I like it. Your character would have to know a lot about chemistry to use it and not poison their teammates.

EDIT: I guess we're tied right now, for where we're going. I'll wait on posting it anywhere until the rest of us has voted.
Hikari had climbed inside, scaling the walls to get a better feel for the building. There had been an open window on one of the higher up levels, and climbing inside revealed it was her room. She wondered how they knew would be anxious to climb the building, but instead noted how much of her stuff they'd moved over for her. They'd moved everything, which wasn't much, and arranged it in a way that she didn't have to worry about it for now. So she headed downstairs, quietly moving to grab a drink from the fridge. She heard a little of the conversation, but didn't want to be in a big crowd again.

This is a very interesting an idea. I'm thinking about a dual soul character but have a question before I do. You said that dual souls are like Jekyll and Hyde, but I was wondering do the dual souls have their own varying alignment? Using the example would Jekyll have a white or light grey soul and Hyde would have black or dark grey soul?

Yes. They're two separate entities so they would have different alignments. While in the castle you have to play them as two different people, since more often than not they are two sides of a coin and oppose each other. When outside they are one person who argue amongst each other. They can tag in and out for the body, but they still retain any damage done to it.

On another note, where would you guys like this to go? Free RP or Casual?

So you're saying the two abilities a person chooses need to be connected to each other? By that I mean, something like controlling metal and rocks vs controlling air and rocksOr would it be connected to the user like someone traumatized by fire getting an 'anti-fire' ability?Or a combination of both?

Hmmm. I would say they do need to be connected, and definitely connected to the user since the powers are well... powered by soul of the user. To be hinest that's one of the things I haven't thought about nearly as much. Also, these powers naturally won't affect normal people, no matter what.

What are the standard student ages?

Student ages range from 14-18. There have been incidents where the school has taken in younger, but they won't be able to go out into the field until they are fourteen.

Okay, stop me if I'm wrong here, but it says priests can be of any soul type, yes? Does this include pure souls?Because if it does, I was thinking a pure white soul with the primary power to sap his strength to heal the wounds of others.

Pure white souls don't happen until you've died with an extremely light grey soul. You haven't done anything that caused harm to another human being no matter the circumstances, in a human this would be an extremely light grey soul. This is because humans have the potential to slowly change the alignment of the souls through various actions. Therefore humans cannot have a pure white soul until they die, and angels avoid humans because they're pretentious.
arrgh why did you eat my post internet rargh

Hollow souls are souls that have literally no alignment until they come in contact with a purely black or white soul. They can then take on all the traits of that soul.
There's also Dual souls which are one body two minds, like for example Jekyll and Hyde.
Twin-souls are conjoined twins who share a part of their soul with each other.

As for abilities these are more specialized to each character and I also want to keep tabs on what powers special souls and regular souls get. Naturally under soul alignment I would need a description for special souls. What their drawbacks and strengths are, for example.
Actually I'll have sort of a space on the sheet for soul alignment, especially since I want to watch and see if anyone takes and sort of special soul.

So far we seem to have a decent group set up. I'll try and start the thread tomorrow sometime. In the meantime:
Here's the CS, you guys can put them up here for now and then in the thread when we start. (Please note that I'm going to be a little more harsh on special souls just because these are trickier to fit within this world's universe. Also some things may not make sense because I pre-made this sheet for another site and thus will be referencing non-existent rules.)

Gender:
Age:
Weapon: (Long as it can be used as a weapon, then it can go here. Giant ninjas stars? Sure. Unarmed? Just put some special gloves. Pictures can be linked, or you can describe it in four sentences.)
Appearance: (Link an image with a brief description, or just go for a description. Please note sometimes I won't be able to see these images until later in the day. If these are broken, you're responsible for replacing it.)
Abilities: (You're limited to two. They can be almost anything, but they won't hurt anything but evil things. You can't use these on humans. These can grow in strength when in a Blister Area. But no, they can't just destroy a Blister with a thought. Nice try, Mary.)
Soul Alignment: (There is a spectrum, ranging from light grey to dark grey. Unless you're a Hollow or a special soul, you get a range of grey.)
Personality: (Eight. Sentences.)
History: (Just end up at the Castle somehow. Eight sentences please.)
Weaknesses: (Fears, lack of experience, or anything that could be a chink in your armor. I want three put here please.)

im still lurking atm, was wondering could i play a "scout role" like a priest but not as strong, basic duty's would be to search for all the bad shit in the citys then report to the priests if i cant handle it myself (which would be most of the time) ?

Yes, it is possible.

Cool. Just checking. It says that they can be any religion, soul type, etc. So would it be acceptable to make a student who's pretty dark? Like a student who would likely grow up to be an antagonist or antihero at the very best???

Oh yeah. I actually wanted to have some variety, so dark grey souls are most certainly welcome. Antiheroes are definitely a plus.

Seems interesting, and there is quite a lot of information to swallow in one setting there. But I'm concerned people will starting getting confused with so much information on this. Even I'm a bit confused at the moment myself. The Ghosts, Blisters etc. seem to be the monsters that are fought in combat the way you explained it, is that correct?

I know. That's mostly why I hesitated putting it all up there at first. I have to parce it down some, but I don't think that I really can at the moment. But yes, normal mortals are usually immune to fighting soul weapons. There are also Angelists, sort of like cultists who want to prevent death and who summon Blisters that are nearby. These are the three main supernatural phenomena outside of the Horsemen which we likely will never see.
Mostly priests in training. When the RP starts my thought is that we'll all be put together (character wise at least) into a group and work together on missions.

If you want to make a teacher though, go ahead. The only problem is the group will definetly go off 'campus' and basically leave the teachers in the dust.
I didn't post it because it was a lot of information, but I'll post it here and answer any questions you have.
Also, this might be going into Casual RPing, but it depends on who all is comfortable with what level.

Priests: These guys can be of any religion, race, gender, or soul type. What matters is that they can enter the bubbles between dimensions and destroy the monsters within them. They usually have a soul bound weapon that they can use to vanquish these monsters as well as abilities that only they can use. Priests are what you'll be playing as.

Soul Weapons: Forged out of the soul energy of a Priest, they can take literally any shape as long as the Priest can use it. These are more powerful against Blisters and Demons, and doesn't affect humans or ghosts at all. At most they tickle mortals.

Blisters: Not to be confused with the kind that appear on your skin, these are commonly people who have died a violent death and and are sort of 'stuck' between worlds. They retain the shape they were in when they died, i.e., they have stab wounds, contorted limbs, all sorts of fun stuff. If left alone over a long time, they manifest in this dimension as a sort of 'ghost imprint'. If left alone even longer, they manifest as a monster in the real world, keeping the form they died in and basically eating the living out of jealousy.

Ghosts: Someone who has more business to do, but died a relatively peaceful death. They can only be seen by people who can mediate. These ghosts can enter Blister Areas, but they are only as useful as they were when they were alive. In other words, not very useful.

Blister Areas: When a Blister is formed, they create an area similar to where they died. The longer a Blister has existed, the larger and more twisted the Blister Area appears.

Angelists: Crazy lunatics that think they can convince Priests and the Angel/Horseman of Death to turn back the flow of Death. They'll go to any length to attain their goals. They can summon Blisters at will and use their soul energy to have the Blister to be able manifest.

The Four Horsemen: Beings that are banded together by the Angel of Death, but other than that they couldn't be more different. They keep balance and order, but prefer to keep to themselves.

Bi-Dimensional: Okay, so we live in one universe and the dead cross to the other. Sometimes more violent souls get stuck between them and bleed back through into our dimension. As you can guess, this is very, very bad. Priests can travel into the spaces between dimensions, but anyone who has attempted to cross over completely has never come back.

Soul Types:
Black: Pure black souls don't exist in humans outside of a few exceptions. These typically belong to people who were murderers and died a violent death. They become demons, which after a short amount of time in a Blister Area, manifest in the real world and possess people. They tend to be silver tongued and violently resistant to crossing over.
Grey: Average soul. Neither good nor bad. All humans have a range of grey souls.
White Souls: Typically belonging to Angels, or people who have died that have kind souls. Mother Theresa would be an Angel, for example. There aren't many of these.
Hollow Souls: These souls are empty until acted upon by a White or Black soul. This usually means touching one or being near one depending on the strength of the soul. They are compelled to do whatever the soul they have tells them to do until they absorb it completely. Then they continue to be influenced by that soul alignment, often time presenting traits from that soul. Until they have a black or white soul, this presents as depression, or an absence of feelings, empathy, or just emptiness in general. These souls are rare, formed by typically a lonely childhood or a 'birth defect' that leaves the child listless and in a vegetable state until their soul is filled. Typically it is the former.
So, I've had this idea where children with special powers are raised to fight monsters that are formed when people die violent deaths, but I'm not sure who all would join.

It's based a little on Soul Eater, but mostly my own idea. Anyone wanna join? I've got more details, but I want to know if anyone would actually join first.
