You can go ahead and approach Sylar if you want(you can find him in Atom's Info Post on the first page). I'd come up to you, but Sylar isn't the kind of guy that... socializes willingly.

I let my character run into Sylar and I've been waiting almost a week for a reply. Did you notice I did so? I don't want to push you into posting or anything but I want to push you into posting. Shit.
@Totts: I'll give you two keywords for the beginning artist that are very important when drawing objects (even though they are not necessarily the first things you have to learn. I did 2 years of art at school, and the first few lessons we did was draw lines, straight curved, whatnot, but 'planned lines' that were nice, straight and regular.) Those keywords are ratios and perspective. Both of these form the basics of pretty much every drawing out there, and are two concepts you will never really 'master'. I won't either. It's very important when drawing objects that before or rather during the breakdown in simple shapes as Sherlock suggested, that you measure the ratios of said simple shaped compared to the object itself. (What is the lenght of this object compared to its width? Howmany times does the width fit inside the lenght?) Once you have these basic shapes right, your drawings will look a whole lot better.

A good technique is holding your arm out when your thumb up, pencil in hand, and use your pencil and thumb to measure and compare certain lenghts of an object. Make sure to always measure in the same way though (outstretched arm, straight back, w/e) and to take at least 2.5 times the object's size in distance to yourself if possible since otherwise you probably can't measure most of the object with your arm in front of you and you'll have to move your arm to measure it, making your measuring inaccurate.

I'm basically blurting out random tips and advices I remember from drawing courses. I hope it's worth anything to you!
Yay! A new guy that my character can run into! :D
There you go!
Alex Clark - The Outpost

Accepting a handshake from Phon as the scouting group dispersed Alex made his way towards his tent. There were larger andmore 'prestigeous' places to live inside the Outpost, but they'd be crazy to spend that on a new guy. The tent he had slept in for the past 3 weeks was far from comfortable, but at least it offered a bit of warmth and protection against the rain and the insects. Mostly. Putting the pitchfork in the ground next to the entrance, a gesture that served as a "I'm home" sign, he got on his knees and crawled inside, but heard a sound behind him. There she was, that little girl. Alice was one of the few children living in the Outpost, and one of the cherished hopes for the future. Sadly for him, she liked Alex.

"You sound funny. Say something."

Sadly for her, Alex liked kids.

"You sound funny."

The girl frowned at him and made a cocky twist with her head; it was clear Alex' answer did not please her. "Pff! Go dine with a biter!" She cursed him, which only made Alex smile more. "Well once that herd hits us, we'll invite them for a feast then? That way you won't miss out on the fun at least." He answered, upon which the roughly 10-year old girl rolled her eyes and walked away. He found it strange to see her like that, and on moments like that she had an uncanny resemblance to her niece back in the UK. She had been 12 years old, and had just discovered the magic of sarcasm and puberty, something that had shocked him beyond reasoning. Now... Well, he had not a single fucking clue about how the situation was across the Atlantic. The most he could do was hope, and ... What were their chances anyways? Was there any reason to harbour hope that his family'd have survived...? He'd have to hope that, but was it really a reasonable thing to believe in...? Dusting off his pants he tossed the backpack in the tent and made his way towards the cantina. At least he could finally eat now. Finally fill his stomach without having to fear that it'd come out any second.

The dining hall was crowded, as it was about the hour where everyone went to eat, and he had to hurry to capture a tincan of cooked pasta and a chair next to a guy who worked inside the walls. What was his name again...? Jill...Sullivan...Sylvan... Sylar! He was pretty good at names, and he was proud of that. He'd only had been introduced to the guy once, and indirectly at that, and that made him feel proud of himself. "Hello, Sylar was it? I don't think we've been properly introduced yet. The name's Alex." He started a conversation while poking at the pasta. He'd gotten the habit to socialize a lot in here, because anything that'd give him a reason to do something instead of give him the time to start thinking and sulking was good.
So if anyone in the outpost would be willing to begin an interaction with my character that'd be appreciated :D Otherwise I'll just keep myself busy talking to NPC's or sneaking up to PC's >:)
Alex Clark - The Outpost

Tightening the grip on his pitchfork, of which he had straightened the iron pins to make it easier to use, he followed Jerry towards the Outpost's safe boundaries. It was his thrid actual scouting mission, and after every single time he felt as if he'd never do it again. Arthur was walking closely behind himself, and chatting with phon, which, as usual, was a very one-sided conversation. Amanda was walking next to Alex, softly shaking her head as Arthur kept up the monologue. "So I stabbed that crawler in the eye-socket with my broken baseball bat, and it went all like 'Blueeergghhhh!' and dropped over me. Anyhow, I got up, when..." Alex shook his head and put his mind on the surroundings again. Even though it was 'mostly safe' walking out here at daytime, he had experienced enough to never dare let down his guard for a moment too long. As his mind trailed off he shook his head again, and let his fingers play over the shaft of the pitchfork. Looking at his own weapon and then at the handgun Amanda was holding he felt a spark of jealousy, which immediately subsided. He'd have more chance to break his nose firing that thing than to actually hit a crawler. Despite the tendency of the locals, he couldn't help thinking of all people here as locals, being British himself, to call the walking dead 'biters' he stuck to the name 'crawlers' he and his girlfriend had found for them.

Finally, the wooden walls of the camp were in sight, and despite all the pretenses of toughness amongst the group scouts, he could sense more than hear a collective sigh as the walls came into sight. It was at that point that disaster struck. Jerry tripped over what he had seen as a treebranch, but was actually the arm of a corpse, which immediately sprung to action, and grabbed Alex' feet, making him trip on top of the walker. His pitchfork impaled a newspaper rag as he fell, and have him a nast bruise on his forehead when his head slammed against the metal base. Dazed and surprised he found the walker bringing his foot to its mouth, but a timely reaction of Lucas, who put his foot down on the crawler, saved his shoe.

Breathing heavily he backed away from the corpse against a tree as the situation subsided. A moment of shocked silence later Phon offered him a silent hand while Arthur inspected the dead crawler. "Sneaky sonovabitches." He muttered as he gave the head a kick as Jerry gave Alex his pitchfork back, and pointed at the wound on Alex' forehead. "Luckily we're almost home, get that thing cleaned up. Can't be healty to stick that thing into dead people and then stab yourself with it." Alex silently nodded as he accepted the tool and felt his forehead, gritting his teeth as he felt the minor injury sting like hell.

As they approached the gates in silence, Alex felt the usual shaking coming up in his hands, so he made sure to wrap them thightly around the heavy pitchfork to conceal that. How had he even ended up with the scouts anyways? Perhaps he should try getting a change of jobs, this clearly wasn't his cup of tea.
Another question; The people listed in the 'Outpost' info slider, are those all NPC's? What might do I have over them as in, killing them, letting them suffer injuries, ...? I'm just going to take it easy with my first post since I don't want to blow it, but this might be handy for later. (much later actually)

I'll just have my character return from a scouting mission with some NPC scouts listed. Just spam me if I did anything wrong. Also spam me if it's not normal for my character to be a scout.

I'm gonna give the go-ahead to join Outpost, if you want. It's one of the survivor camps we have and your character would have to have been there for at least a few weeks.

Allright. I'd rather start out as a new arrival though, but this'll do just fine. I just want to add here that I don't want to have my character stay with a large group of people for too long, since that'd be a bit obstructive for what I'm planning for him. But that could also be achieved with a group of people inside the community, so I can adapt either way. I assume that Alex will be just off of probation in the Outpost then? Is there anything else I should know or can I decide what he's doing there as a job etc myself?

Can someone also give a real quick summary of past events my character should've heard about or currently going on? I've read the event log thing you made, which is moghty handy, but it's hard to keep track of the different characters and what's going on where. I simply do not have the time to read the entire IC either.
Konoha Team 7
Kensuke Nimatsu

Dropping from the treetops next to the group of genin without a sound he nodded. "Got it. Come on guys, let's get this over with. Remember your training and work together." He said on a harsh tone. He caught Kiyomi's eyes for one second and sent her a doubtful look. It was a bad idea going in with the genin, who knew what they'd find inside. Soon she was out of sight, and Kensuke decided to give his team a last set of orders untill Kiyomi's give to go signal. "Allright. Set your earphones on channel A. Now listen up grunts. Last mission might've looked tough, but compared to this... Well, let's say that you'll have to do exactly as I say to stay alive. Everyone in the village's got to do his part, and you're shinobi too. Stick together, and combine your strenght, ... and brains. That's my advice." He said, before turning around and inspecting the entrance.

"I'll be the point man, so I'll try to clear most of the dangers, but I'll need your help. Besides, we're doing this together. Ezuri, I need you you to scan every room with your Byakugan. Don't run off on your own like last time, you know what happened. Shisen, I need your nose, and Arashi's too. I suspect the walls are sealed with jutsu to prevent Ezuri from seeing through, so we'll need all the help we can get. And make sure Arashi stays under control. I don't care that you two mightn't like the others, but it's life and death here." He told team 7 as he inspected the door. Sealed off thight, but nothing that he couldn't get through with some persuasion.

Setting his communicator on channel C, the one which allowed squad leaders to talk without the others hearing it, he spoke to Kiyomi. "Allright we're set up. Ready when you are."
