Acacia Hawthorne"Perfection only goes so far. It's never about hitting the right note at the exact time and at the right pitch, or finding that key change, it's about the art of it, the passion. Believe me when I say that when I fall flat or sharp on a note, it doesn't make my performance any worse, it makes my performance my own. Own your flaws and people will forget they were ever flaws in the first place."No one is as inexplicably out of reach as Acacia Hawthorne. Despite her always friendly, always subconsciously sanctimonious attitude, and fabulous hair, she couldn't be farther up the social ladder if she wanted to and that meant a lot of people get crushed under her feet. If one were to tell this now, they'd get an audible gasp and she'd likely go around trying to change that.
She's Rapunzel.
Everyone sees it, but they don't say anything about it because she's too sweet and innocent. To be trapped in an ivory tower must be very hard to come to terms with and it must be eating her insides. But, Silas isn't one to make assumption and he isn't one to voice his opinions. Of course, he doesn't know the depths of her misery, but he realizes there is something there. No one's optimistic all the time. Humans need to feel sadness to ground themselves to reality and not the kind of sadness you feel for a hurt puppy, but for oneself. It's one thing to pity yourself and it's another to give that emotional turmoil an outlet. Silas knows all too well the ideology of being alone among a crowd.
He doesn't know her or pretend to know her and, to be honest, doesn't really want to know her. Someone who has the potential to be tragic isn't someone Silas wants to deal with, but it's more so that she's a fleeting person and many of the higher-ups around her scoff at the idea of anyone not from money or fame talking with the biggest hit in Caelbury. Of course, she's amicable and friendly and does her best to treat everyone equally, but her goal doesn't seem to be making friends, but rather getting through high school with her sanity. Isn't that everyone's goal in high school?
Jacob Rockwell"When you fall on your face, when the world is out to get you, when there are nothing but misfortunes at your doorstep, there are a few things that everyone should learn to do: get back up, laugh, and most of all find their music."Again, Silas doesn't like to be all that close to people or really talk to them for too long a period of time. Jacob himself seems a bit guarded and Silas isn't one to press matters further than simply being acquaintances. They're on good terms with each other, but they don't have all that much in common besides video games. Jacob is going one way and Silas is off on a completely different planet, though they could still be friends, it'd be nothing more than a tentative friendship. But, the respect he has for Jacob is higher than a lot of people can say.
There is something of about how Jacob acts from time to time, as if he's ashamed of something, but Silas hates getting into other people's business and so he minds his own. They'll help each other out (a favor for a favor), respect each other's abilities, and will chat occasionally, but if anything hints at going any deeper into their emotional and mental caverns, then they both tend to shut down.
Julie Scott"There's a giant gap in wealth and social standing for a reason, and until that's fixed, then I don't understand the need to wish for fame and fortune."What's the use of trying to be in the in crowd when the in crowd requires you to have a well established family fund and already be among the highest echelons of society?
Most of the wealthy inhabitants of Caelbury feel like their more than a person and it's evident that a lot of them have this urge to treat those lower than them as pets to fawn over. If anyone so much as utters, 'Awww' at him, like he's some kind of puppy, he'd have no problem punching them out. Money doesn't make a person and Silas wholeheartedly agrees with that, especially with what he's been exposed to during his 3 years at Caelbury. There is a lot of stupidity and a lot of bigoted hate around certain groups of people, so it's a wonder that Julie doesn't understand something like that better, seeing as she attempts to surround herself with said people.
He spotted her working once at a coffee shop, though he left the moment he saw her. They're on good terms, and Julie talks to him as much as possible, which is a bit off-putting to Silas, so to spot her there would probably end very badly for the both of them. Her naivety about the people around her should have sent Silas running for the hills, but he can't help but feel a bit of sympathy. Who wouldn't want to be in the in crowd? To be popular. He's watched Mean Girls before; he understands how good it feels when people look at you and only you, and not for any reason but how great you are at something. Something like that. But, he prefers to work for others and, as an entertainer, he plays for the audience's joy, not himself. He takes criticism from his peers kindly and hopes that Julie is able to do the same when someone approaches her about her need to make certain kinds of friends. Though, she doesn't seem to have too bad a taste for some people; if anyone would have any luck with Wren or Acacia, it'd probably be Julie and when that happens, he'll be happy for her. She proved him wrong
Max Wallenberg"A man of wealth who mingles with those supposedly lower than him is either running a charity or is simply bored."Silas isn't one for talking and neither is Max.
They have a mutual agreement not to bother the other and that's worked out perfectly or quite some time. However, Silas doesn't and will never approve of Max's current standing in his own social circle. He seems to have migrated to the lower class in order to escape the woes of the wealthy, and only as a kind of sadistic vacation. That's how Silas sees it, though he isn't one to voice his opinion regardless of the situation. Many misinterpret that as loathing, but it's more of a scoff worthy disappointment. He doesn't hate Max, just doesn't approve of what he's currently doing, especially with some of the women, though he's somehow settled down with an unexpected choice for his tastes and recent escapades.
Wren Sinclair"Life's too short to ruin your childhood."A gal that's way too busy working to notice her life going by; Silas likes to call her, "Jodie Foster 2.0".
He's definitely one to talk, seeing as he often works away at his music, but he makes sure there's always a day or two to enjoy life. He'd prefer to enjoy it with someone as like minded as he, but Caelbury makes it rather difficult to indulge in the less finer things in life. However, Wren has a kind of duality to her: she's one of the biggest names in Hollywood with so many things at her disposal, yet she'd rather sit down in front of a giant flat screen playing Halo 4. Of course, when she's got any free time, and from Silas' view, that's all very limited. She just seems so intent on getting from point A to Z whilst stopping at every individual letter in a number of mini-goals. Life is way too hard to drown oneself in work and, despite loving her work, she seems to be overworking herself in the process. Even when one loves their work as both they do, it's hard to notice anything else. All that beauty in life is there for a reason and there is always time to unwind and treat yourself.
Exhausting yourself with the work you love is wonderful, and there's that spark in her eyes that's so painfully obvious when she performs, but it dulls when your bones are aching and your muscles are stiff. All you can do at that point is fall down and forget that you'd made plans to stop and smell the flowers.
Eliza Herring"Play's that 'daddy's girl has some daddy issues' stereotype really hard. But, she's too smart to be that shallow."There's no one you quite want to either adore relentlessly or avoid completely than Eliza Herring.
She's got a veil around her that draws people in, almost a mix between diva and ditz, but always exuding that, 'I'm too good for you' kind of a vibe. Neither diva nor ditz begins to describe her, though, and Silas knows it, but she doesn't willingly put on the facade, it just seems to come forth and it's a wonderful way to completely close oneself off to a certain few people, that being Acacia, Wren, and maybe a few others. But, Silas does his best to avoid her because he's more than once noticed a certain glint in her eyes, like she's on some kind of mission and not a very good one, at that. Probably excuses it as a, 'I've got daddy issues' though she seems more like a daddy's girl than anything; but there's always something more to Eliza that she hides rather well, either out of necessity or a love for privacy.
Silas is just waiting for that moment where she's ready to blow.
Alena Rurik"I like how any rumor of her using steroids is always shot down on the account that she's just way too nice. Stepford Smiler number two?"There are so many stereotypes that Alena fulfills that her presence alone causes Silas' gaydar to go haywire. Whether that's a stereotype as well, is up for debate.
But, it's just a roaming suspicion and isn't something Silas is willing to bet on. Outing someone is the biggest douchebaggery you could do to a person still in the closet. There's a tentativeness to their interactions, but Silas doesn't acknowledge it much because they interact so little. It's not that Alena could probably rip him in half or have her way with him, even though he's willing to assume she wouldn't dare, but her extreme friendliness and aptitude to chat and be amicable rubs him the wrong way. It's most definitely nothing, but like Acacia, he doesn't necessarily trust overly optimistic and bright individuals. Not with his feelings and certainly not their own. People who smile the brightest have the most to hide, whether that something is bad or not, is totally up to that person. With Alena, it doesn't seem at all bad, or anything bad in the slightest, but there's something beneath that smile of hers.
Alex Harrowling"Unassuming. Not worth paying attention to. Guess that's how he likes it."
Tomika Marias"Too much to life than worrying where your money is going to go in ten years."
Malicia Palistar"Whether or not you warm up to someone doesn't change the fact that you looked down on them prior. There are too many strangers in this world to always look down on the people you don't know."
Aoife Abbot"An acquaintance is just an excuse to network further connections. If you have acquaintances, there's no need to trust anyone to do anything but their job."
Jack Riley"Caelbury's own Gossip Girl. A bonafide Perez Hilton. It's a shame when your number one talent is finding dirt on people. But hey, Perez Hilton is famous for nothing, so why not?"Someone who gossips for a living doesn't hold a favorable spot in Silas' book, whether that matters or not is totally up to them to decide. It probably doesn't matter to Jack, but Silas still doesn't respect him or give him any credit that he supposedly deserves. There's a special place in the pit of hatred in the back of his mind for people who do nothing but talk dirty and expect the world to praise them. So, of course he calls Jack the Perez of Caelbury, even if only to himself. He keeps away from him and is generally very un-opinionated when discussions veer his way or he brings up a discussion directed at him. Silas is known for being standoffish, so nothing seems out of the ordinary or new and Jack generally leaves him alone; there's no money in bringing down people who haven't known the notion of the media or wealth. And Silas has only gotten the reception of an artist and an artist's downfall is usually suicide sans movie stars and singers.
Connor MacQuarrie"Some people I just don't care to understand. Some people are just difficult to understand. And some people are both. It gets complicated."Connor, to Silas, is like a mix between a raging hormonal meatheaded jock and a philosopher. Like... you have to go over what he says more than once, otherwise all you'll hear is, "Drugs, steroids, party, pussy," and forget that there was actually substance to what he's saying. It's both confusing and detrimental to one's health, especially since the way he talks is so goddamn contagious. However, and luckily for Silas, he's the quiet type, so Connor's slang only purveys through the way he speaks in his mind, which is equally frustrating, but lacks the embarrassment. There's also something about Connor that slightly forces you to like him, or at least hate him a little less because the kid's brighter than a lot of people who act and talk like him, but he's still so goddamn annoying that it's easy to forget that Connor's still a human being, with issues and thoughts like everyone else. Actually, it's amazing how easy to forget that part. It's a good way to calm oneself down when accosted by his loud and obnoxiousness; breathe in and breathe out, remember that he's a person too and it'll all be fine.
Not to mention it's aggravating how well he holds his alcohol and how well he deals with it in the morning. And it's also aggravating how he seems to stay up all night and have the nerve to get up at the same damn time every morning, do his exercise routine, and scream whatever song he's playing whilst cooking. And it's aggravating how much eye candy he tends to be, yet infuriating how he has the decency to fling around his package like some goddamn Italian gigolo. And—suffice to say, there are a lot of aggravating things about Connor, but there's just this vibe he exudes that makes him loveable at the same time—the irony of actually liking him, despite wanting to rip his throat out. That... that is the most infuriating and most complex thing about knowing Connor.
Silas Aberhardt"Music is life. But so are a lot of other things."
Geoffrey Lenser"A tool that everyone uses. Sad that he's so blind to think that he's the shepherd and not the sheep."

Brenden Aldrin"Hope he finds this place as fun as he thinks it is. Would be unfortunate if it didn't appease him."

Alli Kendrick"People don't change, they just become addicted to something else."
