Speaking of Halloween, my friends and I were just discussing last night how one might feasibly light oneself on fire when we go trick-or-treating, imagine opening your door to a flaming trick-or-treater. It started out as a joke but now I think they are serious. Someone is going to die this October.

No idea what I'm doing, but I think people should just be honest about what they're feeling it makes things so much simpler. You don't like me? Okay, that's one less thing I have to worry about. You do like me? I don't feel the same way but I'm glad you told me so I can just be aware of that and not like, accidentally hurt your feelings by not knowing.

I guess for a plot maybe they create a creature that does not want to be in the arena, and wants to escape by force, and maybe the other creatures that support the tournament have to help and try to stop the creature?
And they'd be trying to cover it up too, since if the public found out that they were being forced to fight each other there'd probably be an outcry for social justice (PETA or whatever, someone would be angry) and that could threaten the whole industry.

History: In contrast to the majority of players post-announcement, Clarence felt a thrill of excitement. Like, he knew he should feel bad, or scared, or at least disappointed. However, it was one of the most dramatic things to have ever happened to him, and he thrived. He started out as a solo player, following the help book from the beta testers to the letter, and having lots of previous experience in MMO games he leveled up relatively quickly. He drifted back and forth between a handful of guilds, but generally would quickly grow bored of level-clearing, preferring to take on solo quests that allowed him to explore and level up his skills. He also didn't really like sharing quest items.
Regardless of his miserly ways, Clarence played really well with others, and was valued by his friends for his cooking skills and his quick wit. Of course he wanted to clear the game eventually, but not being particularly driven he wasn't in any hurry. In fact, he suspected early on that he may have been happier in this virtual life than his real one, which he hardly ever talks about to anyone.
Recently, the last guild he was in broke up over player disagreements, and he has been trying to start his own, not for any reason other than to pass the time and get acquainted with other players.

Here's a tip: if you're too lazy to make a costume there are a ton of online sales after Halloween for costumes on the net, so at least you'll have something for next year.
Y'all just want an excuse to wear a costume. Don't be contained by the social paradigms. Wear a costume whenever and wherever you want.

So I told my best friend at college that I like him.
We were sitting outside, it was about 1 AM and a group of us had just dispersed after some grand storytelling. I'd texted him earlier that I wanted to tell him something, this was right before break and I knew if I didn't get it out before then I'd go crazy, so I'm pretty sure he knew what was coming. Heck, we're best friends, of course he did. So once we were alone, I just out and said it, and honestly it was the easiest thing I've ever done.
He thanked me for telling him, said he was flattered but didn't feel the same way, which I pretty much expected (I was actually relieved) and he was really cool about it. I wasn't even a little disappointed, just glad that he knew. After that we stayed out and just talked, until about 4 AM, about pretty much everything. It was so incredibly nice and I couldn't stop thinking how grateful I was to have such a good friend.
It's been about a month since then, and we're still cool, in fact I think we're better friends because of it. It's not weird or awkward, we still do the same things we always did, and I guess I'm just really happy how well it all turned out. So yeah, moral of the story is don't be afraid to tell your best friend that you have a thing for them I guess. Maybe we'll date in the future (he kind of alluded to that, he had a lot of personal reasons for not wanting to be in a relationship right now), but maybe not. I don't think I mind either way really. I'm just happy.
