As the person who Haruka assumed to be lord Chris spoke at her, she simply stared back at him with wide, earnest eyes. Eyes impermeable to any gaze, no matter how piercing, in their sheer honesty. She did not seem to comprehend the full situation, be intimidated in any way, or even have the slightest idea about what was going on beyond the surface appearance. She simply set the sack in which she kept her supplies down, along with the Naginata that was a bit taller than she was and the meteor hammer whose weight was easily apparent by the sound and the small tremor it made as it reached the floor.

"Free supplies, foods, and informations? This sounds fair! Many thanks to you, lord Chris," she chirped as she sat down at the table and began piling anything that looked good onto her plate.

"May I take some of these foods if we do not finish eating them? I have not had good meal in many time, and will probably still be much hunger later."

She then looked at Al, who smartly carried many weapons. Not many people realized that more was better, and so Haruka marked this one as a smart man, although mistaken about she and Jack.

"It is not my grandpa, but Jack. He is much nice man I have met on the way in! He will tell us stories, I hope."
Haruka's eyes widened and her tail began wagging back and forth furiously. This old man reminded her much of master. He seemed kind and brave and adventurous! She began reminiscing about all of the stories master told her, and wondered if this old man had similar stories. Perhaps she would ask him later, since they were both heading to the same place. For now, it seemed like it would not be long until they reached their destination.

"That is a good way to think, old man! I mean, Jack! I am Haruka," the girl replied, with a wide smile on her face.

She listened to the guard talk for a while until they reached their destination. He seemed to know an awful lot, so Haruka still had to ponder why the lord had to meet with them face to face. He must be a busy man to meet with all the adventurers going to the temple. Well, that he met with each one face to face was respectable in its own way. Haruka could understand that a little.

As Jack struggled to open the heavy door up for her, Haruka reached out a hand as if to stop him, but retracted it as he finished. It would have been much easier and less stressful for her to do that. She was very strong, and the old man was getting on in years. She decided to let it go this time, however, seeing the smile on Jack's face.

"Ah, yes, I thank you," said Haruka, as she hurried inside. What a nice man. She had heard many bad stories about westerners, but that was not her experience with them so far. In fact, most of them were very nice like Jack and the guard.
Haruka stared patiently up at the confused guard as he explained the situation. She didn't really understand why the lord needed to see a commoner such as herself just because she was heading north, but it would be incredibly rude of her to decline such an invitation. She supposed she could at the very least pay her respect to the man, considering it was his land in which she trudged.

"Yes, I under-"

Then, an older gentleman called out. He seemed to want inside as well, and ended up linking arms with Haruka. Of course, many of the monks were older men who had trouble getting around, and so the girl had some practice with this. Oddly enough, however, the old man really didn't seem to need help at all. In fact, it was almost as if he was the one leading her around!

Or, Haruka was such a good helper that it felt that way. Probably the latter. Anyways, the man struck up a conversation and the friendly Haruka was ready to oblige.

"I do not know the Hades, but it is normal here. It is not too much cold! I am here for Tikka's temple. I will gain many informations, and trade for other informations! I am more worried about you, old man. Even master's joints ached on colder days! Are you well?"
The unforgiving cold and crunch of the snow under Haruka's feet brought fond memories of her mountaintop temple home. She had heard further south about how horrible Gris was, but honestly, it was much like the mountain except the air was almost stifling in its generous thickness. Her lungs were full with air, and her face was full with smiles. She would find the temple spoken of by Professor Tick... Teeks... Tikka... something like that. Anyways, she'd find the temple with her strong body and fists the way other adventurers could not.

Once she'd had that locked down, she could trade information for information. The best brokers in the business would kneel in front of her and ask her to please tell them about the amazing northern temple and she would tell them that she needed to know about the swordsman. He was a westerner, he was skilled, and he had disemboweled her master with a western blade of blackest obsidian. That last one, she had assumed, was most likely to get her guy.

But first, she needed to stock up on supplies. Learning the secrets of an ancient temple would do her no good if she starved to death or something. Finally having come to a settlement, the place closest to her destination she had heard, she called out to the guards manning the gates.

"Hello! I am of need to have supplies for travel! May I please come in?"

She still wasn't excellent at the language they used in the west, but for the most part, westerners seemed to understand her just fine.
Oh, fantastic! Yes, that sounds just fine to me.

EDIT: It's late where I am, so I'll make a post tomorrow after I've read everything up until now. 'Night.

I hope that this is alright. I do understand if she just doesn't fit well enough to play, though. In which case, I could make adjustments or scrap her for something more in line with everyone else.
Hey, I was considering joining this if possible. I had a couple of questions first, though.

Since there's no section for race in the character sheet and you haven't mentioned anything like it in the introduction, I assume it's just Humans? I want to be certain before I do anything, but that's the idea I'm operating on right now.

In addition, I was wondering what sort of wildlife to expect within the parameters of this world. Just normal stuff, or are there monstrous beings like trolls and dragons and whatnot?

I'd also like to know about religions. Any prominent ones? Could I make up my own to be incorporated into the world if I was so inclined?

Thank you for your time.
Mimi backed away from the three smaller rat golems that rushed out the door and cut off their escape. She had thought that, when the time had come to fight and defend herself, it would be easy and natural. Unlike other Mimics, however, she had no need to learn how to fight and had been raised in a comfortable Human household devoid of conflict. She found herself pinned to the wall across from the monsters and relying on her team mates for help, completely paralyzed and left cursing her own uselessness.

She knew that she was strong. If she were to fight, she was fairly sure that she could win. So why was she so frightened?

"I'm sorry," she whimpered, "I've never really... I don't know how to..."
As the area was cleared in front of her, Mimi moved forward. She eyed the small treasure chests suspiciously, wondering what sort of rats kept coffers. Perhaps there were more intelligent beings further in. Behind that door, perhaps.

As Mimi and the others drew close to the door, Alice appeared to spot something within and sicced a lone Human femur on the occupants. Mimi wondered where such a young girl would get a Human femur, but those thoughts were cut short by a spray of tiny rats smacking the door wide open. Mimi was able to spot a magnificent treasure chest inside, but even more impressive was a fearsome amalgamation of rats before her. Mimi staggered backward, her knees weak and her eyes wide with fear. She had never seen a monster before, though certainly she had read about them. Books and pictures did not do the terrible things justice.

Mimi tried to regurgitate a cry of fear, but it stuck thick in her throat. She could only be thankful that she was outside the door, and that the giant monster was inside it.

All she managed to get across in this moment was a timid "Eep."
