Looks interesting... Though with the number of other RP's I'm invested in at the moment I don't think I have the time to learn a new tournement ruleset and posting style. lol.
Close enough.

Bloodshot flopped back on the dusty road, not bothering to use another bullet on the clearly dead Mordem. It was several minutes before he finally rolled over and pushed himself to a kneeling position, wincing as he did so, then noticed the sword lying just in front of him. Could come in handy. Or just make a nice trophy. He reached out and grabbed it with his right hand, then stood, sheathed his staff, and retrieved his pistol.

"Now why the frak did I have to park all the way on the other side of town?" The walk back sure was gonna suck.
A tournament, eh? Whereabouts is this thing located?
Kaboom.

The explosion caught Bloodshot full in the chest and threw him off his feet in spite of the bracing he'd done, and apparently grenades from the past are a lot less clean than those from the future, as this one also contained small bits of shrapnel in addition to the explosive itself. Most of the fragments bounced harmlessly off his armor, and while his body glove did a fine job countering the explosive force of the blast, he winced as he threw an arm up to protect his neck while his other exposed joints were assaulted by the small metal projectiles. The shrapnel cut through the body glove with relative ease, given the velocity it was moving, and once Bloodshot hit the ground, a good five meters from where he'd started, he gritted his teeth against the pain and forced himself to sit up. He had to make sure the other man was down. If not, well, he still had his gu... Frak. His eyes found the gun lying three meters to his right. Good thing he had a spare.
Thanks. As did I. :) Let me know if you want a rematch or another fight with different characters.
A good swift kick sent the grenade back toward its source as Bloodshot's gauntlet blade retracted and he flung the sword out behind himself, well away from where Mordem now stood. His right hand came back to his hip as the grenade reached its destination and he pulled his own pistol free, though he didn't raise it as yet. He didn't know what the blast radius for this particular brand of grenade was, but judging from that look on Mordem's face it was at least two meters. Here's hoping the armor can take the brunt of the damage. There was no time to turn and run, so Bloodshot just took a step back with his left foot to try and brace himself for the impending explosion.
You suggested he be long lived before I mentioned anything about being long-lived or even what powers he'd have when all along he was going to be long-lived. So I guess both prescient and psychic work. That or it was just a bad joke...
Long life is actually one of the side effects of his mutation. Are you sure yours isn't prescience? Lol. I'll PM Hillan and await his word on the matter.
I can certainly keep the character raw and rustic even without being a teen. He won't be perfect by any stretch of the imagination. My idea for why he's around is that the institute needs a medic, and Logan remembers him from the war and has Charles find him so he can go recruit him. While he may be an adult, he is by no means completely refined or pristine personality wise. He's a lot like Logan in that respect.

But if that still doesn't work for you then I understand and will simply back out.
Are all characters required to be young students or can they be older adults who can serve as supplementary teachers and in support roles? I just don't think I could manage a teenager all that well and still be able to maintain my interest in writing the character.
