Katherin smiled in the direction of the new voices. She wasn't looking directly at him but slightly to the side of him. She was surprise to hear the voice of a toddler. She didn't know they had anyone that young here. It saddened her that someone so young had lost their family. "Welcome Iris and Dimitrios. My name is Katherin."

Iris noticed the cane and Katherin's slightly off line of sight, and put two and two together to figure out why she hadn't gone for the handshake. He pretended as if he never offered in the first place.

"Nice to meet you, Katherin. If you don't mind me asking, what do you do?"

Iris turned to the person who seemed to be greeting him and his brother.

"Thanks! I'm Iris, and this is Dimitrios, but I usually just call him Dimitri." Iris said extending out a hand for a handshake. "And you are?"

"Eewoo" Dimitrios said, seemingly trying to say hello.

Iris thanked the woman and walked inside. He headed upstairs and looked for the room with the most activity, and he found it. He walked in and quickly surveyed the room, finally seeing the pile of skittles and gave a confused look.

"Ooh. OOOH!" Dimitrios had noticed them too, but was not as confused as he was hungry. He started squirming, and Iris had to lean over and reach back to make sure Dimitrios didn't fall from his position in Iris' back. Dimitrios started to do a small toddler run towards the colorful pile before picking up some skittles and quickly ate a few. Iris walked over and picked him up, surprised when Dimitrios sticks out a hand with three if the small candies, which Iris accepted.

"I hope you don't mind sharing with a small child." Iris said to the pair that seemed to own the pile of skittles. "These are actually really good."

Iris sat down in the seat nearest the skittle pile, hoping to be able to grab some more later.

"Of course. However this is a very special orphanage. I can only allow special children to stay here. Are you special?" She asked..

"I would like to say I am" Iris replied, flashing a bit of lime green in the space between them. "Though I am not completely sure about my brother, I have my suspicions." Iris tried to keep the most convincing face on when he had said that.

Dimitrios had shown no signs of having any abilities, but he still wasn't even a toddler. Iris knew that some other orphanages are known to kick out people like him, and though Iris would be able to hide it pretty well, if Dimitrios started showing signs of some power, he didn't want to be cast out. He stood there hoping that the housekeeper would let Dimitrios stay regardless of whether he had any abilities or not. A place without his little brother was not a place Iris wanted to be.

The door opened to reveal a grumpy looking lady, presumably the housekeeper.

"We would like a place to stay." Iris said in response to the grumpy lady's question.

Iris stood on the front steps of the orphanage, staring at the door. It felt good to have a place where he was pretty much promised the safety of his baby brother.

"Dimitri, look. It's our new home. Ya wanna knock?" Iris asked Dimitrios, who gave an excited squeal before being lifted off of his brothers back and held in front of the door. Dimitrios' knocks were light so Iris followed them up with a few of his own before returning his brother to his previous position and waited.

I like them. Accepted. It'll be interesting to see if his powers can effect Katherin.

Since she's blind (unless I'm looking at the wrong Katherin, though I'm pretty sure I'm not) she probably wouldn't be able to see it most times, though if she ever made him mad enough to use the physical side of it (a.k.a: try to hurt his brother) she would definitely feel it. Then again, I could be wrong and Katherin has some way of sensing it.

Also, I'm guessing I'll be knocking on the door in my first post in the IC?
