Ive seen a lot of super hero rps on these forums. Super heroes are meant to represent the best of humanity. I think it would be more interesting to tell a more human story. A story with more moral ambiguity than the comics( the name of the rp is meant to be ironic). This will be a high casual rp. Also before anyone says their interested please understand that means me and the other players will be relying on you to be at least somewhat active. I ran another rp that never got off the ground because the people who said they were interested never participated. Anyway with that disclaimer out of the way I'll set up the world.
The year is 2055. To someone who existed 40 years earlier it's a somewhat disappointing future. Yes technology is a lot better. The internet is faster. Limbs can be replaced with robotic parts(although the technology is in the early stages). Still it was nothing like the utopia many people had imagined. There was no alien contact( as far as the common people know). Affordable space travel is still a long ways out of reach. Humanity still hasn't colonized mars despite decades of people saying they would. There is no flying cars. 3rd world countries are still shitty. People still die as much as they always did. Politics is still the same joke of a show put on to appease people to make them feel like their government isn't corrupt. Though one major development happened in recent years. Lately more and more people have been appearing with strange abilities. Some would call them super powers. No one knows where these powers come from. Not even the people who have them. Many people use these powers to commit crimes both major and minor. Others who had perhaps read one too many comics decided they were super heroes and villains. Some just mind their own business. Still as far most people were concerned they were freaks. People feared and hated them. Governments all of the world outlaw their very existence in public. If discovered these people would be either killed or hauled away in a van never to be seen again. You happen to be one of these unfortunate individuals. You live in the city of New York. It's a super powered war zone. Police control the city under martial law. In this world full of disorder would you dare to be a hero?

Appearance: picture or description or both.
Age: I'd prefer most characters be adults but the lowest ill accept is 16.
Gender: Self explanatory.
Power: Don't make it overpowered. You can have more than one power if the powers somehow tie together but keep it reasonable.
Bio: Your character's back story. It should explain their motivations, the moment they got their powers, how they got in New York, how they live their life, etc.

Other:Anything I might have missed. This one is optional.
For the record try not to make your characters too over powered. I don't want any super mans/incredible hulks. Most of the conflicts will be humans and I can't have you ripping through them like paper.
