Same inquiry here. I had 'just' sent my CS through the works when the RP went down.
Saitou Taiyou, Sentai of Humor

Male | 17

Weapon: Playing Card Constructs (In addition to using Playing Cards, Taiyou can make other items out of playing cards, such as swords and/or a sheild)

Abilities

Guises of Humor Taiyou must summon and wear a mask before he can use any of his abilities. Taiyou may have up to three masks on standby to be summoned, however, he can only 'reset' them by sleeping, and by no other known means. Each mask transforms Taiyou into a different 'humor' with different abilities and personalities that alter his combat abilities and influence his core personality while active. Each mask has a different appearance and comes with a different name. Each mask is thus limited to only two major abilities as Guises of Humor itself is a major ability. Each mask, however, grants the Taiyou two passive abilities of far lesser strength. The first mask transforms Taiyou into Sill, the Humor of Laughter were his passive includes the conjuration of small items (normally props) and levitation (limited flight). The second mask transforms Taiyou into Psyche, the Humor of Wit were his passive includes the ability to make dopplegangers of himself and to instantaneously switch positions with said dopplegangers, The final mask transforms Taiyou into Sik, the Humor of Insanity were his passive is solely the ability to teleport in puffs of smoke.

Sleight of Hand Taiyou performs different tricks depending on what mask he wears. If he is Sill, Sleight of Hand will create a large checkered cloth that can adjust its shape to any object to make it shrink, disappear and even reappear at will. This ability can be used on forces, other abilities and even other people, if they get caught. If he is Psyche, this ability allows him to 'mirror' an action of either himself or another, but the mirror must be a perfect reflection at a perfect 180 degree angle. A mirrored action could be as simple as a punch or can mirror an entire ability, but there are limited on the strength of a mirrored ability. If he is Sik, this ability allows him to remove his forearms and subsequently regrow them to have up to four levitating hands at his disposal.

Will of the Jester Taiyou can manifest the humor he currently represents. Sill is a special exception to this ability as his ability can alter depending on the opponent. The Will of Sill normally manifests as explosions of razor-sharp confetti when Sill snaps his fingers, but against a particularly rude, nasty or overly-serious opponent, Sill can become overwhelmed by his inability to create laughter. In such case, the Will of Sill alters into a hulk-like increase in strength that leaves everything he touches covered in a restricting, pink goo. The Will of Psyche is a telepathic technique that allows Psyche to manifest either images or a tangible creature and/or item that is a representation of his target's fear(s), however, he can only do this to one target at a time. The Will of Sik is unlike the others in that once Sik becomes enthralled, he is nearly unstoppable. Blasting holes through him, removing limbs, etc. will be completely irrelevant. He becomes masochistic as after 2 minutes, the Will of Sik will inflict equal damage to the person whom inflicted it.

Healing/Restoration Technique: Taiyou can revert other humans by placing a mask onto their face, however, he cannot do this if he is wearing a mask. His healing ability, similarly, is the ability to place a mask on another individual. If they are wounded, Taiyou can remove the mask to heal almost any injury, including lethal ones. This also applies to himself; upon removing any mask, he is almost instantly healed. The cost is obviously the limited amount of times he can do this before sleep.

Last Resort: Desperate Guise Taiyou can summon a special mask with inverted colors. This mask may only transform Taiyou into Sik, however, Taiyou has little control during this transformation. In this state, Sik may use the passive abilities of Sill and Psyche in addition to unlocking a new Will of the Jester. If Sik uses Will of the Jester while Desperate Guise is activate, it turns into Psychosis of the Jester in which he draws power from the damage he inflicts. Whereas his former ability was masochistic, this new Will is sadistic. He grows in strength with the more pain he inflicts. Sik is forced to focus on a target, however, this does not stop him from hurting anyone else around him. Alll of the damage inflicted to his target by Sik at the end of this ability is inflicted onto Taiyou before he is healed. If Taiyou cannot withstand the damage he inflicts, he will die. If he does, he will be healed fully and left unconscious. There is no in-between.

Combos: N/A

Personality: Taiyou naturally is a very intelligent individual. He scores some of the highest grades within his entire district. Aside from that, he is very 'dull'; although he plays video games as most teenagers do, he rarely goes out to do anything with his few friends. As a matter of fact, he rarely does anything but play games and schoolwork. This isn't entirely his choice. Taiyou has grown up in a wealthy household were his father constantly pressures him to be the best and score the highest in every field he possibly can as he wishes for Taiyou to break the glass ceiling he has been stuck at. This has left very little time for any real recreational activities for Taiyou aside from whatever games he could sneak onto his computer, thus this has left Taiyou very little time or opportunities to develop and understand whom he really is.

Brief Bio: Taiyou comes from a very wealthy background were his father is a very high-ranking executive within a clothing distribution company. Taiyou is the oldest child, and has been pressed with the burden of carrying on the family legacy since birth. His lifetime has been spent with tutors and in the most advanced schools that Japan has to offer, mostly just studying and developing his real world skills. His father has always intended on Taiyou, whom proved gifted at a young age, to push even further than he did and become one of the highest ranking executives within his company after he shoots Taiyou through the ranks to give him an early-life advantage. That said, there truly isn't much to the background of Taiyou. He has never felt the need for rebellion, nor does he excel in any one area. His favorite subject, however, is psychology, and he sailed through it fast enough to leave no available classes left until he moves on to college. That said, Taiyou's life has been even more dull than normal, as he can't even study his favorite subject.

That is... until he received the Badge of Humor.

Opinions?
I know, I know. It's not your fault. Not anyone's, really. Some ideas just don't get enough light to kick off.
Despite plentiful interest, my classes are starting and no one really followed through in a timely manner. I'm putting this roleplay down for a while.
I rarely express interest in other roleplay, but I do love the Avatar world and I have immense faith in Vance as a GM. That said, I'll have a CS up either by today or Monday. Unless, of course, my notoriety precedes me enough to be discluded.
Oh man, Lillian took on a sexy new image.
It's nice to see that there's still friction, even without my presence; although, admittedly, I've just been busy.

I do have the ability to relate to Accord here. There have been situations where I feel like I have had to hold the hand of a roleplayer as they 'designed' a character for a more advanced setting without the real ability or experience to do so. In the instances where a character must be tethered quite heavily to a setting, by methods such as prior plot exposure or supervised fabrication of new events, additions and editions to the roleplay, some players simply aren't far enough along the developmental pathway to perform these tasks as sufficiently as one would wish for the roleplay. In such situation, I grow intensely frustrated when, at those points, said players become ungrateful for the time, effort and in some more radical cases the fact you made a majority of the character for them to play. This is most evident when there is any kind of IC ranking system or stratification that these players wish to be part of. At these times, when several alternatives have been handed out and when you have given every extra inch that is available, frustration is inevitable.

This is an instance, primarily, where a many of those here would have simply weeded out the individual far beforehand as they seemed to lack the potential to effectively participate, so this is a level of frustration I don't see a whole lot of people here... being very sympathetic with. I make personal efforts to outreach to players willing to put forth as much effort as you do in character creation. No player will ever get better if they're continuously denied, or not given advanced experience; trial by fire, even if they get burned, often teaches far more than attaining tons of experience in lower tier roleplays.

Regardless, there is another point to be made. An idea that is 'good' to the GM or 'good' to a Lore Master might not be the elements that a roleplayer is working for. It is hugely important to keep in mind that within all characters exists the potential for intricacies, logical (often psychological) justifications and overall a central theme being aimed for. Nothing is 'perfectly' good regardless. It is important to remember that essentially all things are subjective to personal interpretation. That said, I again don't feel like this issue at all is one related to skill as much as it is one related to attitude and the Roleplayer-GM dynamic. This isn't a single-sided situation here, and we don't know the exact details, and I highly doubt a thread dedicated to judging situations such as these in an unbiased, courtroom style manner would last long or even hold much real importance aside from entertainment value.
I started in tabletops. Dungeons and Dragons 3rd Edition with a few expansions. I honestly don't remember too much about it. We sat around a table, partook of our inspiration, and played. Vampire: The Masquerade and Savage Worlds (my favorite) followed. Been nearly a decade, and Savage Worlds was actually fairly recent so my opinion might be a bit biased.
Room for plenty, miss Green. :D
Bump.
