I'm definitely one of those people who never changes their avatar or signature and I'm 100% ok with that.

Bio

I'm not sure what I did to lure you here but I do apologize and I also would like to welcome you to my page. Now with the pleasantries aside, a bit about me.

I have been role playing for about 3 maybe 4 years now, I love writing and I spend a lot of free time doing just that. I also spend a lot of time that is meant to be for work writing but that's another story. I live in the American midwest (think great lakes region) so that should give you an idea of my timezone. That being said I am often up at many hours of the night, or morning depending on your point of view.

I am indeed a girl and she/her whatever works.

The Book of Peace seems to only be her 'weakness' because she wills it. She isn't particularly impeded when it's opened, and only uses it as some kind of mcguffin. Something to give the mortals a chance, and for her to take away. I believe it's quite likely that the mark on her chest might be another one of those self-imposed limitations. Also, she's a Goddess. Literally. She might not be omnipotent, but she isn't going to have one definite weakness per se.

The Book is a tricky topic, while she does will it to be her weakness it also gives Syracuse and the other cities a sort of magical energy. It's difficult to explain but after the Book is shut the city begins to crumble, which is exactly what Eris wanted. I've believe that the Book could like a good luck charm, it's enchantments kept peace in whatever city housed it, I also thought that it might be more like a security blanket. The 'cross my heart' mark while it might be a self-imposed limit it also would make sense that if you look at it from the eyes of a child. In kid's movies the villain usually has a crucial weakness, as a kid it made sense to me that the promise of a deity is absolute. If you want to look at it from a mythological point, Eris could have sworn on the River Styx. Meaning she had to keep those particular promises, however explaining that to children is a lot harder than using a familiar mark of a promise and saying she has to do it. We must also take into account that while all of what you said could be true neither of us has much proof either way. All we have are the events of the movie, it's hard to say whether Eris set up the whole thing for fun because we just don't know. It adds layers of complexity that the common 7-11 year old can't fully understand.

I can't help it either, sorry.

True, that did happen. However, I honestly don't think it's a flaw. If she just went around and killed everyone, what would she have to do? She seems to enjoy tempting people, creating chaos and confusion, but doesn't seem to be the type to kill or torture.I'm not really sure there ARE any universal rules. I think Eris just cast that spell on herself, and bound herself on purpose, perhaps to make the game more interesting.

Yeah, she has pets/minions to do that for her. Getting involved with mortal lives is not a flaw, becoming obsessed with certain ones is a flaw. As much as I want to believe Eris could have done whatever she wanted, I can't because I believe that Eris must have weaknesses, if it isn't the book of peace then perhaps it is that the goddess of lies and deceit (amongst other things) has to keep her promises.
Assuming Bob and Eris become enemies.
True but one of her fatal flaws is probably her obsession with humans/mortals. At one point she probably did like Sinbad but Maria changed him for, in Eris's mind, the worst. Your right about playing games, I don't think she gets any satisfaction from crushing others. You also have to remember she gave her word 'as a goddess' to Sinbad. While they don't go into detail about it, she isn't aloud to break that promise. Implying that there could be a number of rules deities from that universe have to follow.
Eris is very showy, plus she wanted 'Less talking. More screaming.' not insta-death. I also think Eris began to become jealous of Maria and hoped to kidnap/kill her.

I see, thanks for correction. Why about Lil Dipper?

Well I suppose she has a giant spoon then, if she can summon all the constellations in a physical form.
Those are the Zodiac. I believe her pets came from constellations rather than the Zodiac, although that was probably the inspiration for them.
Bingo! You've seen the movie so you get what I mean.
Speaking of minions Eris has several pets she loves/uses and I finished the list;
◾Scorpion
◾Cetus (Probs her favorite)
◾Dragon
◾Roc (dead, I have no evidence it came back like Cetus)
◾Lion
◾Fly
◾Ram
◾Bull
◾Crab
◾Unicorn
◾Phoenix
Taking one for the team.....right?
