Name:

Holden Bishop

Age:

26

Appearance:

Standing at a daunting 6'1", Holden is the exact carbon copy of what people think when someone says, "Business Man," or, "CEO," and his parents don't let up reminding him of the fact. Aesthetically pleasing layer of solid muscle, accompanied by perfectly tanned skin, flawless complexion, and piercing blue eyes—add to that perpetually windswept hair that looks more expensive than a nice country home in the Midwest, and you've got a man who anyone would die to get somehow caught between him and the nearest bathroom stall. Always clean shaven and always smirking, he doesn't let anyone forget exactly who the devilishly handsome one is, though his friends never forget to remind him of the abnormally large feat he was "blessed" with. If not for the fact that he was a giant klutz who acted more goofy than he did posh and sophisticated, then he'd be the epitome of the word, "rich douchebag." 'Cause Holden has the clothes and looks to match, but the attitude and lack of coordination to completely negate it.

Job:

Doctor/Oncologist (Internship)

Relation to Friends:

Roomed with Jason during college; was a rough start due to his family background (who doesn't know THE Bishops?), but it eventually blossomed into a great friendship. As well, good friends with Jason's tag along, Nick.

Bio:

Born to a very well off pair in Los Angeles, Holden only knew the delights of a rich family, housed in a large home somewhere in the gated and windy section of Bel Air. His father had inherited a large, privately owned banking firm. Luckily for him, he had a few older brothers to take the throne once his father felt it time to retire at the ripe age of 40, making sure each child was well endorsed and fully prepared for the life of a head CEO or whatever job could earn them the most money and the family the most positive fame. Sheltered and with whatever he wanted, Holden didn't realize just how different the world was outside of the wealthy and renowned bubble he was unknowingly kept in. To him, there was nothing wrong unless he was hurting and in pain, which was exactly how he was taught. As long as he kept his eyes on the prize, he'd get exactly what he wished for.

And with connections like his, who could ever deny him?

So, it was odd that he wanted to become a doctor. Servicing those lower than him? That seemed downright insanity. But... there was something in him that he hadn't quite felt before and he couldn't, at all, put a finger on it. Which was why his father gave him hell for it, raining down his rage and disappointment like fire and brimstone. He wasn't supposed to be digging through the plebeian muck; the bourgeois were there to service him, not the other way around. He had his cake practically handed to him at birth and now he refused to eat it? This was worse than coming out to parents who were vocally against homosexuality or whathaveyou, of which his parents treated as any normal sexual need (they fully endorsed infidelity, which was the actual offense). Not like he brought boys home like a crazed sex addict; his brothers took care of that with the amount of girl's screeching at the concept of the fortune they all leisurely sat on.

It definitely took awhile to get used to, much less accept, but before he knew it, Holden was gone in the blink of an eye. Of course, he wasn't thrown out, he just went on to college. Money waited for him back home, of which he didn't quite care for as much as he thought he would. It would never be an issue for him, since his parents tended to baby him like their prized possession. His brothers were practically drug addicts dressed up in exquisitely tailored clothes and talking in their highfalutin accents; spoiled, well groomed, and waiting for the next check to roll in to waste on whatever they could—mostly drugs and women. They weren't exactly the Bishops his family was known for, but they worked to keep the company afloat while his parents wasted away their time in private clubs and poolside cocktail parties.

On the other side of the world, however, he was busy working as hard as he could to become the exact thing he wanted. Despite also valuing infidelity, greed, and utter manipulation, the Bishops, over everything else, endorsed hard work and diligence. You wouldn't be able to see it at first, through the obvious need for social interaction and attention, but Holden was the epitome of their family motto: Nihil Boni Sine Labore (Nothing Achieved Without Hard Work). And work he did. He graduated at the top of his class and with outstanding honor, ready to jump right into work. However, there was still the need to go through the necessary requirements of any doctor, that being internship, which wasn't paid... at all. That wasn't a problem for his parents, of which graced him with the exact money he needed for a nice home wherever he decided to live out his internship. Only the best for a Bishop.

However, there came a better offer. It wasn't the bachelor pad penthouse his parents assumed he'd be living in, but a pad nonetheless with friends he grew more than accustomed to during his college years. Paying his part of the rent wasn't an issue and he'd offer more if he knew others couldn't quite add to the pool, which he did with as much grace and tact as he could. It was easy to offend people by flapping around hundred dollar bills like they were quarters. Money wasn't what he was after, it was the satisfaction he got when he worked and when he helped people he knew were in need.

After all, being an oncologist brought both the amazing feeling of saving someone's life and the one of dread when you knew you couldn't, no matter what you did. He knew what it was like to suffer; he saw death everyday. It was then, during his years studying his ass off, that he realized class, wealth, and who you were or who you knew didn't matter when you were on your deathbed, regardless of age. It gave him more meaning than he cared to acknowledge sometimes.

Personality:

Diligence is Holden's middle name. Work, work, and more work. He loved it and he definitely couldn't get enough of it, even when he was given plenty of opportunities to just slide by like his brothers, knowing there was a safety net made of his family fortune right below him. Of course, he wasn't one to let good ol' fun fly over his head. He took those opportunities too and sometimes took a nice, relaxing day away from work for granted. Overstressed and high strung from long nights often makes him quite the bitter individual and it can be grating if he isn't forced to sit down and rest for a moment. It usually takes more than a few drinks to get him piped down and in a state of normalcy, which isn't quite as hard as he usually intends to make it.

He has a deep sense of remorse for what his parents put him through, though he keeps those resentful feelings as far down as he can. He'd never voice his opinions to his own parents, nor to anyone else for that matter, but he recognizes it as a problem... it's just hard for him to solve it. It's easier to run away from something like that than to face it head on, though he'd never admit to running away from a problem—that's not what Bishops do. It's not hatred, though, and he'll make sure you know that; he loves his parents deeply, but has always been forced to witness and participate in their petty games and their intense fervor to get him to realize that he's no different than them. It makes it harder when you have brothers who aren't even looked on as Bishops and are, more or less, simply placeholders. His parents would never admit it, but they want nothing more than him to fail at achieving his dream and realize that his home is in Bel Air, running their multi-billion dollar company like the good little puppet he is.

All of that and more is exactly why he has friends like Jason, who understand, more than ever, the idea of terrible parents.

Relationship?:

What, I'm shallow? And you're saying you can pass up a good lookin' guy? Please, if he's hot, then why not? [Insert Sly Wink Here]

Other:
-Is a neat freak, as well as OCD about organization
-Has a habit of biting his lip when he's nervous
-Knows he's a klutz and hates being told about it
-Wants desperately to adopt a ferret and proclaim it the house pet
-Has a nasty sweet tooth (He puts sugar on everything)

Pascale Isadora Buckley
♫♪ Fetchez La Vache! ♫♪

There was absolutely no rush to get anywhere at all, in fact, if given the choice, Pascale would have gladly made herself more comfortable where she sat. It was part nerves and part, well, no it was all nerves, what little of it there was. But, nerves were good; they kept people on their toes. It was her preparation as she breathed in a deep breath and released a quite sigh before venturing onto the airship with the other students. She was at a disadvantage and that was only her being a Faunus. There was always that nagging feeling in the back of her head that... maybe she didn't quite belong. It was just a matter of time before she got in over her head and maybe this was that blinding flash of realization that would hit her any moment now. If she couldn't take care of herself out there, where there was real danger, then there would be absolutely no hope for her. The Headmaster's speech the other night was running through her head on repeat, scolding her for everything wrong she had done in the years prior to applying to Beacon.

Finding herself by the window, her eyes traveled to one of the nearby students. Lady Sakanade, she had overheard countless times passing her and her posse, group, servants even, by. Pascale didn't quite feel the need to further tense herself with highfalutin conversation, which was what she assumed she'd get from just looking at her and from the small snippets she did her flow from her blue blood mouth. There'd be plenty of time to get acquainted, should she find herself in the same team. Another thing to worry about, not necessarily Miss Sakanade, just people in general. This was getting to be too much.

Only the serene view from her spot could tense the contorted muscles twisting her expression and tightening every muscle on her body. Nerves were great, needless worrying was not. That wasn't who Pascale was, anyway. She was the silent go getting observer, wanting nothing more to do with life than needless fun and wonderment and a sense of purpose that she could finally fulfill at Beacon. Succumbing to her own soothing thoughts, Pascale let her eyes close, let her body lean forwards slightly. After a moment of simple breathing, tuning out the voices in the background, she found herself staring outside, getting lost in the landscape and morning sky. There would always be a nagging feeling in the back of her mind, but she repressed it for now. One couldn't just get rid of fear in just a few seconds and now definitely wasn't the time to be releasing any unwanted feelings; that would either exhaust her or get her further out of focus.

It was her now, alone again, relying purely on herself to get things done. There'd be people later, but now wasn't the time to rely on others who simply weren't there.
