and a PV helmet and crossed swords, reminiscent of a Jolly Roger.

Personality: He is short tempered and short statured. He is fast and unpredictable, and is uncannily skilled at near misses. He has undertaken nine so-called suicide missions and returned without a scratch. As such, he is arrogant and rash, often preferring quick violent encounters to drawn-out peaceful negotiations. Being an intergalactic space pirate, and black market plasma weapon smuggler, he has grown to hate justice forces of all kinds, but is not without respect for some of their more formidable operatives.

Bio: He was born on Earth, in Seattle, in 2034, but soon joined the United States Interstellar Navy. His ship was taken captive by pirates, and, due to his mistrust of organized government, found common ground with the outlaws. They took a liking to him, and brought him with them after destroying the crippled naval vessel. He was declared missing a month later, and was a wanted federal fugitive a month after that. Since then, he's been smuggling dangerous people, weapons, and armors across the galaxy, and participating in shootouts with the United States Interstellar Armed Forces. Kill Count: 72
