As Carlee walked through what used to be the West Loop of Chicago, she couldn't help but imagine what it used to look like. Thousands of people walking thorugh here every hour, the same amount of cars each minute. Now it was all reduced to waste, and it reeked of chemicals, blood, and corpses. Every sound she heard made her jump with fright. Every gust of wind brought another onslaught of stench that she wanted to forget. The dead lay on the ground, inside windows, on doorsteps, everywhere except where they were meant to be...in the ground.

She was alone in this city and it was only a matter of time before she died. Before she was found and attacked or worse...starved to death by a lack of resources. Carlee gripped her machete tightly in her left hand as she heard a thump from behind her. She spun around and waited, silently, all she heard was the wind and papers being blown across the city streets. Relaxing only a bit, Carlee thought survival. She needed to find people. Preferably a group of uninfected people. She needed food, and if they didn't give her any, she would steal it and leave. She had to find high ground, a better means of defending herself, and a place to sleep. She was exausted and it was growing more unignorable with every step she took.

Hours passed and she hadent run into any living thing...healthy or infected for that matter, She was begenning to think she was the only one out here and it was a thought that depressed her even more. She stopped for a moment to look around and noticed her hands were starting to shake a bit. She was soon going to get to a point where the roaring of her stomach was going to alert the attention of those monsters she was trying so hard to stay away from. Carlee looked at the sky, it was light but the sky was darkening and she knew she had to find a place to stay really quick, but there was no one here to help her.

I cant do this on my own... she thought to herself before she sat down against a tree and sighed. She felt tears sting her eyes and she dropped her machete onto the grass next to her. She had not given up just yet, but she was damn close to calling it quits. She didn't know what to do anymore....

She was lost.
"Hogwarts is a great school, and yes it is very big! My mom is a teacher there and was close friends with our previous Headmistress. Her name was Miss Minerva McGonagall, but she is very old now and a few years ago Mister Harry Potter became our Headmaster. I'm sure you've heard about him before. He saved Hogwarts from a really really evil guy. We learned it in History but i dont really pay attention in that class." Juneberry smiled and reached into her bag to pull out her wand. "Can i see your wand, and where did you get it? There is a place called Diagon Alley where there is a shop most Hogwarts students get their wands. Its called Olivanders Wand Shop. Mr. Ollivander is a very nice man but he is old too. Really old...i like to try and guess his age. And anyway, it took him a bit of searching to find the right wand for me."
Juneberry thought about her question, going into a more comfortable position of crossing her legs under her. Considering she didn't mess with boys alot she didnt have much to say about it. "Well, i suppose its alright. Sometimes they can get cocky and try to make you feel weak cuz your a girl, but other than that its nothing too special." She looked at her lap. "I like someone...a boy... but he dosen't really notice. Its hard because guys dont think about anything but sports and food so if you have a crush, it might be kinda hard to tell that person." she paused and thought of what else she could say. "Well, i suppose not all boys are like that. Sometimes i see them sticking up for their friends who are girls and get into fights because they are loyal. I guess it just depends. You are likely to meet both kinds."

June looked out the window then and wondered about the boy she liked. He was in a different house than her, but she often saw him....she just hoped this year would not be different. Then she thought about her question. "Where is your school at, and is it as big as Hogwarts? I can tell your not from around here because you speak a bit differently than most foreigners i've met." she had to stop herself before she asked all of her question at once.
great i live in chicago now anyway. that makes things easier. i guess ill just have Carlee roaming about..
@Gamer

Juneberry smiled at the idea. "Sure, i suppose i could be up for that. I'm not very familiar with that school anyway, and it is a fairly long ride to Hogwarts." she watched as Sebastian hopped across the seats and went to stand on the back of her new found friend, if thats what she could call it yet. He made a small, playful mew as he pawed at the face of the other feline. Juneberry giggled and looked at Kitten. "I think those two are going to be inseperable sooner than later." she paused. "And you ask the frst qestion. I still have to think about mine."
sweet ill do a post soon then.

where do you guys think is a good place for me to jump in? i see some people are in different cities, right?
Name: Carlee

Age: 17

Gender: Female

Appearance:
Clothes

Personality: Carlee is very quiet , kind, and conscientious. She can be depended on to follow through with tasks or promises. She usually puts the needs of others above her own needs. Stable and practical, Carlee values security and traditions. She has a rich inner world of observations about people, but she often gets lost in her thoughts rather than focusing on the present situation. Extremely perceptive of other's feelings, interested in serving others and making them happy. Although she is adequately skilled in fighting, she does not like conflict, and is not likely to do things which may generate conflict. Loyal and faithful. Extremely well-developed senses, not interested in leading or controlling others. she is flexible and open-minded about other people lives, traditions, stories, etc...

Current Status/Background: Carlee's always been a fighter. Her mother died giving birth to her and as a result has been living with her father all her life. Since she was little and got beat up in a fight with bullies, her dad has been training her in martial arts and kickboxing so she can hold her ground against an enemy. As a member of the US Air Force, her Father taught her how to repair all types of planes and other vehicles while they were at an airport with about a hundred other people. She is adequately skilled in repairing those kind of vehicles, but is still not a pro. There was some kind of unknown breech and somehow, the infected got in and killed everyone, including her father. She barely managed to escape with her life and is now on the run, looking out for refuge where there are people. She was not able to gather much during the invasion, just a machete, a pocketknife, rope, mase, and about a few days worth of food and water for herself. Her situation is looking grim as she is growing tierd and weak, and though she has told no one yet, she is losing vision in her right eye though she does not know why.
