Rennac turned to Jackdaw and nodded. "Did get an interesting reading. From what I can tell there was no hacking attempt and the system wasn't compromised, least not the computer. I had to supply power from my wrist computer but I was able to find the error log it put out before all systems went dead. It would look like a typical power failure but there was no surges or spikes in power typical of this kind of failure. It just all cut out like it was hit with an EMP blast. However that's impossible since the only thing that was affected was the dropship. Best I could guess is that whatever hit us was either a directional based EMP weapon or it was an electro magnetic field calibrated to cut out those specific systems. However I've never heard of any such weapons existing nor any research going into those concepts." He turned in surprise to Ryder, more surprised by the fact he could talk. "Something cut the power to the ship when we passed the atmosphere. Trying to figure out what." He turned back to Jackdaw, a thoughtful expression visible on his face through the visor. "Whichever one it is, it would explain why this place went dark."
Rennac sat back and moved to enjoy the ride, hanging onto his seat for the rough patches until things went to hell. All of a sudden it felt like the ship just died in mid air, as if struck by the virus. There didn't seem to even be any sign of the ship being hit. As soon as they began to free fall he cursed and clung to his seat. "Fuck! Everyone hang on!" He clung to his seat for the duration of the bumpy ride, eyes going wide as he saw the ship tear and Varus get swept away. "VARUS!" With a final lurch he felt the ship stop, unhooking his harness and moving to a panel nearby. Not even hesitating he began to do a diagnostic of the system, trying to find out what happened to cause the crash. For now he would do his job and wait for the others to come up with a plan. Sure, he could make suggestions but it was more likely they would just do the opposite of what he would recommend. Once Jackdaw got out he unhooked from the panel and hopped out, pistols drawn ready in case of an attack. If something did try to disable the ship there was more than likely someone coming that wanting them dead.
Rennac looked up at the unpleasantly shrill noise of Jackdaw whistling to them, making his way over to the group. To say the least he was going to remain quiet until it came time for him to speak. He was no doubt stuck on the ship until the old infiltration team cleared them to go so he went to the back of the drop ship close to Six. He knew to stay out of the way until they actually decided to give him a shot. Still, it was frustrating to say the least, being distrusted and treated with practically suspicion just because he was the new guy. He figured Dresden was a lost cause, knowing she would likely not even give him the time of day even if he proved himself. Jackdaw seemed more professional and just didn't want any liabilities. Taerys was more a mystery to him, not having seen much of her till now though she did have that same somewhat professional demeanor to her. He couldn't help but smirk knowing the two had a bit more in common than they would ever admit. Ryder, well, he pretty much made the wolf temporarily deaf before the mission even started with that blasted roar, making a note to himself to get some sound dampeners for himself when just on the ship. Varus at least seemed fair about how he was treating the new tech, giving him the benefit of a doubt until he lost that privilege. The wolfen donned his helmet and prepared to depart, ready to hack the system and disable one of the wrist computer uplinks to the ship if one of them failed to install the new security protocols.
Rennac was taking note as everyone was starting to arrive one by one, seeing most of the team already arriving for the most part. What intrigued him though was another new guy, apparently one of the other infiltrators. If the crew was hostile with him they almost treated Six like another enemy. This was something he could at least relate to in some way. As he presented his stratagem he was deafened by the loud roar coming from behind Varus. Immediately his hands flew over his ears and tried to block out the sound which was intensified by his specie's natural heightened senses. He stumbled a bit and leaned against the ship's door by Six. "Hey, Six right? Don't worry too much about it. They don't trust the new guys till they see what we can do. Just be glad Dresden isn't here. Shoulda seen her react when I suggested we upgrade the wrist computers for antivirus. Basic thing and she flipped out because I was the one who suggested it." He was talking slightly louder due to the ringing still in his ears, something he managed to get used to for bullets nad explosions but nothing like the roar or anything sonic.
Rennac nodded figuring it was the most suitable plan. It also gave him a bit more of a look into Varus's personality. He wasn't one to take unneeded risks and followed the book. He also didn't seem to be one for rush tactics. Something he was quite happy for. Noticing Jack he nodded and shifted off the crate, letting Jack have access to the contents. He was surprised she needed anything in there though since he was almost certain it wasn't labeled for weapons or food provisions. In the meantime he tapped onto his wrist computer and smiled. "I retrieved a layout plan of the colony from the database and analysed it. According to the plans, there is a residential area along the east wall protecting the area. We can either land outside it and scale over or use the residential square if we don't see anything that would make the LZ unsafe. There's also a sentry tower along the wall on that side that would make a good sniper's roost. Could use it to get an overhead view of the situation." He was unsure if Varus did the area analysis and plotted out good estimated cover sites or tactical locations, but he figured it would be better to have and not need than to need and not have. If nothing else, it would coincide with what was in his report at least, considering he had made his way in Black Ops due to his quick thinking and adaptability.
Four freaking days either doing basic upkeep, training when Jack or one of the other members of the ship that despised him weren't using it, or being cramped in his room playing games to pass the time. Well, the last one wasn't so bad considering he found it most invigorating but still. He saved his progress and went to the armory, donning his modified armor and prepping his pistols and knife, grabbing two silencers for his pistols should he need to kill quietly from afar. Doing one final check on his gear, weapons, and armor he made his way down to the hanger. Soon enough he managed to arrive shortly after Varus, taking a seat on one of the crates of supplies there once he was sure it wasn't filled with either machine parts or weaponry. God knows he would get flack from either Dresden or Jackdaw if they saw him using one of those crates as a chair. "Good to see you sir. How will we be running this op? Have the infiltration team move in first to clear the area before the rest of the ground team arrives or go in all at once?"
Rennac's mood was somewhat improved by the attitude of the other technicians who were on board the Argent Dawn, having been able to whack through the updates while he got an in depth look at much of the changes to the system they had made. Only a day on and he was already proud of the work his department did. "All thats left is a few of the climate control systems, though the late shift will likely have that finished by tomorrow." Since the updates were almost done he could focus on simply maintaining the system and getting ready for the mission. For now though, he needed rest. He arrived back at his small room, walls still bare for the most part before he reached in his bag and pulled out a simple picture, him and a human both in Black Ops armor chuckling in the barracks.

He smiled at the happy memory for a brief moment before a twinge of sorrow crept through him, knowing no matter how many times he saw the picture, he would never see that smiling face again, all because some idiot thought he was better than his teammates and wouldn't work with them. Half his unit dead and he nearly went and shot the moron who caused it. Still, he was happy enough with how it ended. The moron was dishonorably discharged, stripped of all rank, and lost his pension. The service was memorable though the remaining unit was scattered out through the rest of the Alliance military.

He shook the thought out of his head, thinking on today instead. "Damn, guess today opened an old wound.." He laid down on his bed and pulled out his own computer, setting up some RPG game for him to play and pass the time. Military or not he was still a complete and total geek through and through.
Ok, just posted. If any of you dont know the reference to the joke I'm hoping to set up, you can look here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pqLvFfwcqfw at 8:35
Treavor smirked back at Briam and nodded. "Nice to meet someone who isn't a total bigot. Feel free to let off some steam. Hope you don't mind if I take the big tough stupid one do you? I think it'll be a more satisfying fight for me than it would for you." Of course he was saying all this out loud so everyone, the big tough and stupid ringleader included. Of course, his Iron Defender would bark out and charge as soon as they made a move so he wan't concerned about being snuck up on.
I am tempted to say RP a bit of the trip for character development, but I doubt anything will really happen. I say skip.
