Cateline nodded deftly to the bold words of Azalea, trusting her as a woman of her word, simply to let her know she had been heard. She saw the wolves rumble in violent shocks of white, circling closer to Jorn and Angriff, and saw the former be thrown from his seat. Heard the awful sound of a sharp wolf-bite hitting its mark, fangs into supple flesh, and the rumbling growls of the wolves behind it. Her senses were fully alive, the smell of blood further mixing into the soft sent of the icey woodlands. None of it shook her aim as her fired arrow struck one of the vicious creatures charging at the two with the innocent child, after the knight slashed the most immediate threat, deterring the creature.

She mutters, “Such horrid beasts do not know when to give up,” then glances behind herself, gauging the distance between the other wolves and where her horse temporarily resides. “Should you need my help,” she says firmly to Azalea, “Shout.” She had just enough time to see Zoltan extinguish one of the charging wolves’ lives, before turning back. They had better chances, now, but the rest of their party was in trouble.

Cateline had made the choice of her next target, nocking a third arrow into place and aiming at a second white wolf nearer to Jorn and Angriff, as they were sorely outnumbered. The downed man would need all the help he could get, with no horse and little time to react. She pulled the string taut, fingers placed delicately above and below the nock of the arrow, with her other hand firmly clasping the grip out in from of her. With a twang, she fired her next shot, fletching hissing through the air.

She whistled sharply to her hawk, giving it a brief command with the flick of her hand to strike at the wounded wolf when given a chance, or to at least distract it and push it away from the rest of the pack. The fowl was smart enough to know that it should err on the side of caution, as it was much smaller than the canine predators, and could easily be torn apart. It held a fair distance as long as the wolves stayed clumped tightly together, waiting for an opening to strike.

Kai had been wandering for so long.

She’d uplifted herself from everything important to her when the unique abilities she possessed had begun to manifest. She was dangerous, and she knew it. Knew that any unforeseen action could bring harm to that which she loved. Kai did not wallow in this small grief, this self-imposed loss, but took it as a chance to start anew. To be a better person than before, with none of the history. At least, she would try.

It was only a matter of time before she stumbled upon the carnival. It was her type of place from the start: a celebration of all things different in the world. At first, the enormity of the fair surprised her, and she took a moment to absorb all the different sites, sounds, and smells. Audibly she mumbles to herself, “Truly amazing,” before walking deeper into the wonderland.

Leona was curious as well, looking over to Dresden. "Yes, I would like to know more about this 'process' as well. Much about the island and it's inhabitants remains secret to me. Perhaps you can shed some light on the matter." She had swarms of images running through her mind, some good and some bad. Anything from a magical fairy world filled with light and laughter, to a a dark and drab place of studying and boredom: not unlike the life she was leaving behind. Perhaps it would be a mix of both. While everything seemed pleasant enough, she still had many darker suspicions about what was to come.

Name: Kai Keller
Age: 20
Ability: Fire conjurer and eater, she can be a trick at a lightshow or a dangerous force of nature.
Bio: Kai finds power and release through her ability, though it frightens most of those close to her. Estranged from society, she herself has grown a bit twisted. Her past is mostly behind her, having lost contact with any friends or family she may have once had in her short adulthood.
Leona settled in for the long haul as well, making herself comfortable for the rest of the flight. It seemed that Rosalie had been through the same strange experience as she had, and knew the same amount as her. At least, if it was all just a trick, she wouldn't have to face it completely alone.
She wrote down Rosalie's name in her notebook along with the others she had put there, and waited for either further instruction, or for their journey to begin again.

@RavenTLark Leona had seen her come in, watching curiously. "I'm Leona. It's nice to meet you." She closed her notebook filled with drawings as Dresden address them, looking forward with interest. While everything was still very strange, the girl beside her seemed quite nice and normal, and that set her closer to something like ease. Leona saw her pull out a photo, but in the interest of not ease dropping, she didn't look at the picture's content.
This seems pretty fun, either way you decide to take the joining characters! I'd be interested.
Leona nodded to him, a bit surprised. She has assumed Dresden was working closely with Null, but that train of thought had just been thoroughly derailed. This entire business was so mystifying, all she could was hope that it wasn't some elaborate prank. As he gave her a few instructions before departing, she looked outside, her breath lightly fogging up the plexiglass of the window in a little cloud of heat.
When they had landed, Leona decided a walk would do her good, to clear her mind and to keep her legs from falling asleep. She was sure to say within eye shot of their aircraft. The last thing she wanted was to become lost in a foreign country without her baggage. It was terribly cold outside, so she brought her cloak closer around herself, shivering with a little gust of wind as it blew past.
Sounds like fun! I'm interested.
