Lisa bit her lower lip as she regarded the undead horseman behind her. If she had needed more proof that there was devilry going on at the inn of which the Ent spoke, it had just arrived on a rotting, skeletal mount. Her mace arm twitched as the Ent spoke once more, apparently too preoccupied with the evil ahead to regard the wickedness that had just invaded their presence.

But she was given no time to react as a gigantic 40-foot dragon appeared a ways away from her. There was something rotten in this forest to attract such fiends, and Lisa would dally no longer.

"Damnable stealth dragons," Lisa cursed, running towards the awful sight, "rather sneaky for a gigantic black serpent in the verdant woods, aren't you? Well you won't escape me much longer!"

There was much for the good paladin to do, but once she was done, the wise, peaceful Ent could live without worry.
Lisa's hopeful smile fell, and was replaced with a look of sheer horror and disgust as the wise Ent described a damned den of occult means and evil nature. Where she had searched for a tool of justice, she had found a fetid hole of inequity. Ironically, however, both of these things called out for the touch of a good paladin.

"Blackguards," Lisa cursed, throwing an intense glare in the direction of the evil inn. Obviously no good could come from such a place in the middle of the woods, far from holy ground. She could only imagine the sin in which ignorant folk partook, far from they eyes of the good gods. Evil rites, rituals, and black magics in addition to the fornication and murder of which the Ent spoke.

"Worry not, good forest folk," Lisa announced, grabbing at her mace, "I am a paladin of Lilith, warded against such evil glamours. I will smite the evil before it blights these woods further. If you are worried about corruption, I can give you a douse of my holy water before I go to confront the heathens."
Lisa wandered about in the woods, looking a very poorly-drawn map up and down. The seller had promised her that, if followed correctly, the map would lead her to a most magnificent mace. One that had been wielded by paladins of Lilith before her, and increased their abilities ten times. It was a mace that could bring justice even to the most powerful of sinners, and it was a mace that Lisa wanted dearly.

Lisa, however, had started to suspect that the seller had not been completely honest with her after she had passed the 'very large tree' on the map for the third time. And passing it a sixth had snapped her already thinned patience.

"Japery," Lisa hissed as she started to tear the map, before realizing that it would have to be in one piece for her to reasonably expect a refund. Instead she pocketed the defective product, and observed her surroundings carefully. After continuing on for a while in the direction dictated by a stick she had imbued with the wisdom of her goddess (at least she hoped she did), Lisa came upon an Ent, who she knew to be a good creature in general, if a bit xenophobic.

"Hello, wise Ent of the forest," she called to Addis as she approached, "why do you stare so affixed into the woods? Is there something of interest there? Perhaps a divine mace of great power?"

Lisa smiled at Addis with a subdued hope. Her belief in the inherent goodness of people leapt with joy at the thought that the map was just really bad, but the sentiment behind its creation was genuine.
You need more religious characters. Thankfully, I am here to provide.

"...Green flame," muttered Alice incredulously, looking up at the titan towering above the forest and wondering how she had missed such a thing. Her ears perked up, however, as she heard Rui-Ling telling her how awesome she was. Not as if she didn't already know, of course, but it was fun to hear, especially from that cocky guy. It appeared as if he knew his place, and as such, Alice would grace him with the 1337est of buffz.

Or she was about to, before the two were beset by swords and pomaceous product. Suddenly, a man stepped out of the shadows and began talking at them. He didn't say anything interesting until he addressed Alice, of course, but even then the only thing that caught her interest was 'grimoire'. He didn't even compliment her on how pretty she was or anything! Anyways, by his interest in her tea set and that other guy's arm, Alice had a good idea who he was.

"Kukuku~ you must be 'The Brochure'," announced Alice confidently before he tossed a ruby betwixt them. At first Alice thought he was bribing her with jewelry, but the magic word he shouted made it somewhat obvious that this was not the case. Using her enhanced speed and strength, Alice dove out of the way and covered herself with her invincible tea tray. Given her lack of traction on the forest floor, the explosion sent her rocketing into a nearby tree, which would have knocked her unconscious if not for her enhanced properties. As it was, she just had a headache.

Alice didn't have time for this guy. Rui-Ling was immortal or something, so he could take care of himself. Vincent, on the other hand, was fighting something from Shadow of the Colossus (which, though it was not Western in make, was Western enough in style for Mami to have enjoyed it. Like Metal Wolf Chaos, one of the greatest games ever made). Therefore, helping Vincent out was more important for now because he could actually die. Of course, Alice would come back for Rui-Ling and the grimoire later.

Standing up, Alice propped the tea tray on her back and ran at inhuman speeds towards the giant. As she left, however, she gave The Cataloguer a parting gift. Snapping her fingers, the heavily-armored man found himself covered completely in a mountain of bread, which would hopefully blind him long enough for Alice to make a clean getaway and for Rui-Ling to land a strong surprise attack.
Alice was fast. Perhaps the fastest Human alive. Even faster than the inferior machine of Japanese make that Rui-Ling was riding, like a modern John Henry except she would never die. But of course, being the gracious lady that she was, Alice decided to humor him and get on the bike, pointing forward.

"Kukuku~ yes, I will grace you with my presence. Now, servant, drive me to my destination post-haste," she ordered with the confidence and bigness of an American CEO who was also a cowboy.

Of course, she arrived quickly and not at all scared from being on a motorcycle, legs trembling and positively jellylike with excitement. She stumbled with Rui-Ling towards the sound of the gunshot, determined not to leave her incapable and incompetent cohort alone lest he find himself in a situation too sticky to get himself out of. What would these other chasers do without her?
After being caught and let down, Haruka casually made her way down the stairs until she came upon a dead body. Or the bones of such, at least. There was no skull, but everything else seemed to be there, along with some leather armor and a bag of tools. Haruka briefly clutched her pendant, and said a short prayer in her native language as the small paladin passed her by.

Haruka silently gathered up the available bones, using a length of rope to tie them up in the suit of leather armor.

"We will send you off properly soon," said Haruka, placing the bundle in the pack where she kept her wide variety of medicines. She then took to examining the tool pouch. Perhaps this adventurer would assist them from the afterlife.
"Do not be worry so much," said Haruka, giving Benita a reassuring smile, "when you do more adventure, smell of death will not seem so bad! Anyways, I will protecting you, so please do your best."

With that, Haruka looked down and saw two of their companions already at the bottom. She didn't personally need help getting down, because her body was trained beyond any normal person's by harsh, secret Eastern methods unknown to all but very few reclusive monks at a temple at the top of a high mountain, but help was appreciated all the same. It was very kind and thoughtful.

Haruka dropped down, fearless, and awaited the inevitable catch.
Alice took in the information gathered from Aria like some sort of giant supercomputer, and quickly determined the best course of action to be going to the Red Woods. Vincent wasn't a Chaser, after all. The man probably had no idea that a AAA-level threat might very well be present. Alice became a Chaser to save people, and now was the time for her to be a hero. First, however, she had to tend to her new fans

"Oh, how rude of me," Alice replied, flashing Orihime a polite smile, "I am-"

Just then, she was interrupted by a very familiar voice calling out her name as Ellie took a seat next to her. With Orihime admiring her on one side and Ellie admiring her on the other, it became clear to Alice that her fan club was indeed growing, and that she especially seemed to attract girls for some reason or another.

"Kukuku~ yes, I am indeed Alice-sama, as this one calls m-"

Alice looked over to regard Ellie, and suddenly her cheeks became intensely pink. Somehow, that damnable succubus had managed to uncover her one weakness: bunnies. Both Alice and Mami loved bunnies, and bunnygirls were even better. Alice looked away, attempting to reject her profound fascination, and started timidly touching her fingers together.

"U-um, thank you, Orihime," she muttered. Opposite Alice was Aria, to her right was Orihime, and to her left was Ellie. She was surrounded on all sides by girls that seemed to like her, but she had to get going! There was a life to save, and nothing could very well get done without the great Alice!

Alice looked across from her to Aria, and gave her a parting smile.

"My apologies, but I must excuse myself again post-haste," she said, filling teacups for Orihime, Ellie, and Kazuki in case they wanted any, "I have people to save."

With that, Alice jumped over the back of her seat and darted out the door at a speed impossible for any normal Human. She would have to consider bunny counter-measures on her trip to the Red Woods. This time, Alice decided, she would follow signs.
