Keyguy, that brings up a million more inconsistencies in the world, seeing as a larger atmosphere would almost certainly have a massive effect on evolution, and as such flora and fauna would be super different.
I understand the science, same. I am the asshole who joins a spreadable-scifi space opera game then makes RKKVs and shit to ruin everyone's fun. Peppermint and Soboerd, my recommendation would be to not try and criticize others and tell them to be smart, but just to play smart and use things the way science says they should be, then balance around that. That is the best way to use science, in low-realism games. One of my favourite things to do is to play in space opera nation RPs and play some shitty underdog single-planet hoot civilization, then fight as equals with massive empires due to science. As a side note, the shore battery to naval gun ratio is in effect before defenses are taken into account - it is simply a statement of accuracy, not of durability, and that number comes from before the 2nd world war, I am almost certain. Side Side note, limbered anti-aircraft guns are very feasible and I am positing that my Nation at least has a piece of semi-mobile artillery that is capable of hitting Elan-powered ships
Unsure how you defend against something moving at .3c, or counter an amalgam of the best traits from thousands of species put into one thing after decades of splicing and testing. Also, now that conservation of energy is complete, it is only a few years before we can fabricate mass, thus making all natural resources pointless due to our infinite amount of freely-creatable materials. if it just looks like a musket, can it not be a musket? Can it be an infinite energy harnessing uberweapon capable of killing from thousands of miles away?
Keyguy, that would be hilarious, because one day one man would remove the gun from his tank and re-create the AT gun. And the world woud be changed forever.
We're doing everything we can to keep armored warfare out. That's why we stopped the Communist Mecha: such things would pave the way for PANZERKAMPF, which while being fucking awesome is not the focus of the game at first. Also, it could not be reducing mass, otherwise people would know, because if mass was reduced not only would the laws of physics be out the window [even more so than now], but also collisions would not be a problem in the slightest.
I think it is mostly a combination of the lack of major modern conflict stopping massive shifts in military thought from happening, and for pure flavor reasons. Also, the GM said that Elan needs to be burned in a big burner in pretty large quantities, so I don't think it is at the point where such things are available for use on small vehicles
Also, the fuck is an alchemical musket? By the same token, the fuck is an electrical musket? I guess alchemy could have to do with the composition of the powder, but electricity would do nothing for a percussion-cap muzzle-loading smoothbore firearm. Maybe I am just misunderstanding, perhaps you could clarify.
BTW, someone who is better at art than me should make an up-to-date map - that MS paint travesty still has Talossa on it, and looks like ass
That lack of answers is disturbing. Since conservation of energy does not exist, my army's new main way of waging war is to use lectrovic cycles to create something going at like .3c, then fire it at the enemy, utterly destroying them with the force of a thousand nuclear bombs. Also, everyone in my nation is a cross between human, bear, wolf, flatworm, turtle, komodo dragon and shark, because biology is fucked in the eye.
You know what - I'm interested in joining. Not sure what the difference between this an God, Gatling and Glory, but whatever. I'll give it a try. I would love to play a nation with an interesting take on imperialism, but first I have some questions. What is causing the continent to become dry? Is irrigation impossible? If people have technology, irrigation from either river tributaries or the water table should be possible. On the technology front: I guess the laws of physics and biology are completely out the window, but that is fine, I am sure you have perfectly good explanations and new models for reality. First for Biology: sewing two animals together makes a new animal that is capable of reproducing the same animal sans thread, presumably. Therefore, DNA does not exist, and things are not nucleic-acid based, seeing as the sewing would not change the DNA of the two separate animals, and be horribly incompatible. Sex organs would also mix the DNA and create something incapable of life due to the complete difference in biological makeup. Therefore: how do cells work, what causes and directs cell division, and how does evolution etc. work without nucleic acid mutations. So electricity is, in simple terms, packets of electrons moving around a circuit, moving charge from one place to another, which can be harnessed to do work. You say it is kinetic energy, which moves through a wire. Kinetic energy therefore works differently in your universe, seeing as kinetic energy does not have charge, so either this is a typo, misunderstanding, or a giant fuck you to the way we understand energy transfer between particles. If it is the latter, I am curious to see what your explanation is. Also, you say that Lectrovic is kinetic energy gaining momentum going through a wire, except that would imply there is another source of the energy that causes the mass moving via the kinetic energy to gain speed and therefore momentum, or you are throwing conservation of energy out the window, which I think is a bold stylistic choice that could be very interesting, but I would need it explained to me. Gerxin seems more straightforward, though why things need to be propelled in a loop is beyond me. Why an engine could not push and pull, spin things, or apply force in myriad other ways is beyond me, but I am sure there is a good reason. Aerogin makes a little amount of sense, though why they need to go through the boiling and freezing process when they could produce things like helium from cooling and natural gas at low temperatures. They could also produce a number of gasses through just mixture, like chlorine, or through electrolysis, like hydrogen. I'll ask about the weapons in a sec.
