I just love kitsune lore, so I'm interested in playing a fox youkai. Since you said that the Mitsumine clan has a lot of undeveloped land, my fox, Junkojuro, could be an old spirit that has coexisted peacefully on this land with the clan. Whereas priests/priestesses are mediators with the spirits on the side of humans, Junkojuro, being old and experienced, communicates with the humans to keep the many spirits appeased. His history of service has been sporadic with various levels of involvement with the family depending on the head, but most leaders have treated him as an ally. Junkojuro does his best to keep peace between the spirits and humans, and he informs the Mitsumine clan of ways that they could quell spiritual unrest without violence and before it escalates. He deplores the concept of Youkai hunting with only a few exceptions given to the truly malign spirits, but would rather deal with such problems himself than have the humans interfere. In exchange for cooperation, he has been known to grant the family favors. As a fox, he can often see where good fortune is, and use his supernatural families to solve any problems that the family may be having.

Junkojuro's existence would be known only to the highest echelons of the family, essentially the family head and whomever he decides to tell. Currently, Takeshi is the only one likely to know of his existence, and it is up to you whether or not he has been introduced to the heir yet. When he is on the grounds, those with heightened spiritual awareness would be able to see his true form, but to everyone else he can appear however he likes. The potential for escalating conflict between the clans has become a concern to him, and so he involvement with the Mitsumine's affairs has been increasing over the past five years, and especially now that there is a new heir. He wants to get to know the heir and see what his dispositions are. Will Junkojuro ultimately end up being a powerful ally or a deadly enemy?
Breaking the Curse sounds like fun, and sarcastic mage is right up my alley. Also, I'm busy with school work too, so we'll be at the same pace with posting. PM me if you're interested in starting.
The six-tailed fox stood before the temple of Thea with a tranquil look on his face, his long white hair and tails swaying gently in the breeze. He was not surprised to find himself in this strange new land; certainly he hadn't been expecting it, but surprise was reserved for things conceived as outside of the realm of possibility. Nor did his stoic expression falter as he read the short letter that had been handed to him. Curious words, but perhaps not so strange; was not the ultimate goal of knowledge and wisdom to obtain omniscience, and was not omniscience reserved for the domain of gods? No, "surprised" definitely wasn't the right word for what he felt... A small serene smile crept across his face as he took in his surroundings.

It immediately became apparent that he was not alone here. Several other strangers stood near him in various levels of disbelief. He had never seen their attire before. He took in a deep breath of air through his nose; their scents were foreign. Were they even from they same world? Well, it seemed that where they were from mattered little, and he soon stopped pondering too deeply about what was happening. After all, the letter assured him that he would understand everything in time.

Name: Ayako
Nickname: none
Age: 346
Birthday: March 20
Origin: Legend says that foxes who live to a ripe old age attain sentience, wisdom, and power. The longer a fox lives, the more wisdom and power he obtains. Ayako was one such fox, a brilliant student among the wise old kitsune who taught him, and a leader among his peers. Having obtained his sixth tail, Ayako was whisked away to Desnia, where he will continue to walk along the path towards omniscience...

Deity: Deity of compassion.

Hair Color: White
Hair Style: Long, straight, flowing hair, down past his shoulders (different than the pick, but that was the closest I could find).
Eye Color: Bright blue (again, different than pic).
Skin Color: Mildly fair.
Height: 5'10''
Body Build: Lean, but strong
Markings: A crimson circular symbol on his forehead with lines that streak back behind his ears. Each of his six white tails has a crimson tip.

Demi-description: He is a deity of compassion, which is not to be confused with meekness or gullibility. He actively seeks to help others, resolve conflicts, and build friendships, and he has a calm and tranquil voice that is quite good at achieving this end. On principle, he will never deny someone who asks him for help, so long as the request is within his power and is not laced with ill-will or laziness. Likewise, on principle, he will never force his help on someone who outright refuses to accept his aid. With compassion, comes an undying loyalty to his friends and those cruel enough to make an enemy of him will find that this fox has quite a ferocious bite.

Background: Upon acquiring sentience, Ayako was quick to walk down the path of wisdom. Unlike many of his brethren, Ayako actively sought out wise masters to teach him the ways of the universe, and impressed them not just with his talent, but with his humility. He gained a reputation as an altruist, helping man and spirit alike. Some became jealous of his reputation and whereas Ayako acquired power through wisdom, there were those who sought to steal it through force. Ayako found a way to protect himself, though, and performed the unprecedented, absorbing the essence of his Hoshi no Tama, the orb that is the source of a kitsune's power. Upon doing so he acquired his sixth tail and vanished from the world, arriving in Desnia.

Personality: Ayako has a very agreeable personality, and sees the best side of people. He is always eager to share his wisdom and enjoys talking on virtually any subject. He is an inquisitive individual, particularly regarding people's personal beliefs, but he is not judgmental, even when he disagrees with people. He will often brush off personal insults, but will not stand for acts of cruelty or deception.

Powers: Through his acquisition of wisdom, Ayako has obtained an innate understanding of martial arts far beyond the physical capabilities of any mortal. He can alter his appearance and take the form of a massive white fox, though he primarily uses this form to intimidate enemies and avoid bloodshed. Finally, Ayako has mastery over foxfire, a wisp-like flame that can take a cool blue color and form any number of illusions, or a bright orange that can create a flame as hot as any forest fire.

Weapons: Ayako has a katana named Junkojuro that has been blessed by the ancient masters. Those who fall to this blade shall never go to hell so long as there is goodness in their hearts.
Definitely interested. I have just the character for this one too.
I'll keep an eye out in the future if my schedule calms down a bit. It was fun while I could participate.
Unfortunately, I'm going to have to withdraw. I just had a lot of work dumped on me recently and I won't be able to keep up with the posting here. I'd rather forfeit than give you guys half-assed rushed posts.

I am nothing to be envious of, really. ^^;For example, . I've still got a loooong way to go. XD...Although Fabri at least should know that one.

My art skills never advanced beyond stick figures. I cannot even make the vaguest doodles of my characters. So, I envy your artistic ability immensely.
I'm interested...
Tomaru's ears twitched as his opponent called out to him. It seemed as though his opponent was as different from the last as the arena was. Andrew Jackson's harsh words betrayed a deep-rooted sense of honor; whereas the demon would have done everything in its power to find an advantage, Mr. Jackson issued a direct challenge that called for even terms. Perhaps more impressive, though, was the aura of righteousness that this man emitted. He was a man distinguished from a common hired sword, a man both beloved and feared, a natural born leader. All of this Tomaru could discern simply from hearing his voice; what would happen when they crossed blades?

With a smile, Tomaru faced the president and entered his Hebi stance, his right hand grasping the hilt of his katana as the pressure built up within the sheath. He slowly walked forward, considering the angle of the sun, the man's height, and several other minute variables, and adjusted the position of the sheathed sword with expert precision. The attack he had planned was highly effective when executed properly, but it required complete concentration... and it generally only worked once. He advanced with slow, even steps as he closed the distance between him and Andrew Jackson, and when he was finally within striking range he halted. There was a look of burning intensity on Tomaru's face, as if he was ready to strike if a single grain of sand shifted in the wrong direction.
