Ah, she was glad she made the right choice! It was so...nice to see someone enjoying her company! Her hands clapped together once he swallowed down the hot food and motioned for them to take a seat at one of the tables laid out in order to eat properly. Hopefully after they were settled in, she'd happily take the dumpling he offered out to her and lap her tongue at the ends of the chopsticks in order to suck off any trace of juices remaining on each stick to ensure a minimum mess. Her taste buds exploded in a sensation of addictive flavors as she took hold of his hand to give it a gentle squeeze while her eyes closed, obviously content wih the flavor. When she finally let go, she just gave the smallest of shrugs and an even cuter giggle than before.
"Ah, it tastes delicious! And- Oh? Hobbies?..."
A scratch of the cheek sent her off in a bit of curiousness as she stopped to contemplate what could have been a hobby in real life for her. Not...much could constitute as a hobby if she wasn't doing them willingly, correct? Her hand came to the back of her head, eyes averting for a moment...ah, before sighing and turning her gaze back up to him with a bit of a pout.
"...I don't have many hobbies because I don't have a lot of friends. I suppose things like...writing, making my own clothes, and dorky singing in the shower could count?...D-Don't get me wrong, there are a bunch of things I've wanted to do. Like contests, group outings, putt-putt, games that...require other people, usually."
...So yes, she was alone. And being alone meant nobody else to spend time with her. So this had become the closest she had to friendship or contact of any variety.
"...I ah...I don't have family to spend time with either, if you'll be asking that next. They died when I was little. I don't remember their faces. Only child means I'm something of an orphan, ya know? But ah...I get by."
There it was. That smile trying hard to stay committed to the conversation as she eventually let go of his hand to go back to scooping up some food from her plate.
"Mm...I'd...like to enter the pageant coming up, if you'd cheer me on. I've never been in one before but...I've always wanted to try it. ...I-Is that alright?...I don't want to do it if it means it'd leave you alone and bored..."
Yes. She wanted to enter in, but..he was her date. First one at that. ...Leaving him wasn't an option -- besides that...She only wanted to enter it to see how it felt to be in an actual contest for once. To be a part of something grand...That's what it was all about. A one-time experience...!
