I'd like to hope that you're gonna be a little better off in your love life in the future than I am now. How far through high school are you? I know I found it incredibly hard to date while I was there, but college, where I'm just three weeks into my sophomore year, has been so much better for it. So just hang in there and try not to fret too much about the attractive girls who will inhabit your foreign language classes... although those are always the easiest to develop crushes on.

I'm in junior year. I'll do just fine! Romance isn't high on my list, but it would be nice. C:

One was pretty much a worst case scenario and the other one I met on tumblr and dated for six months but we never really got to the whole, well, meeting thing, she being from Alabama and all. The skype calls weren't enough and our undying affection, alas, died. So, yeah, I'm not a Casanova either, but I go on enough casual dates with girls in the area to have a couple of good stories for you.

Holy shit, are you me from the future??? I had a good relationship with a girl from Germany and we talked on-and-off for about a year. We still talk occasionally, but just as friends. I have a little crush on this one girl in my French class but I'm worried it's just based around her appearance. Though she does love space and music and I love both those things. I don't know if she's gay though!!! Ugh, the dating pool for LGBT people in high school is horrendously small.

I can only pray I end up in a situation like that. I mean, I'm about 70% into women and nonbinaries and 30% into dudes/more masculine people, so I could probably be okay everywhere I go. I'm just too shy! Aughhh! The last girlfriend I had, we kissed maybe twice (after a lot of nervousness) and broke up (mutually) within a month. Granted, we were both very shy, so it might have been sort of doomed. :/

I'm sort of ambivalently bisexual, but I'm gonna echo Kaga and say that, well, it's not a topic that comes up much mainly because nobody cares here. You're not gonna get abuse or special treatment for it. It's about as equal as you can get in that regard. You've just got to have a sense of humour about it if it does come up, though, because we're a silly bunch (see "straight pride", above.)

Oh, yeah. I know you guys are cool. c: It's just that LGBT people are hard to come by in my daily life so it's nice to be around people who share similar experiences and can level with me on a more even footing when it comes to dating, community, etc.

I've always felt pretty weird about some allies chucking themselves into the acronym, even if it's only in certain variations. I mean, being supportive can be hard sometimes, but it sort of takes away from the acknowledgement of the struggle that the LGBT+ community faces daily.

Queer, supposedly. I personally can't bring myself to see "queer" as a non-negative term so I've been sticking to the original four-letter abbreviation since that seems to satisfy just about everyone I encounter.

Yeah, I can totally understand the negative connotation, and a few members of the community have been reclaiming it as a more positive catch-all term. Sorry if it offended anybody. :c

I might just not be looking in the right places, but I haven't really seen any LGBTQ threads around. Considering my age I can't really go to pride or clubs/bars or anything of that nature, so this is a decent, more sociable middle ground. Where are you guys?
