Someone must. Someone.

Maybe Naoto uses some kind of fancy footwork thing? He's got that soccer thing goin' for him. Or he could totally just use guns. Let the cycle repeat again, like with Tsuna and the gloves.
Dangit Eb.:C

I'll think on another weapon, then. Might go back to the katana though... Now I have to fuss around with sword styles.

I chose chakrams because I was just thinking what kind of weapon for her to use and they came to mind. There wasn't much thought until afterward.
In other news, I've changed Jak's weapon. It's a chakram and wires now, since I didn't want to figure out what kind of style she'll use for the katana. I know nothing about swordfighting anyway.
Jak listened to Sonya. So... she represented rain? And Naoto's Mom was a Mafioso? This is all so crazy... For a moment, Jak's brow was scrunched in thought. When she looked up again, she saw the others, all worried about the position as much as she was. Jak laughed, "Well, no good will come of thinking too hard about this right now." Jak picked up her bag and slung it over her shoulder. "I'm gonna go home and think about it. Although... I might just accept the offer. I can't say no if I'm exactly who they want for a job." she smiled and just walked away, thinking more on the rest of the implications of the offer.
On one hand, she would be working for a mafia family. On the other, she'd be working for Naoto. Naoto seemed like a kid who had potential but never wanted to use it. Besides, he seemed too afraid of breaking the law to actually do anything illegal. She folded her hands behind her head, and stared at the sky. "Well, nothing bad can happen if I just roll with it."
With that, Jak turned into the cemetery and walked to her father's grave. She sat down and placed the flowers parallel to the grave. "So, Dad. You won't believe it, but there's a mafia woman in town and someone she knows set the festival on fire and... oh man, I can only hope to keep visiting, because it looks like things might be getting busy around here."

What's meant by subordinates? Faceless goons? I could do that I guess.

More like other people to fill out ranks. More people to interact with is better off for the others. Think of subordinates like supporting characters, they are a part of the action and often can help the other characters overcome obstacles. It'd be boring to have a bunch of characters who have a higher 'rank' but never interact significantly with their subordinates.
Sam put on her straight face when Jen said that she'd been in Curdon Cay for eight years. Lucky moron... Sam ended up biting her lip, trying to hold in her anger. I wish I had only eight years. By my math my time would be about fifteen years. Sam said nothing until Scorn spoke, asking whether or not she wanted to split up. Sam thought about it for a moment. "I really don't have anywhere else to be. So we could go to the HQ if you want... also, would you mind if I slept there while I'm in town? I don't really have anywhere else to crash except on a rooftop..."
At least with Scorn she didn't have to worry about being belittled. Sam liked not having to pretend that she was afraid of her powers, but she was afraid of it too. If Sam messed up then people died. If she wasn't careful about her own power use, then she'd become a monster. She'd heard that norms were monsters too, but she'd never known that other Conduits were afraid of her too. If she managed to strike a Conduit with a Blood Spike or some of her transformed blood, then it was over for them. She hated that look in their eyes as they realized that they'd lost.
If these Syndicate guys were masked, then maybe she wouldn't see that look any of their faces. Sam was certain she couldn't stand it if she could see it, anyway. Regardless if they were trying to kill her only moments before. Ugh. Why do these things always have to be so complex?
I think we might be waiting on… Smarty, possibly.
So let me get this straight.

Sebastian controls 'ghosts', Scorn controls shadows, and Sam controls blood. Lovely lineup of horrors right there. XD
Sam watched the argument. "Sorry, but the 'sidekick' agrees with Logic boy over there. Rushing in will get us all killed. First off we need recon, and if we pay off a couple norms they can blend in and watch for us without tipping any idiot Syndicate grunts off." Sam stood from her stool and strode over to the two people who had been arguing. The word sidekick was filled with so much venom and malice, Sam was faintly surprised that she could summon that much anger into a single word.
"I never agreed to rush in blindly, we all need time to set up an ambush since we have the element of surprise. The quicker we can take care of the guys in the museum the better. Or would you prefer that the sidekick butted out?" Sam spoke with a strange authority, mostly fueled by the sidekick comment from earlier. She wasn't interested in staying Scorn's shadow, and she'd had enough of being ignored.
She'd had enough of that just about her whole life. Abandoned once she was discovered to be a conduit, locked in a small cell, left alone to be tortured on and off, and finally put in a coma after wanting something more out of her life. Sam hated being ignored, but she didn't like long winded speeches either.
"I volunteer Logic Man for getting Sand Chick back home, since he's pointing out how drunk we all apparently are, it's only fair that he gets to make sure we all make it home." Sam shot him a dirty look, and then glared daggers at the guy who said that she was a sidekick. She thought he might have been called Eli, but that was guess. She sat back down next to Scorn, mildly irked. "Apologies for losing my a cool a bit there, but if anyone calls me sidekick again… I know the best vein to block off for paralysis."
I just spent a huge chunk of time doing homework. Bluh. Sorry if I have a short fuse.

Then we're just waiting on Gerad then. Someone should bother him.
