Meowka raised a somewhat confused eyebrow at her owner as she was lightly chastised. "Yes ... Ma'am?" Sure it'd been a little mean, but she wanted to join in for the fun as well! Though it seemed like the poor bunny was content to turn tail and run. That was a little disappointing, although that turned into a little frustration instead as the newly dubbed 'Kira' elected to lecture her as well. The cat simply rolled her eyes a bit, but decided not to say anything else lest Mistress Katherine would be upset with her.

Of course the moment Kira was obviously about to re extend her offer Meowka placed a somewhat possessive hand on the teacher's thigh before removing it after a couple seconds of thought. The puppeteer had offered to play with Kira after all, and it wasn't like a simple cat could stop her. The bond would make her thoughts clear to her owner, however.

Maoin only nodded in response and wondered what her nickname would be - would it be cute or fierce or demeaning? Either way, she was quick to obey her owner's next over, and wasn't even really conscious by the time she was placed in the bedroll where she passed out and snuggled the blankets as she drifted off into the land of dreams.

Meowka found herself sighing. Fine, she wouldn't fall asleep in the lap just yet. Of course, she wouldn't be upset about getting a little extra sleep but what was wrong with napping in the cart as they traveled? Seemed to be a lot easier that way - she didn't enjoy walking long distances and the thought of doing so made her groan slightly.

Otherwise she wouldn't have paid much more attention to the conversation until the thesis was brought up, which made Meowka's ears perk up. By the time the Puppeteer looked down at her pet, she'd see the girl was giggling profusely before she managed to agree with a nod, finally sitting up and rubbing against her mistress affectionately as she did so.

"I know springtime is interesting for all sorts of creatures, but I suppose what they say about rabbits is true!" She spoke aloud, but mostly to her mistress. "No wonder you like her so much Mistress Katherine! Do you read these books together?"

Meowka had no idea what a 'thesis' was, much less what any sort of academic paper was like. But she knew what was meant by 'female chest' and any book involving that had to be naughty, especially given the look on Miren's face and her owner's teasing. "I can't read myself, but perhaps you could read a section for 'scholarly' purposes, bunny?"

For a couple of seconds the cat thought for a moment. Talk to the Headmistress? About souls? The kitten wasn't exactly sure what the dragon was thinking, and simply nodded against her. Perhaps it was possible the headmistress could make her a more powerful cat? Either way, the business the dragon had with the Headmistress wasn't hers, but she was thankful the dragon would try and help her. "... thanks ..."

Despite her emotional state, the kitten chuckled slightly. "I ... I hope you keep being stubborn then ... I like you ..." After a couple of moments the cat forced herself to calm down before thinking for a bit. "C-could I have my own pet name?" If the dragon bothered to check she'd notice the cat was pressing into her again, but partially to hide her embarrassment. "Lady Sorcha?"

If a couple more minutes passed without Lady Sorcha choosing to deepen the conversation, Maoin would close her eyes and fall asleep quickly in the comfort of her owner's powerful wings.

"Aha! I knew it!" Meowka went over to the table, her owner likely feeling a bit of pride in the girl as she had figured out her mistress' trick and even gotten a nice petting for it. The cat waited for food to arrive, and gave a brief (and hungry) smile to Miren before her eyes drifted down to the fine fish before her. For a moment her tail swished like as if she was preparing to pounce and her ears twitched before she dived into the meal like she hadn't been fed in a week.

Soon enough, a smiling kitten would return to Mistress Katherine as she sat down, laying on the ground and placing her head into her favorite lap. "I'll go on patrol in a couple of hours if you want. Can't have anyone sneaking up on the woman who feeds me." Moving a single one of Katherine's hands to her head, the cat closed her eyes and prepared to be petted to sleep.

The kitten leaned against the dragoness as she took a few more bites, appreciating the protection and cover her owner's wings provided. As always, Maoin listened attentively - though she frowned as Lady Sorcha spoke, ears falling flat. She knew it had been very close to the end for her, and any number of things would have killed her if things had gone a little differently. She also knew she deserved the additional training she was being assigned - meaning less time off her already growing list of chores, and more days with sore muscles. "Yes, Mistress."

Maoin put down the food bowl as she finished her last bite, pressing harder into Lady Sorcha and buried her face into the powerful creature, shaking slightly before letting out a few sobs.

...
...
...

What would have happened if she had died? Would her mistress be alright? Lady Lightsword? Sol? Tazia? ... Gwynn? "I ... I don't want ... to die." The teenager admitted. "I've only got ... twenty years, max ... and I nearly got killed after one ..."

Why had she run into the ruins again? That had been awfully stupid. "... because I was jealous of ... of Sol ..." For a couple of seconds the cat sniffled against her mistress before backing her face away and looking at Lady Sorcha after trying to collect herself. Which was nearly impossible considering her breathing was forced into an awkward shallowness. "... I thought I was ... little one ..."

"Yes, Kath-" Her stomach began speaking, but her mind caught up quickly.

It was a trick! It was directly contradicting what she had said previously! Meowka stood up triumphantly, looking down at her owner. "I'm not falling for it that easily, Mistress Katherine!" The cat pointed out a finger accusingly at the older woman.

Maoin nodded against Lady Sorcha, until she was patted on the head and directed to go get some food. She wasn't hungry, but the dragon couldn't be wrong about this. By the time the dragon had finished her conversation with Lady Luna, the cat had only made it a few steps and allowed herself to be led the rest of the way to where the pair of them would be sitting barely managing to get herself a bowl of food on the way before staring at the soup before her.

She'd already cursed her owner out - this wasn't the time to be disobedient. The girl started to take a few unenthusiastic bites before speaking up. "If I ran from her I'd be dead." The venom would have likely begun to seize her heart and she would have died as a good monster snack. The servant forced herself to gradually take a few more bites while she looked towards her teacher for commentary.

Meowka's mouth dropped. Volunteered not to eat!? When did she do that? This woman wouldn't take her food away, would she? "Y-you're joking, right? N-not like I care." Meowka folded her arms defiantly and turned her cheek to her so called 'owner'. It didn't matter, she'd lasted longer than a day and this 'queen' wouldn't be able to-

-delicious fish?

Katherine would feel a wave of concern flood over her familiar as one of the few things she valued in life was in jeopardy as the poor, hungry kitten looked towards the food bowl out of the corner of her eye. "Of-of course I want some of that delicious fish, what are you talking about? And besides, I only nibble on your shoulder!" The cat's posture of defiance was already breaking as she sniffed the air slightly, but she was still trying to hold onto it a bit.

Also, she wasn't exactly sure what her 'mistress' wanted here.

... head pats? Maoin looked up towards her mistress, a wave of relief washing over her as she was steadied. She pouted a bit as her words were brought up again and her eyes widened she was told to run laps. Of course, that idea was quickly discarded which made the kitten let out a sigh of relief.

Ultimately she explained the circumstances surrounding the chimera - not why she left, but where she went, how she was attacked and her failed attempt to escape, what the chimera did and her description, the venom, the anti-venom, and the sudden tiredness she felt from the cure. Cats were fairly vulnerable to poison - even some flowers made her sick, so it didn't surprise the servant that she was having such a bad reaction to this. It took a couple of minutes to finish explaining as the kitten had to continuously stop to catch her breath. "... and Miss Katherine's dolls brought me out here ..."

Maoin let out a yawn before taking a couple of steps towards her owner and somewhat slumping against the powerful woman - this was a nice and safe spot. It was at this point the cat really noticed a new voice in the group - a simple glance revealing a snake-like creature. The kitten frowned, but based on how Lady Sorcha was reacting it couldn't be anything too bad.

"Y-you can go ahead ... and eat. I'm not feeling hungry ..." The cat at this point slumped harder against Lady Sorcha's warmth, closing her eyes as she latched her arms around the dragon's stomach so that she'd remain close. "If you need anything don't be afraid to wake ... wake me up ..." Oh, it was probably important to ask her if she needed anything now. Might have been why she approached in the first place. "Any orders, Mistress Dragon?"

Meowka frowned as everything went well with the littermate. Damn, she had been hoping for some entertainment there. Her attention quickly returned to the Puppeteer as she was patted on the head. "F-food? Sweet cheeks, why do you always threaten my stomach!? You were calling me a good kitten not too long ago, and now you are saying you won't feed me!" The cat let out a sigh. "Anyways, you wanna sit down here? I call your lap, by the way. Its my throne, the throne of the prowler of the night!"

The cat seemed to have an odd sort of excitement about lap time which was probably simultaneously strange and adorable.

Gah! She simply wanted to take a nap, and this finger was jabbing her. The cat took a couple swipes at the offending object before speaking slowly. "Fuck off ... goddamn uncivilized mongrel ..." The cat's exclamation was as powerful and excited as the typical teenager's who was woken up too early.

...

...

Little one?

The cat shot immediately up to attention and began to stammer out an apology. "Sorcha I'm so-" The servant immediately began to cough as her lungs pleaded for air, forcing her explosive plea to be silenced. Which having to do didn't exactly make her more calm, especially given the situation. A small stream of sweat began to pour from her eyebrow.

After a few moments of breathing she made an effort to stand, using a nearby tree to help herself up so she could stand at attention. Of course as soon as she rose to her feet she realized everything felt wobbly and that she had the coordination of a three year old amputee.

"D-didn't realize it was -" A couple breaths. "Y-you." The cat tried to offer an apologetic curtsy, but ended up nearly falling over and to catch herself. A bit of fear was in her eyes as she looked up to meet Lady Sorcha's gaze before she lowered it submissively.

From the corner of the camp, Maoin's ears picked up her sister snickering. The cat would have shot her a death glare if she probably wasn't already dead herself.

At least their conflict would be resolved, although by an angry dragon.

Meowka followed the puppeteer with a slight scowl on her face from the insult. As the woman set about ordering her drones, the cat continued to follow still thinking about what she had said.

"Fish. Just fish." The cat pointed her finger at the bunny. "Its my favorite and my mistress doesn't give me enough of it." It didn't really occur or matter to the kitten that the fish had belonged to the mongrel - they were far too tasty to question their origins.

Then the cat had a realization about what was bothering her. "So you wouldn't care if I call you sweet cheeks then? Or snores-too-loud? You aren't a King or Duke to my knowledge." The prowler of the night had given her that name, partially hoping it'd bother her just a bit. Until the food arrived, it seemed the cat was satisfied with conjecturing with herself about what she should call her master.

Or, snickering at her litter mate's predicament as a mischievous smile crossed her face.

Meowka eventually ended up giving up her lead and followed the older woman instead with a small smile written across her face. Had ... had she actually won that conversation? With Mistress Katherine having no real reply? The cat largely ignored the going ons of the others, something about a land lizard, a flying lizard, and the knightess talking along with their red haired pet.

What was a twelve year old doing here anyways?

The cat shrugged however as the Archwizard continued on down the hallway, preparing to leave the castle alongside her until the woman asked her a stupid question. They had talked about this before, the first day they met. "Yeah, you bathe in evil everyday. No wonder she has considers you dirty." Meowka rolled her eyes to the heavens as if it was a silly question. "But look, that doesn't give her a right to call you names." Meowka spoke seriously. Yeah, the cat thought it was a bit silly for the wizard to not only hop in the water herself but drag her pet in as well, but she was a tough kitten. And besides, she groomed herself and her mistress (as much as she'd allow) afterwards, so it wasn't like any lasting harm was done by it.

"Oh my, unhappy are you? You don't look as cute with an unhappy face. Anyhow, we're going on a little foray upstairs."

Didn't look as cute with an unhappy face? She never attempted to be cute, though based on how much her owner mentioned her 'cute butt' or 'cute look' she was obviously very good at it. She followed along absentmindedly as she was tugged along, simply happy that she wasn't being dragged by her collar this time and paying very little attention to her surroundings as they approached the top of the staircase.

"Why are you all unhappy? Just because I was flirting with that ball of muscle?"

By the time they reached it though, Meowka's face was flushed and a scowl was written across her eyebrows. The archwizard looked into her eyes inquisitively, but the cat turned her face away to allow herself to at least hide her emotions somewhat. 'Ball of Muscle' wasn't exactly a praiseworthy name, but it had been quite clear from the way the wizard prodded the creature's abs that the Puppeteer didn't mind that.

"Are you upset I was flirting? Or perhaps was it I was flirting in front of you? Or perhaps... It was because it wasn't at you?"

Meowka's face flushed as she looked away. She felt embarrassed, and if what other familiars were saying was true her 'owner' could tell she was as well, which only made her cheeks fill with more blood and frustration. One of the kitten's eyes took a quick glance back at Katherine - the strange and pretty blue hair, lithe body, pretty face, cute clothes - and then her eye returned to where it was as it stared in another direction. She began to formulate a response, then started to shake her head and thought about simply walking away and ignor-

-she found herself looking straight at the Mistress Katherine, Archwizard, Mind Reader, puppeteer as her face was grabbed possessively by the older woman. The mage would simply see the embarrassment become worse as the familiar's face reddened to its deepest possible stage and her body shake a bit due to the nervousness surrounding the entire situation. Katherine would feel the girl try to back away or turn her head to hide her face but the woman's grip was firm and the cat was unable to escape.

"Or am I wrong?"

For a couple of seconds, Meowka maintained her state of panic. The cat gulped. "N-no, your not." If her owner was surprised by her responding, she'd probably be more surprised as the girl seemed to calm down, her panic for those few seconds reducing itself to the embarrassment anyone would feel when they said something like that.

With a cool hand she pushed her owner's other one down, and grabbed that hand as well so that she held both. "I-I'm sorry, but this is new to me ... Ronat generally avoided this subject or didn't really care." The girl took a couple breaths as she looked away before staring right back at Katherine. "Yeah, I'm not the only cute one here. Someone up here has an adorable smile and a childlike sense of wonder when she stumbles into something new, and its not me."

How was she supposed to do this? Well ... "You are tall and powerful, have hair of a shade prettier than the ocean, but most importantly you take care of me Mistress Katherine. Yeah, I like your attention. I'd like more of it, and it annoys me you'd give it to someone who insulted you and seemed to think you were 'unclean' like that when you have me by your side. Even if you force me into evil sometimes." The cat let out a small grin at her own joke.

Meowka let go of the woman's hands and shrugged. "But you're a grown woman, and you're the one in charge between us. I can't stop you from playing with others, but you can stop me. I guess I could argue about it, but you'd probably just have your dolls tie me up again anyways."

The cat paused before her face flushed a bit as she placed a thoughtful finger against her chin.

"Although that wouldn't be bad in certain contexts ..." She shook her head. "But yeah. There's that. You'll probably want to make fun of me, and I guess I can't stop you sweet cheeks." Meowka licked the woman's neck as if to prove a point, face still reddened from embarrassment. Finally the cat backed away and turned down the hallway, tail standing proud and tall as it lifted the edge of her dress. "Anyways, ya coming?"

Meowka began to reply to the chimera's counter-challenge and began to step forward, "-afra-?" But her lips closed abruptly as her head was wrapped into a surprise hug and she was called cute. Cute of all things? Not tough, or terrifying, or sexy, but cute!? She wasn't sure how cute would keep her archwizard safe.

The cat was a little upset but as she brooded on those thoughts although her eyes widened as suddenly her mistress began to rub the chimera's abs. What? Of course, the words and reply only made things worse with the tail smack making Meowka want to fume. She hadn't been flirted with a lot in her time, but this was obvious. And it wasn't just coming from the dirty chimera either.

She was still holding hands with 'Miss' Katherine, but the bond would make it very apparent that she wasn't entirely happy about this at all - she wasn't exactly feeling adventurous in the moment and would have taken her hand away if it wouldn't be so obvious. She looked away from the older woman naturally as if ignoring her before finally saying something. A cold voice finally broke the silence.
"So ... where next, oh mistress Katherine?"

Maoin remained still, completely unaware of being moved as eventually she was ridden from her sleep by being prodded - again. The cat didn't even bother to open her eyes, simply tossing a nearby branch in Miren's general direction and cursing at her in Irish before closing her eyes once again.

Rude? Yes, but she was tired. She didn't have long to think though as she fell back asleep.
