100 tons max for a high-tier? Magneto would curbstomp any 100 tonner that tried to take him down mano y mano, and he's supposed to be an example of what high-tiers are like.

I'm all for un-nerfing high tier characters who focus on physical abilities. I mean, look at the non-physical abilities that the high-tier characters have. It's like Green said, any high-tier should be able to demolish a city, and if not that, then go toe-to-toe with someone who can. With that in mind, even 500 tons seems pretty low.
And I do remember a 15,000 (and change) tons number being in the old ratings somewhere, but I can't remember which tier that was. I'm pretty sure there was also a 150,000 ton number...

No, with a nuke it would be a perfect defense charm. You were close though. ;)
You should probably hold onto that, Boerd.
Wait a second... What was the strength limit stated in the tiers of the old multiverse? Does anyone remember?
It would be nice if there was an example of really strong high tier characters in the description, like the magneto and doctor strange ones.
I know silver age Supes can do that, but I was giving a conservative estimate in case the superman being referred to was either New 52 or Man of Steel Supes, who haven't demonstrated that same level of strength.
So... I'm thinking of making a character for the multiverse here who would essentially be a lightning bruiser, but with very heavy emphasis on the bruiser and not so much on the lightning. How strong would be too strong for a high tier character? 10,000 tonnes? 100,000 tonnes? 1,000,000 tonnes? It was mentioned before that superman would likely be high-tier, and his strength alone would likely be well over 1,000,000 tonnes, plus all his other powers.

Thoughts?
"Uh, me and him. Thought that was kind of obvious..." Arty pointed a finger first at himself, then at robocop as each was mentioned. He'd stepped into the room behind the Clockwork Man to find three warrior looking types reacting to the sudden intrusion and drawing weapons. Two ranged ones that looked a bit like ancient crossbows (though given the ray guns being sported by the ground troops and the swords that could block his own energized blade he seriously doubted they were actually just crossbows), and two swords that were more than likely very similar in capability to those the guards they'd just killed had held (though these two were held by one man). "You must be the local badasses."

It was then that his gaze fell upon the elder-y looking fellow standing near the glowing console. His sword came up in a casual pointing gesture aimed at the old man. "One of these things is not like the others." He took a couple steps forward until he was in front of the Clockwork Man (who would probably want to shoot him for this, but hey... YOLO, right?) "If you wouldn't mind handing him over now, we'll leave you to your doomsday bomb and be on our way in peace." He held his arms out in a gesture of openness, inviting them to accept the offer. They didn't, so he dropped his arms and tightened his grip on the sword. "Or... We could leave you in pieces. Personally, I'm hoping you pick the second option."
So I guess that means that technically, Arty is a technomage... Since he mentally controls and powers his armor with his own body's super-generation of bio-electricity. Huh. That gives me ideas for an entirely new route to take toward tier high-dom.
