Speaking towards the whole aspect of it, I can see Brett in a role similar to the Cate Blanchett role. Meaning an antagonistic role. Either that or a friend of the family who 'got out clean' (or never left) or something like that. Perhaps a combination of both.

Oooh, I'd love to see her do something like that (Cate Blanchett's role). Such a titular character it'd be... I wonder how she'd improvise all of that and if she'd get away with it. :o

You should throw elements of Red in there, Mizuho. Just because... I loved that movie and it's primarily because of Morgan Freeman and Helen Mirren... and Bruce Willis... >_> and John Malkovich. *Cough* Maybe a whole coming together of 'retired' family members type of deal, kind of as the supporting ensemble that works with the father and daughter?

You can still work in the Hanna deal with the kidnapping being a kind of ruse to get closer to the antagonist. But keep elements of Taken that you were inspired by. We just got to make sure we incorporate our own flare and panache into it, so it's not just a jigsaw puzzle of a bunch of action/spy flicks. But, if we want to do that, I'm not opposed to incorporating Get Smart into it either. I'm just saying that as a joke...

I need to see Hanna, but I like the idea behind it. As for the dad, either Nick or Virgil. Nick's younger, but looks older, while I think Virgil's just more vibrant? I don't know, heh. Virgil could definitely play a villain or just another family member? 'Cause I think I can see Nick a lot more as the father. Uh... hm... *shrug* While you guys do your thing, I think I'm gonna continue piling on the aesthetics to my CSes because I like doing that and it preoccupies me. >_> <_< >_> <_<

Appearance:
A stark 6'3" and weighing at 188 lbs, Virgil is the embodiment of a confident individual, with a snarky attitude to boot. Charming, dashing, everything you could ever want in a man.

'Cept, not really.

From a bystander's point of view and seeing him on the big screen and in photos inside magazines, he's a man who stands as if he demands attention. Like he's gonna reach out and grab you by the collar, slam you up against the wall, and proceed to emasculate every part of your being. Wide gait, authoritative, 'I'm taking up all this space' kind of stance, and piercing blue eyes to boot; and that smile is to die for, with all those pearly whites shiny in the blinding supernova of camera shots. Sharp jaw, sharp nose, and sharp hair. The latter not literal, but something of equal importance to his ensemble. Decked out in mostly fashionable suits or designer wear whenever in large public gatherings, but that's not what garners the attention he usually gets. The award winning smile of his and such well kept hair—obsidian bangs bouncing just above eye level in a feathery bunch that looked as if he attempted to sweep it to the side multiple times, in vain—are enough to make his fans weak in the knees. Slicked back on the sides, displaying the main attraction of his features like a pair of sparkling Valentino suits in a windowsill, there's nothing quite he values more in aesthetics than his hair. A fierce gaze and a figure sculpted out of the finest marble demands attention, seizes it, and never lets it go. With a presence like his, it's hard not to look at him, either with raging contempt and jealousy, or admiration that leaves you breathless and drooling. (Does not account for the number of people who consider him bland looking and not at all attractive; every dichotomy is a false dichotomy, sadly)

To top it all off, Virgil is nothing at all what he seems. A raging goofball with a propensity to fall on tied shoelaces, Virgil builds up the hope that he's the knight in shining armor waiting to sweep a fair maiden off her feet and promptly obliterates it. He doesn't just tear it down—he takes an atom bomb to it and then proceeds to burn whatever's left of it to ashes. Outside of anything professional, red carpet highlights or actual movies, Virgil is a disaster waiting to happen. In fact, he has more blooper reels of his mishaps and mistakes than Jackie Chan and Chris Tucker do in all of the Rush Hour movies combined. That charming smile turns into a wide, sheepish grin that knows just what the hell it did to that ten thousand dollar camera and the wide set gait of his turns into a pair of jumbling feet attempting to retrieve the footing it lost. Messy and kind of unkempt, the only thing that remains of the dashing young(ish) lad in that movie is the hair. But, he isn't a slob nor is he gross beyond measure, just clumsy to an incredible degree and goofy more or less 90 percent of the time he's off camera... and maybe 20 to 50 percent of the time the camera's rolling. And not only that, but his once deep set and smooth as molasses voice goes up an octave and is filled with 'oops,'s, 'I'm sorry,'s, and 'pardon me,'s to an ingratiating degree and rolls off his tongue faster than most people can comprehend.

His mother has no idea what some of his coworkers are talking about, though.

"That goofball of mine is a bundle of adorable waiting to explode. It just so happens he explodes onto the most expensive things these days—at least he cleans up after himself and pays for it. You should have seen him when he was a kid," thick Minnesotan accent filled with only words of endearment a mother could come up with. Especially since she's not known the mercy of a well-balanced child who's ruined more china sets than a bull in that idiom people use to describe disastrously graceless individuals.

Personality:
Well, what more is there to explain?

Bright-eyed and bushy tailed, it's hard to tell if he's willingly ignorant because it truly is blissful, or if he really understands what goes on around him and is just that resilient. Regardless, Virgil treats his life like a movie just waiting to be filmed and his lack of seriousness tends to make him hard to work with, purely because it's like telling a child with ADHD to sit still—the problem being that he is afflicted with ADHD, not diagnosed for so long because of a slightly ignorant mother. Of course, when all of the goofing off has flown overhead and he's exhausted himself of it, Virgil more than makes up for the lack of work by double timing it. By enveloping himself in his work space and melding into a role; it's like staring at a different person when he acts, as if he's truly brought that person alive and into the real world. The transformative process isn't because he sees something out of the role that others don't, that he garners a message that a character is somehow portraying, and he certainly doesn't look into a role so deeply that he can pull some out of it that suddenly 'makes sense'. He acts well because he understands what acting is at its base form, aside from all the technicalities, the intonations, the facial features, the body language, the subtleties; none of that truly matters at the simplest. It's pretending, make believe, becoming a different person and bringing that world to life for others to enjoy and escape. Of course, he can't take a role and suddenly become it because understanding doesn't make his contract or talent void of any work—he just knows how to amplify and become a role he's given to a degree, without any attachments. It's art to him, it's his passion, and it's painfully obvious in the way he works. All the technicalities seem to coalesce under a specifically honed skill and innate talent, but most of all a kind of ardor unique to Virgil.

A fellow who either makes loyal friends, or livid enemies. He portrays a very amicable person, maybe a little too friendly for some people and possibly someone who may seem like he has ulterior motives. Of course, about 99% of the time, he doesn't have a motive other than to cavort around like a complete idiot and tool. Loud, boisterous, completely unaware of the volume of his voice off-camera, Virgil is an obtrusive individual who intends to poke too deeply into another person's life and personal space. It's a degree of curiosity that comes off as rude, more than anything else, but he mostly has good intentions and is just a little overly friendly and may not get the hint most people tend to drop. It's not odd for people to drop the 'annoying,' adjective, which is the politest term used to describe him, in regards to how they feel about him, but again, either he's extremely resilient or truly just that ignorant.

Life is a roller-coaster, and there's really no way around that. Just like anyone, Virgil has his highs and lows, except he just responds differently to the stress in his life. Being in the spot he is in and doing the job he does is truly something worth being happy for. He looks at his life as if he was the luckiest guy in the world and, in a sense, he kind of is. Completely contradicting his previously boisterous attitude, in solitude Virgil is a guy of an odd calmness who, more or less, is a kid completely worn out from a day of nothing but running and doing things only someone stupid or young would do. Virgil is just as happy with a bowl of ice cream and a good movie as he is with a bottle of beer and a raucous crowd. It just takes some time and a nice place to wind him down enough for the moment his actual ADHD decides to completely exhaust him and further entice him with the offer of relaxation. In saying that, not many people know the quieter, more thoughtful side of Virgil and it says a lot about how he really feels about those he deems friends. There's a special kind of person that really gets to know the deeper side of Virgil and it's not the random stranger in a pub or on the sidewalk.

So, yeah, Virgil is willingly ignorant in public and truly resilient all around. He knows his way around the business side of a movie, knows the themes surrounding certain areas and the ideas that plague the thoughts of the average human being. In all honesty, he simply doesn't care enough to bog his life down with the same plague like thoughts that stress the population. He's got a life unlike any other and he knows it. He doesn't rub it in people's faces, but he does relish in the fact that he's just a tad different and will continue to do so until it either comes crashing down or ends with him in his own grave. There's nothing wrong with enjoying life. But, then again, he'd probably enjoy rolling around the deep green, grassy fields of his home town, forgetting the hustle and the bustle of city life and preferring the quiet lights of the stars overhead over the flashing mob of paparazzi. A guilty pleasure of his usually surrounds the fact that, in all its irony, Virgil, above all else, soaks in the rapture of the rural country, rolling green far off into the horizon. Peace in the flourish of a busy life is like a bastion waiting to be unfurled and savored. Not the passion that's of the calibre acting is to him, but take movies away, and there's nothing he'd love more.

History:
From tiny farm in Minnesota to the large expanse of bustling Los Angeles. It didn't stat out necessarily the way a tragic story would, with a kid who's past is riddled with hardships left and right. Virgil had an ordinary life, was one of those kids who wished upon a star when they were little, but left any dream of being a princess and astronaut with their youth. You know, moved on to being an accountant for a big business firm or maybe just a local grocer destined to live in their small town forever. There was no pity in that because life there was easy, to some degree, and not filled with the glitz and glamour of Hollywood, or the backstabbing pain and mask wearing of the entertainment industry. Roll with the punches, but don't forget to lash back in the most vindictive way possible. Scandals galore. But, the scandals of small town Minnesota were trivial in comparison.

"Charlie didn't go to church on Sunday!" insert a multitude of gasps.

"Did you know Betsy's son is gay?" insert more gasps.

They were tossed behind your back and forgotten the next meet 'n greet because they didn't really matter when facing the person up front. Most people knew scandals weren't what made the person; scandals were for entertainment purposes, so they were either so blase that talking about it wouldn't affect the person's reputation one bit or just things knowing blown out of proportion because their soul purpose was to start a chat. Everything was taken at face value and most of the people in his town were honest, maybe a little brutally so, but they didn't fuss or complain about each other. The town was so small, neighbors knew neighbors across the other side what should have been called a village. Rumor mills weren't used to garner as much money from a 'who slept with who' story and no one made it out to be anything more than fun. You went to church on Sunday, school or work the rest of the days, went to family outings on Saturdays, went to the football games on Fridays, and simply lived your life. There was nothing more to it. And when you grew up, you'd move to the next house over and raise your family on the intrinsic values you grew up with. Nothing more and nothing less.

Virgil grew up with those ideals, made through life like the kid next to him and folded into the mold set by his small town society and his parent's ideals. Sure, he had his dreams, every kid did. His were just tailored more toward being an actor than a princess or an astronaut; not many kids liked to watch movies and then reenact them for his parents. Not many kids begged for tap shoes and wanted to be a different iteration of Clark Gable every time Halloween came around. Kids usually dropped their dreams around adolescence, preferring the rudimentary and mundane life of a teenager in the middle of nowhere. There was no way to improve on the talent that he possessed aside from the continuous putting on a show for the parents when he came around to hitting puberty. To his father, it was about time to stamp out any hopes of being a star and time to take up a shovel and start working a real job. The doe-eyed, proud of my son look that never seemed to escape his mother's features had more in mind than throwing Virgil's dreams out the window. Naive and just wanting what was best for her child, she fostered his passion more so with the lessons she piled onto her paycheck so far from the town it took about two hours to and from the place. Not only that, but she past the point of no return when, without consent from his father, took him to New York to see what was all the rage on Broadway.

That was it. There was no going back then. The glint in Virgil's eyes were long past returning to the safe, humdrum of farm life. This was what he wanted to do for the rest of his life, however long or short that would be. It excited his mother, even if she had no inkling of a clue as to how to get him there. You give a woman who hasn't a clue of how something work talent beyond measure and she'll tell you it's pretty good. Not fantastic, not revolutionary, just good. That's what she had with Virgil, that's what the whole town had with Virgil. Not a single soul knew of the paramount of brilliance tied up in that little mind of his, tap dancing and singing and acting to his hearts content as if he hadn't just hit the jackpot. Who knew a six year old kid could match a powerhouse like Freddie Mercury in pitch and range and could dance the toes off the instructor? Well, maybe not exactly; there was a lot of untapped potential in Virgil that just needed the right push. He wasn't a child prodigy, by any means, but he had more talent in his pinky finger than a lot of people.

So, getting into one of the most prestigious schools wasn't that big of a surprise. Well, maybe not from where he is now, but then it was like he needed to pinch himself every few minutes to see if he was still awake. Virgil made his big break at Julliard, was in numerous productions before he went on further to audition for The Light in the Piazza and snatched the supporting role of Fabrizio Naccarelli. And then further went on to be cast in numerous other musicals and a play before finding himself in Hollywood a few years later. Finally, still young enough and certainly with the looks to do so, he scored a large role on the elusive Catcher in the Rye (is currently being scrutinized since the rights have been so difficult to get), in which he was the perfect age and height to portray the phony hating Holden Caulfield, and then going on to star in an original romantic comedy, Damnable and Irrevocably Irritating, where he played the ever charming younger brother of the lead, played by Paul Rudd. Both of which he won Oscars and was nominated for numerous other awards. Finally going on to further his career in various other productions, Virgil simply goes with whatever graces him and does so with a smile on his face. Still thinking he's more than lucky and definitely not wanting to screw any of his chances up, he's more than happy to continue doing as he is.

Furthermore, he tends to bounce from Los Angeles to New York, between Broadway productions and the big screen. And finally, always finding time to head back to Minnesota to relax with his family, primarily when his movies hit the big screen. Every time a movie with his name comes out, his tiny town tends to hold a small get together at a drive-in movie theatre, of which he attends a few days after the initial premiere showing. Virgil showed and still shows a great attachment to his small town and his family, even after the big fiasco that kind of had his name plastered to various magazines and had him running around the nation doing talk shows about his coming out. It took a little while for his hometown to get used to the fact, but have no doubt warmed up to him... probably because he's a kind enough fellow to fund various things within the town and keep its local businesses and schools on its feat. As well, they quickly learned he's still the same Virgil they've known their whole lives. Though, his mother still scolds him for not treating it as a big a deal as he should have and not taking care to ease the public into it—she smacked him upside the head after replaying the recording of the Golden Globes in which he came out on.

"...that kid, that guy right there, should get a medal for aiding an old bitty like me up the stairs. I've had so much to drink. Don't worry kid, I'll only shag you if you follow me out to my car. How old are you? Old enough."

To which she exclaimed, "Are you serious? I have no words for you right now, I'm so angry. That kid was seventeen! I read those magazines!" A quick slap to the back of the head again, this time to wipe the smile off of his face and the correction he was about to make. The kid was actually around his mid twenties. And then a stern talking to about protection and not being promiscuous, which funneled into a lot of misconceptions and misunderstandings about stereotypes until she was finally satisfied.

The good thing is that it did destroy any rumors of him and his female co-stars getting it on in his trailer, when they were really just acting like idiots.

At the moment, Virgil is just coming off of The Book of Mormon tour in the fall, where he played Elder Price, and is just finishing auditions for the current big-hit movie.

Miscellaneous:
-Has ADHD, which has always been a big factor in his life and kinda refuses to take medicine for it, so he's especially wild during moments where things are all happening at once, which is sometimes... well, most of the time on set. It's hard to grab his attention and the only thing that he can seem to do efficiently is act, which is his job, so most people tolerate it.
-Currently two Oscar wins, for Best Supporting Actor and Best Actor, and has won 5 Tony Awards. As well, has won various GLAAD awards.
-Gets very defensive when people talk about those "lower" than them, especially since he came from a background in which he was raised and brought up in the world outside of showbiz and fame.
-Deep love of ferrets. Loves 'em. Can't get enough of 'em. Doesn't know why.
-Only had one relationship, of which wasn't very publicized and was kind of secretive. Most likely just a fling. Kept on the downlow primarily because it was with a director for a musical he starred in.
-Occasionally breaks into song and dance at random moments. Apart of being ADHD and needing something to grasp his attention when things are boring him.
-Has a home he doesn't normally go to in Los Angeles, somewhere in Malibu, and one he spends most of his time at in New York.
-If given a choice between California and New York, he'd most likely choose New York. But, then he'd go with Minnesota over all of them. And maybe Australia, if not given Minnesota as a choice.
-Hasn't actually spent time outside of the United States. Not once has a role demanded he fly out of country, though he certainly wishes he could travel more, but doesn't quite have the time.
-Doesn't hide much anymore, since there's really nothing too juicy or scandalous about him, something that the press learned quite a bit ago. Though, the coming out story hit the shelves quicker than he could run home to explain and there have been numerous false stories about him and his coworkers, mainly his relationships with some of his producers and directors, and sometimes his fellow costars. He can be a bit bland and the only real issue is that he's notorious for wrecking things on set.
-He's accumulated about a million or so bucks he's owed for damaged equipment, that he gladly pays for.
-(I might change the first movie he's starred in. Not sure if I can see him as a Holden Caulfield, but if no one minds, and I don't find something better to replace it, then I'll keep it there.)

Luke Clemens:

"A director who's still in the throes of puberty, that's... enough to be cautious. But, you gotta give a kid a chance—might be surprised. Who knows?"

Everyone's gotta start somewhere, that's a firm belief that Virgil holds close. Of course, he understands why people are even cautious, at all. Other than that, he's not really paid too much attention to Luke, as he doesn't really have the time to with his overly busy schedule. He might have caught a movie he was in or that he made, if he made any yet, but he doesn't have the memory to remember until it actually becomes a subject in a conversation he's a part of. All in all, he has no real high regards nor does he have any lesser opinions in regards to Luke—just a nice neutral that can easily be swayed into something positive through further interactions.

Maximillian Harrison:

"I'll show you clumsy—this guys is like James Bond with the that Skyfall theme blaring in the background. You tellin' me that he doesn't fake fall through those windows?"

The optimism is a good mark in Virgil's book, though he tends to not like using stuntmen as he prefers to do everything himself. It breaks the immersion for him and it's the only time everyone onset enjoys his hyperactive attitude. If he's having a stuntman do his thing, then there's no way to funnel the excess energy that Virgil has pint up inside himself. Of course, that doesn't mean he dislikes Max, not at all. In fact, he prefers his company over a lot of people's because he can actually tolerate him. Not only that, Max, Peter learned, is a good way to tire Virgil out. If there's anyone that Virgil looks forward to having a beer with, it's probably Max, set aside the whole relationship is platonic—only a tad bit disappointing to Virgil. Virgil likes Max for his attitude, his activeness, and his passion for the art he helps make, especially the way he looks at his job: just one huge action flick. It's refreshing and it's why he usually prefers being friends with the crew rather than his costars.

From a professional view point, Virgil respects Max for the great work he does and understands that slip ups happen every now and then—he would know. As well, sometimes a stuntman does have to step in for him, especially when things get a little dangerous and the director can't necessarily risk Virgil's lack of coordination. There have been numerous times where he's broken a limb or two because he was particularly careless about a stunt he was doing. It postponed the film for a good amount of time, which earned him some very nasty glares and sneers and complaints for the rest of production. So, if there's anyone that he'd love to have step in for him, it would definitely be Max. What more, Max actually has done some stunt work for a film Virgil starred in, so he can certainly attest to Max's talents and reliability.

Harris Klein:

"He reminds me of The Grapes of Wrath for some reason. Great classic, poignant, awesome theme; I wish I could have read the book without falling asleep."

To Virgil, Harris is no doubt a man who should probably retire soon. That's not to say that he doesn't have extreme respect for him and probably owes a lot of his own passion and talent to some of Klein's greater works, but there's just something bitter about him continuing to try and revert Hollywood back to the old ways. Of course, Virgil can't help but be awed by his presence, something that feels as if it demands the attention it deserves. From a personally angle, Virgil admires and draws inspiration from Klein, but from a professional view, he feels that it's longtime a great such as Klein hangs it up for good and find solace in fleeing the corrupt and bogged down entertainment industry. There's just something futile about how he hangs on so hard and it turns the sour man bitter, in Virgil's eyes.

Setting aside his opinion on Klein still working so hard against the times, Virgil appreciates the vast knowledge he brings to the set and does his best to at least impress him once. If he can do that, then he'd be happy even if the movie flopped. Of course, when not on camera, there's a visible strain in the relationship between the two, due to Virgil's attitude and less than calm demeanor. Not only that, but it's hard for Virgil to get certain directions down and remember things he's been told, which often cause a lot of misinterpretations and misunderstandings which probably grate on the crew and most likely Klein. If there is one aspect that Virgil keeps consistent, it's his acting.

Jake Wilson:

"Pretty Boy Rick Steves. That's hilarious. No, that's... that's pretty hilarious. At least we have that in common. Cute guy, cute guy."

Due to Jake's elusiveness from the rest of the crew, only due to his job, Virgil doesn't quite know him well, outside of his connection with Phoebe. They've done a few productions together where Jake scouted out locations for the films, of which were top notch. They had one instance where they met, to which Jake couldn't quite believe Virgil hadn't stepped foot outside the country and that he could maybe remedy that in the next production they're both on together. Of course, it's been awhile since Jake made the offer and Virgil all but forgot about it. But, he does appreciate Jake's input on sights to see and places to go when scouting out locations, in particular, he scouted out a quiet, rural park during the winter when they filmed Catcher in the Rye. He spent over five hours each night night just sitting out there for every take they had to do. He could remember exactly the state of the trees around him, the snow crunching under his boots, and the chill of the air that stung his nose. He could recount the times he remained silent when a costar was looking for him and the times he spent staring up at the sky—no light pollution to fade out the stars. Sadly, Virgil hadn't the chance to thank Jake for finding such a place with that kind of atmosphere.

There's an inkling of attraction purely because he's nice to look at, but nothing that Virgil would quite take a chance on.

Phoebe J. Collins:

"Phoebe? Goldilocks? She calls me 'Dandy Beau Brummell', which is a bit redundant, but funny, and I really wish I had a funny quip for her that wasn't just a generic 'you're blonde'. There's no one I more enjoy working with, though—blaring music and wasting time on set."

He and Phoebe met on the set of the romantic comedy he filmed, of which he won an Oscar for. He profusely thanked her that night, repeating so much that they actually played the 'You're taking too damn long' outro so loud he was forced off stage. Her high energy and need to do something that wasn't standing still was simply bonding material for Virgil. Not only could he match her pace, but he could surpass it. There's absolutely no professional aspect of their relationship, though they respect each other for how well they perform their jobs. He vows to one day make her a part of a crew of a Broadway production, just so she can understand just how hectic and crazy it can get from both ends. As well, there's only one person he can safely say would crank up the volume on the radio and go crazy with him onset (as long as Amy or Klein aren't around and she isn't nearing a deadline, that is).

Leo PNB Xavier:

"Makes nice clothes, uh, creative. Has terrible parents."

There's not much Virgil can directly say about Leo, other than he makes amazing costumes, but that's really it. He doesn't necessarily interact with him, though he respects his passion just as much as his own. Other than that, he's probably done a production with his sister, though he can't quite remember unless told the title, and knows they both have a bit of a past. It's done and over with, so he can't really pity them, especially since they seem to have grown well enough past that.

Amy Ho:

"Steel Bladder. That's what I call her. I mean, she drinks enough coffee for ten of me; where does all that go? I personally can't drink coffee without needing to use the bathroom two seconds later."

There's no one who probably hates him more for his need to move around than Amy Ho. Not only that, but his direction taking skills aren't quite up to par with her professional standards. When he jumps on set, she immediately grabs her coffee, downs it, and promptly orders a half a dozen more. He's a stressmonger in a bottle waiting to explode on the nearest crew member, and Amy knows it. But, she can't necessarily say much, aside from the numerous amounts of yelling and exasperated huffs because when it finally clicks, Virgil more than makes up for his onset habits and lack of an attention span. He remains a pain in the ass, though, and he kind of understands if Amy gets this feeling of dread every time she has to work a scene with him. He's not the most pleasant worker on set, but at least he gets his job done.

Off set, however, and in rare moments where he's actually quiet, he and Amy can get along fairly well. Once the tension wears off and he's more tired than he is annoying, Virgil becomes a nice friend to take a few shots with and unwind to take in the environment. He's probably among the people who can understand Amy's appreciation for the world around her that she no doubt projects through her photography, and that hopefully raises him from annoying pest to 'he's alright', in her book.

Peter Zolner:

"He's pretty much a Siberian Winter. Albeit, an adorably tiny guy; reminds me of an always frowning Samoyed or a Siberian hedgehog, which don't exist. He just needs a hug."

The enigma of cinematography, though people probably don't share his sentiment. Peter and Virgil have worked on about two projects together, where they costarred side-by-side (one of which was a Broadway musical). When the camera starts rolling, Peter transforms completely until it's impossible to remember who he really was, but when the scene is over and the director has enough takes, he reverts back to his slumped over, quiet self before. Of course, despite being awed by the transition at first, Virgil, after working with him for extended periods of time, can tell it's a lot more than just acting to Peter—a tragic figure, as he likes to put it. All this raw talent and yet no one, aside from his fans, who appreciates it. But, there's really nothing Virgil knows beyond what he assumes and what he's seen from Peter; the two never really got to talking and it was almost as if the guy was put off by Virgil's incessant hyperactivity. From afar, though, Peter is a very interesting individual to watch, from his habits to the way he interacts with people.

There is one thing that struck a positive note in all the humdrum and melancholia that hung above Peter: his daughter. The girl is a bundle of sunshine in the most cliche way possible and it's infectious, even to a solemn guy like Peter. The only time Virgil has every seen the man smile is when his daughter is with him and when he does, it's extremely refreshing and just as infectious as his daughter's delightful demeanor. Now, if only he could just hear the guy laugh, maybe shake lose a little bit. Nothing a beer, or fifty, could remedy.

He did kind of laugh when Peter attempted to grow some facial hair for a part they did, to which Peter blushed profusely and shut himself in to completely shave his face. Virgil still apologizes incessantly for the mishap.

Max Goldstein:

"Just a big question mark. I don't know how to feel about him."

Virgil hasn't had many producers who like to make friends over money, so Max is a confusing individual to him. Of course, that's not to say Virgil doesn't like him, he's just a tad more wary around him. It does help that this Max looks totally different from the other Max, which makes it easy to tell the difference between the two, especially when Virgil has made a habit of calling the producer Goldstein, instead of Max. Other than that, Virgil does his best to avoid the man every turn of the way just so he doesn't get caught in anything, should his suspicions be true and Goldstein does have some kind of motive behind making 'friends'.

Addison Matthews:

"Hair care products!"

Doesn't even know her, but he certainly wants to. If here's anyone who loves their hair as much or more than Virgil does, then that's just more of a reason to want to know them. Of course, he's not gotten the chance to know her just yet, Virgil loves getting to know people, meeting people, kind of anything to do with people. So, she honestly better get ready to get accosted and assaulted by a man more hyperactive than a kid.

Leila Fox:

"Alternative, ultra-modern, odd. I dunno. I'm just throwing out adjectives that I think are correct. Don't know her well and haven't seen her much; there's only so much you can grasp from a photo."

Again, someone he doesn't quite know, aside from the fact that she models and is in some photos. But, again, there's not a lot one can grasp from a photo aside from what the photography may be selling or something like that. She is new to acting and hopefully aspires to pursue it further than just one movie, so that Virgil can certainly get behind. But, she's quiet and seems more reserved than anything, which is off-putting in the sense that he often feels as if he tries to hard to change those people into outgoing extroverts. He doesn't like pushing those kind of people past their comfort zones because they remind him a lot of his hometown, just an observation bubble outside of the society allegedly surrounding it. People of her demeanor and attitude are often reminders to slow down a little, but he can't help but feel a small itch to completely accost her like he usually does.

Nicholas Lyons:

"I just wanna touch his beard and dig my fingers in it. It's an endless pit of manly, isn't it? Just this gaping hole of Chuck Norris."

Nicholas doesn't necessarily jab at him with jokes as much as he does Peter, but he understands he doesn't quite mean the things he says. Virgil is quite of fan of Nicks, especially of his father's, but he tries not to mention either around him. He doesn't necessarily meld well with his relaxed nature, but that doesn't deter Virgil from making friendly, if not to joke around with him, as well. Their relationship is more of a professional one, if anything, having not really worked together aside from the current film, but Virgil's a determined individual and likes making friends. Aside from that, he has a lot of respect for Nicholas, even with his sarcastic attitude.

He has a slight infatuation with Nick's facial hair that he makes known about 100% of the time he sees him. On numerous occasions, he's made funny quips about how he'd like to grow that much facial hair one day.

Ella Lindgren

"She hates me. I wreck her shit. I find it amusing, and apparently so does Amy. Who knew. I pay for it all, by the way. I do, but that doesn't seem to help, heh."

What more is there to say? Virgil has a problem with his feet and she has a problem with how he has a problem with his feet, but only because he has a problem with his feet on top of her equipment. It's not like he doesn't apologize profusely, or that he does it on purpose, or that he doesn't pay for it and then some. It's just something about wrecking someone's property that gets to people and Virgil understands that, even if he can't help but smile whenever she screams at him. Not only that, but his lack of an attention span and forgetfulness often leaves her waiting. Woops? He often catches Amy snickering behind her coffee cup, which doesn't help his situation when he starts cracking up in the middle of her screaming rants. She doesn't like him, but that's not his problem.

Appearance:
A timid, lean individual (5'6";168 lbs) with a surprising musculature for a man of his size and personality, of which is usually hidden. Many people mistake him for someone who's a tad on the pudgy side, though that's far from the case—he's somehow avoided any scenes that would require him to strip down from his obtrusive amount of clothing. He's not a top athlete by any means, but he does his best to stay healthy and fit, and is often driven to do so out of stress—he gets stressed a lot. Often in appropriately layered garments, in respect to the climate, Peter isn't a confident looking individual and it shows in the way he carries and dresses himself. Everything's in layers and hardly any of himself shows minus the appropriate hands and head. And, despite his age, has a full head of completely grey hair that he simply lost all care for, in terms of color. With a face that's mostly frowning, it's hard to tell if he's in a good or bad mood and it's even harder to tell if he hates your guts or not. There's no one who looks more timid, yet unapproachable than Peter; his cold, blue-eyed gaze is usually turned on himself and his feet, whilst he does his damn hardest to blend into the background. Out of everyone in Hollywood, Peter has the most obvious nervous tick, in which he fiercely chews his bottom lip, avoids any eye contact to an infuriating degree, as well as wrings his hands and wrists until they're red and burning.

Personality:
"I'm a man who's been the butt of every joke. Who's been ridiculed and humiliated all his life. I'm a man who has the gall to silently stand by as his wife takes the one thing he loves away from him. I'm a man who's recently understood the meaning of desolation and turmoil and I hate it with every ounce of my being. There's only one thing I'd fight tooth and nail for and that's not myself—that opportunity is long gone. But, just because I've lost the will to live for myself doesn't mean I'll just lie down and die like the world wants me to. It's far from over."

Timid is an understatement.

There's no one quite as soft spoken and quiet as Peter, but what's so great about him is his ability to entirely wash away any notion of his terribly obvious lack of confidence when taking on a role. Peter is a man of various talents (mostly geared toward acting, though some sprinkles of finance and business due to his upbringing), but such a humble personality it's almost shameful; however, he's more often taken advantage of than he is applauded for his prowess. What's more, he's not as amicable as he would seem, in spite of his quiet demeanor and shrunken stature. Many people often consider his brevity sarcastic and cold, and misinterpret what he says in most circumstances. Most of what he does and says is genuine and Peter does his best to stay an honest man, especially when it really doesn't matter if he lies or not. In spite of his status, most people tend to stray away from him in hopes of finding someone who better supplies them with a more interesting story or better looking features. Not many people like taking photos of a hunched over man who looks a lot older than he really is. As well, people who hire him for a movie either knows he'll rake in the cash or wants someone who's malleable enough for them to either take advantage of or to best appreciate their ideas and the direction they wish to take a movie. Not many people look at his resume and think, "Wow, what a great guy!" If you have a reputation of being a pushover, whilst having enough talent and fame to make money off of, then you tend to get a lot of job offers, either good or bad, but mostly bad.

What's so special about Peter, though, is his talent to fully meld into a role and play it exactly the way it should be, or even beyond that. It's almost his escape, in that he is quick to completely throw away the person that he was to become fully absorbed into the world he's been hired to act in. Not that he'd tell a soul the real reason behind why he acts and why he's so exceptional at it. However, Peter doesn't see this as a talent or something to be proud of, especially with the way he goes about doing it. As he sees it, he's doing all of it wrong and can't be as good as he wants to be if he continues making the entire process a whole daydream. More, though, Peter doesn't think highly of himself in general and jumps to the conclusion that issues are his fault. In doing so, he makes it a job of his to clean up after both himself and other people, taking blame, doing whatever he can to correct mistakes that he supposedly made. Not only that, but he blames the end of his marriage on himself, despite the fact that his wife was the one using him and then immediately grew tired in the process. Though, in truth, it was his fault that it failed, as she was content enough to leech money and whatever she could until he was effectively ran dry.

But, if there's one thing that Peter cares deeply for, it's his daughter. And the moment his wife decided to let everything go, but his daughter, he was more than willing to give her every penny he ever made and every possession he ever had, and when bargaining wasn't enough, he brooded and plotted until the court date finally came around. Peter pulled every trick in the book, spent nights studying whatever law he could, just so she couldn't take his little girl away from him. And he won full custody, all because he knew exactly how to completely tire his wife out. She grew impatient, complied to his terms in court and gave full custody over to him, as long as she could see her at least once a week. Being a guy who was used to being thrown under the bus, he knew how she could be feeling and reluctantly gave her the privilege. Just as long as his whole world wasn't taken away from him and she, and the actual world, could see the fire in his eyes when it came to him and his daughter. That was a subject no one touched, no one who knew just how serious he took the situation, that is.

Ultimately, Peter is a smart cookie, with a trigger that could fuel him for years if necessary, and a great talent for acting—no one denies that, even as they're being underhanded and corrupt with him. Broken by self-hate and hate, in general, Peter only has one thing he lives for and it's quite obvious who that is.

History:

Used to the cold Siberian winters of Russia, Peter spent a lot of his life in the country that might as well be its own continent. It was difficult, especially with how downtrodden and stricken by poverty his family was. It wasn't until he was just rounding out at twelve years old, did his parents find a way to get to a place where they could make a life for themselves. Settling down in London, England, his father invested his entire life in something that was bound to fail. However, to the surprise of mostly his family, he struck gold and with it he built up a business venture that would nearly monopolize the niche of industry it made its fortune in. From an apartment that could only comfortably fit a toddler to a manor in the suburbs of the affluent. It became the perfect habitat for a child to be raised, with a safety net and all the time and money in the world. But, Peter was happy with what he had back in Russia, with what he had in the tiny hovel of an apartment they lived in in the middle of London.

Home was a sanctuary, a place where he could bide his time safely doing whatever he wanted and it was usually him plastered in front of a TV, harmlessly watching shows and movies. Peter was unusually quiet for a child and relatively agreeable when asked to do anything, from his parents. There wasn't a complaint that came out of his mouth, not even a huff of frustration and it drove his parents up the walls. They didn't do a thing to harm or hurt him, though, and eventually got used to the odd nature of their child, who wanted nothing more than to be left watching everything and anything he could, from Casablanca to Psycho to Some Came Running and more. It was what he was nerdy about and not a soul didn't know. That was what started the bullying, his general and extreme obsession with filmography and acting, and then people started realizing just how much of a push-over he was. It went on to outright using him to do whatever they wanted. He did homework, helped people cheat on tests, pranked teachers, did a lot of awful things because pretty much anyone who wanted to could threaten to do a whole lot worse to him. The sudden rebellious streak caught his parents off guard, but he said nothing and went about the day just as he always did. It confused his parents into just letting the phase play out because he gave no red flags, no cue that he was being used, bullied, ridiculed, and so they didn't have to worry unless he was actually hurting someone. Not only that, but Peter was an adept at hiding any visible injuries. He can't do what a makeup artist does, but he knows the right amount of foundation for him to be able to cover up a black eye or cut, or whatever he needed. And it wasn't at all odd that he began wearing more layers than was comfortable for a person.

It didn't really get better as he got older because he didn't necessarily have the demeanor to thrive in the outside world. No one was calling him names or beating the living shit out of him, but they were seeing more potential in him and with that, the opportunity to manipulate him to further their own goals. Peter grew up to take over his father's industry, seeing as he was the only child, and thus went into business and financing until he could churn out numbers and come up with ideas himself that would rake in as much of a profit as possible. Of course, he only spent a few years outside of college before he finally realized just how much he hated running a company. It wasn't what he loved; it wasn't at all what he dreamed he'd be doing, just accepted as fact. And it suddenly wasn't hard for his father to tell exactly what was wrong, as if that entire decade of turmoil wasn't loud enough for him. He handed the company back over reluctantly, since his father didn't necessarily have a way to retire without an heir to take over.

Impulsively and with the aid and push from his mother, Peter picked up an acting job in the UK and throttled himself from there. From commercials to a hit TV show. No one quite knew the actual how of his sudden rocket forward, and simply put it up to money and talent. This was his dream and all those years spent in front of the TV wasn't just for simple entertainment; he took joy in studying and analyzing the best of the best. The fans saw him as a godsend they were waiting for and the entertainment industry saw him as a money machine—a goldmine waiting to burst. That's exactly what he did for the suddenly prospering TV Show Mile High, a previously dead end production that attempted a spin off from the hit Airplane parody that aired in 1996 in America and was about to get lost and forgotten in the shuffle of failed projects. But along came Peter to not only revive the project, but to take it to heights even the director didn't think it could go. Hit comedy, of which he promptly won a BAFTA for himself and the show three seasons in a row before he set his eyes on broader horizons, or rather had a few offers that he couldn't necessarily deny. Sadly, the show quickly took a nosedive with his absence and got cancelled after the viewers moved on.

From there, Peter moved from show to show and eventually to the big screen where his fans followed. And with him, money followed. He was used to getting ideas, both good and bad, out in the open. He even gave a production that would have been shut down almost immediately a chance to gather a following and eventually throttle it forward into leading a political party most people abhorred. Further productions like that stained Peter's reputation, though he didn't once complain and interviewers soon found they couldn't quite get the response they wanted out of him. That was the one good thing about his extreme self-consciousness; it was easier to get a whale to walk on land than it was to get even a tiny rise out of him. He took the hits like a bulwark, even if it really crushed him, but he couldn't possibly say no to a job that paid well. Well... that wasn't really the reason: he couldn't say no at all.

Which was why that gal who saw him only for his money and resources walked up to him and told him upfront, didn't hide it one bit, that he was a prize waiting to be taken. And she took him, used him, threw him away when she didn't want him anymore. But, she always came back to do the same thing over again. Peter knew exactly what she was doing, but did nothing about it—didn't even delude himself and call it 'love'. He didn't love her, and how could he? But, she could fabricate anything she wanted, use whatever she wanted and knew she would get away with it. He wouldn't deny a damn thing and would have taken the full blow without batting an eyelash and, thus, have everything he worked so hard for crushed and destroyed. But, that was his fault and he couldn't help that he was made that way. And there was absolutely nothing that he was currently living for. Peter only ever got the parts he truly wanted, was truly invested in, once in a blue moon and the rest were obvious ploys to get a message out to the people, or to further someone's career, get something that no one in their right mind would see onto the blockbuster list, or just to get as much money as possible. Add insult to injury, he won a damn Oscar for a supporting role in a movie that should have been doomed to fail and he didn't get a lick of respect for it, much less the money that he worked damn hard for.

When everything was just about to fall on top of him, and on top of being forced to move out of his comfortable home, something amazing happened. The cliche would be that his wife finally realized the error of her ways and they both fell in love, but not exactly. In the storm of his life, Peter acquired a child—well, technically they both had a child... together, but that's not what mattered. This beautiful little girl was the sign he needed, the life he needed to finally live for and someone who actually needed him for something that wasn't to further their own goals. She needed him for something trivial, but something of such vast importance it trumped and continues to trump anything and everything that was thrown his way, in a paradoxical manner he couldn't even try explaining. Not only this, but he finally got roles he'd been waiting his whole life for, as if it took this long for his luck to realize it was being a complete ass. Better late than never, though, right? And this little girl, Lucelia, adored her father to a near ingratiating degree. They were each other's worlds and that devil of a mother didn't really seemed to care, as long as she continued to live her comfortable, cushioned life. Though, even that was coming to an end.

Peter finally told her no. On top of that, he told her a secret he'd not told a soul, not even his parents knew about. Told her she finally had something real and true on him that he no longer cared for. She lashed out in a way he didn't expect, but he retaliated in a way no one would have predicted. And the whole world was eating from the palm of their hands, it was that good.

Tooth and nail.

Dirty fighting.

Sucker punches.

All proverbial, of course, but every tactic from Sun Tzu to Admiral Ackbar was used and exhausted when the threat of his daughter's well being was in question. Being married for so long, he knew everything about that lady, whilst she knew absolutely nothing about him. Exhausted and unwilling to fight any longer, she gave Lucelia up and promptly walked away without qualm or quarrel. She finally left him alone.

And he absolutely didn't want to run out of his luck. He spent day and night with his little girl, took her on set, did everything with her and eventually found himself helping to direct and produce movies, if only to make it easier on his daughter. With a background like his, he knew the essentials of producing a movie, as well as how to run a company. A movie was just a business venture to be ran and how efficiently it was ran was up to the people who committed themselves to the project. It was a well enough investment that he usually got enough money out of it to support himself even more so than before. As long as he could see to his daughter as much as possible, he was happy with doing just about anything and flexing his brain muscles and all that fun stuff.

-Is a well known actor, but has recently taken a break as to not stretch his luck and is more looking into producing and directing movies, at the moment.
-Has won 4 Oscars, 5 BAFTAs, 2 Emmies, and even a Tony, as well as countless others, while being nominated for numerous other awards in his career.
-Was previously married, but went through a very rough and publicized divorce, though the reasons for it have become a mystery the public has attempted so hard to grasp. It's under a lock and key that Peter isn't willing to hand over without a fight.
-Has a little girl named Lucelia that he simply can't live without.
-Currently spends most of his time in a small house somewhere in North Carolina, but his main residencies are in Upper Manhattan and West Los Angeles.
-Is often likened to a hedgehog
-Loves it when people ask him, "Are you [insert character] from [insert movie/show]?" because it reminds him that people do appreciate what he does, at least some people do. If one person likes him in a movie, then mission accomplished.
-If asked what his favorite role or favorite movie he was in was, then he'll immediately freeze up and stutter endlessly before excusing himself for tea or coffee.
-Doesn't have an accent, though people wonder constantly if it's just him covering up whatever native accent he has. He's not said a word to confirm or deny. Sometimes, he likes to keep things a mystery. Though, he does sometimes slip into either a subtle London accent, or a meek, central Russian accent.
-Adores his fans, Chevy Chasers, to an invariable degree, however numerous or not so numerous they are. Doesn't know where they coined that term and hopes to God no one decides to sue him for it.
-Among movies he's done, the most recognized are Life Beyond Simple Measures, a modern, romantic drama by Woody Allen, in which he played Ronald Greene, It's a Wonderful Life, a modernized homage and rework of the classic, in which he played George Bailey, and The Hamlet Dilemma, a dark dramedy some now consider a classic, in which he played Roman Hamlet Carolls. The most controversial movie he's done was probably a very botched and misguided revival of the book and movie, Animal Farm, in which the names of certain animals were replaced by politicians and the satire was made cruder and more direct with its political views. Not only that, but the two movies weren't very well spread apart in years and it got various lawsuits, in which Peter was thoroughly tied down in. A lot of money and box office sales were lost in the fiasco, but he somehow won an Oscar for Best Supporting Actor, which is currently stuffed in the deep recesses of his basement, along with the movie and anything related to it.

"Perfect?" Peter echoed, lifting his head up to catch the lights overhead. A visible squint in his eyes, he gave a firm shake of his head, still staring past the interviewer. There's a lengthy pause, in which Peter's brows knotted and his tongue darted out to lick the top of his lips before scrapping downward and back in. A cough caught his attention, to which he promptly looked back down with an arch in his brow and a glint playing across his eyes.

"Young."

Perplexed, the interviewer tilted her head forward, narrowing her eyes at Peter. "Just young?" she pressed and Peter simply nodded.

Maximillian Harrison? He got quite a bad rap as a clumsy stunt man. I hear that's not good for a man in his line of work.

It took awhile and a good lot of squinting at the interviewer before realizing who Maximillian was. A light tint of red shaded his cheeks, of which he promptly leaned to the side to grab the attention of the onstage assistant. "Could I get a cup of tea? Hot, unsweetened, please," he covered his mouth as he spoke, as to further hush his voice. Turning back he gave a thin smile and apologized.

"I wouldn't say clumsy," he pondered, head slanting to the side a bit as his eyes focused on the interviewer's hand, "Maybe willingly naive is a better description."

"Oh?" she mouthed, her eyes widening and her lips curving into the smallest smirk.

"About the industry," Peter continued, pausing to catch her look. She nodded for him to go on, gesturing with her hand. After not getting another word for what seemed like a full minute and a half, she almost faded back, paled slightly, and frowned deeply at the quiver in his brow and the immediate pursing of his lips—the bottom of which was suddenly being chewed on ferociously.

"Ah. Let's move on, then. Is there any chance of you starring...?"

What of Harris Klein? I'm sure as a man looking to broaden his horizons in the film industry, you must pull some inspiration from a man who obviously knew his stuff.

With head tilted forward, taking a quick sip of the hot tea given to him moments ago, Peter gave a curt shrug in response. "Lost, I guess," he mumbled, eyes darting to the side as he carefully set the cup down, "A fish swimming upstream; I know the feeling."

"Care to elaborate?" the interviewer asked, hiding the anticipated look that graced her features.

"Not really," Peter commented, hands once again reaching for the cup to hide his face behind and muffle his words, "I'd be using different, more complex words and syntax, but I'd be more or less repeating myself. I said it simply enough—that should suffice."

With the cup still hovering over his face, Peter rose an eyebrow at her question. His leg rose to drape over the other, foot tapping in the air rapidly. In spite of the relaxed position, Peter always had a knack for looking completely uncomfortable, to a degree that it made people ache and pity him. It seemed the raise brow was questioning just what the lady was trying to garner from the query, but he made no move to ask and instead made a wild guess. Maybe he was supposed to act outraged, but the feeling that sunk into his stomach and threatened to postpone the interviewer further.

If only.

"I, uh," he stuttered, taking a quick sip of his tea, "think she'd be better suited to comedies and TV shows?"

"Really? Don't think she's talented enough for the big screen?"

"No," Peter gulped, "I mean, she is and she's proven that, but her skills and ethics are more suited to maybe things that don't require such strict methods of production. Her talent would be better highlighted in an environment where it's more reliable. Show quality has risen up to the standard of Hollywood blockbusters, but still don't require the need to... actively read the script and analyze it very well beforehand."

Oh, son of a movie legend; I'm sure you've heard of Nicholas Lyons. His father was pretty high up there, but his son is just a shadow of what his father was, don't you think? Subpar acting riding high on the fame and fortune of a dead man.

That was harsh. That was kind of beyond harsh and he couldn't disagree more if he wanted to.

His eyes traveled downward, noticing the pen in her hand hanging just above the paper. Apparently, she was anticipating some kind of high-horse, highfalutin, 'I'm better than you,' talk, as if she had somehow been told that Peter's quiet, unsociable demeanor was because he was just a pompous asshat who thought he was better than everyone. Well, she'd soon find out that that was not the case; in fact, Peter thought quite the opposite. However, she didn't take it that way as he began to move in his seat, setting his tea down.

The assistant immediately came forward, hair sweeping in a wide arc as she grasped his cup and walked away. He didn't have the time to comment on how well she kept her hair as he began to insist she not and that it was perfectly fine. Guess she thought he needed it more than he thought he did. Maybe he just looked perpetually stressed.

"Uh," Peter uttered, slumping back into the seat he was in. He looked at her again, noticing her raised eyebrows and sudden, repeated clicking of her pen.

Shaking his head to clear his thoughts, he recalled the question and answered, "Well, I can't really say."

"Is that so?" she cooed and smiled, writing something down.

"No, not really," Peter said, frowning at her actions, "He's a far better actor than I am and so was his father."

The interviewer immediately stopped writing, frowned very deeply, and scratched out her notes.

Virgil Siegfried Holst, big name in the business. I bet it's just so tiring for him to run around as much as he does. I bet he'd love to settle down, relax, find someone amicable and useful enough in Hollywood.

That one kind of hit home.

No, that one was pretty good.

There was absolutely nothing going through his mind. All he could muster up was a lousy gulp, to which the interviewer simply smiled a small, toothy grin. She didn't say anything and her silence crawled through him like the reddish tint that choked his neck and face. What didn't help was that his divorce was just rather recent, just over two years, meaning the events that unfolded and what he went through was still fresh in his mind. This lady, whoever she was, could certainly tell from the way he fidgeted in his seat. Pins and needles washed through him. This wasn't harmless goading; this was malicious harassment and he couldn't say a thing about it. Especially not from the way she worded her questions.

Opening his mouth to speak, it was as if his brain immediately decided to shut down and focus on processing the information that somehow still assaulted him. Holding a finger up, Peter immediately brought it down to the corner of his lips, eyes trying to find something other than the interviewer to focus on. They found the assistant not too far behind the lady, focusing on what she was currently doing: writing in a small journal, her eyes fleetingly observing what was currently going on. He didn't quite get the courage he needed, but he did find enough time to fully absorb the information and respond in kind.

"I'm not sure what you're insinuating," he mumbled, still finding the time to chew on his lip, "I have a daughter to take care of, which doesn't leave much time for anything else."

"Nothing to deny?"

"Why would there be?" he responded as his brows came together, "This is a professional interview, right?"

The lady hummed, still smiling as she brought a finger to her lips and crossed her legs.

In contrast to your fame and stardom, what's your take on the sudden rise and popularity of Youtube stars, who create and manage their own small productions? In particular, what're your thoughts on working with Jake Wilson?

"You say that is if I don't need constant reminding of my 'fame'," Peter quietly uttered, still hiding behind the cup of tea clenched tightly in his hands. The interviewer forced a laugh, tilting her head back for added affect—it made him cringe slightly. He understood that not many people enjoyed interviewing him.

"He's an every-man living out his dream," Peter finally answered, almost shrugging as his eyes drifted toward his shoes.

"You're saying he's average?" she twisted his words, smiling as she did so, "Don't think highly of podcasters and independent stars?"

"I said it as a term of endearment," Peter stuttered as the cup was set down and it seemed he fancied wringing his hands more than the fragile glass, "I understand why people like him; I don't understand why people like me."

Since you'll be working with more than just the director and the actors, you must know some of the less flashy stars, right? Like the up and comer, Phoebe J. Collins who's made herself known in the industry, but not the public.

"She gets the job done," Peter remarked, quietly rubbing the cup in his hands as his eyes glazed over. After a few moments, he coughed and apologized, flashing a quick smile as he continued, "Memorable."

A thinly veiled puff emitted from the woman's lips, obligated to attempt to press the man further, "Memorable, how?"

Noticing the tired look and the frustration knitting her brows, Peter simply nodded and answered in kind, "I was just being nostalgic. Nothing of importance; I apologize."

You've heard of Leo PNB Xavier, right? I imagine so, seeing as you've lived in London most of your life. And especially since his sister is such a rising star in the industry. Any thoughts on his sort of fading into film production and becoming a simple costume designer?

Looked like the interviewer threw all caution to the wind; she wasn't hiding her blatant want to get a rise out of him, something to slam onto the covers. And Peter, as he quickly retrieved his cup of tea, began to avoid any contact with her, preferring the nice lilacs that acted as a divider between them. What came as a disappointment was the sudden nothingness that hit his lips as he tilted the cup upward. Empty, just like any shred of confidence that swam in that mind of his. And just how many cups had he had?

Giving up on hiding his face, Peter grasped onto his wrists, vice grip already reddening the pale surface. "People have their dreams and passions," he began, still fervently staring at the lilacs on the coffee table, "There's nothing simple about it."

"Then what would you call it?"

"Certainly not fading away," he uttered quietly, "more like finding yourself—public approval notwithstanding."

A break in the onslaught of instigation that the interviewer was no longer attempting to hide. Peter let out a sigh he figured she couldn't hear and leaned further into the cushion. The interview had him so on edge, he forgot just how to relax—not that that wasn't a thing Peter usually remembered to do. The irony immediately planted a small smile, no longer thin and pursed, onto his features.

"Works hard just to work hard," Peter commented, "but knows more than a lot of people claim to know."

Lifting the tea cup, he did his best to keep the smile on his face as he added, "Loves coffee as much as I love tea." The assistant promptly retrieved the cup before he could object, his whole body almost leaning forward as he stumbled on his apology.

"Not sure," Peter shrugged, tapping the edge of the cup as he began to take in his surroundings.

Musing, he crossed his legs and looked up to signal she wait for him to finish a thought. She simply sighed.

"I avoid her, mostly," he slid the cup down as he shrugged lightly, "I guess she does good work."

What about Max Goldstein? A man who's just starting out in producing has no doubt heard of this Max. Any competition or butting of heads you see in your future? Not everyone's going to like your ideas and if that someone's Max, then you're production has a big roadblock ahead of it.

"Nope," he said plainly, not catching the wording she attempted to use this time.

"Not at all?" she gave him a blank stare, doing her best to contain her agitation.

"We have our differences," Peter started, though didn't make any hints that he'd continue.

Sighing, the interviewer simply rubbed her temples and pinched the bridge of her nose before moving onto the next question.

Leila Fox is new to the scene, any thoughts on her?

"She was very excited to meet me," Peter said, smiling brightly. However, that bright smile quickly stretched into a frown as the memory fully registered.

"Um," he looked over to the side a bit, his hand reaching back to scratch his neck while he continued, "After two minutes, she looked a bit... disappointed."

A sigh escaped his lips, his eyes following the patterns he was making with his shoes. The feeling that was attached to his name really wasn't quite foreign, so her bouncy attitude that quickly melted into a reserved, almost regretful demeanor wasn't at all a surprise. The interviewer, however, was too busy looking at her nails to catch the sullen look etched into his sunken expression. Peter almost nodded at her, but quickly caught himself.

"I tend to do that to people," he noted.

"Really?" she said, not even looking up from her hand.

As for my final question in regards to you coworkers, colleagues, whatever: what's a pretty lady like Addison Matthews doing being an assistant producer? She's quite young, a doll, something that I'm sure could be cause for concern, am I right?

Of course, an interviewer can't outright say something like, 'Are you going to take advantage of your position as a Producer and movie star to get in bed with someone aspiring to do the things you do, in hopes that she would form connections that would rocket her career forward,' but it was blatantly obvious that that was what she was trying to get across. Peter's lips parted, teeth clenched and his face contorted slightly. A finger shot up to lodge itself between his lips as he forced himself not to chew his lower lip raw. The interviewer took this as a moment to press the situation further, but it honestly looked like she gave up on holding out for something scandalous to gossip about. Her eyes focused completely on him, but he could tell by the slouched over shoulders and lazed tilt in her head meant she'd rather this be over.

"She's... not my type?" Peter squeaked out, lurching his head forward as he spoke, "I don't know what your asking."

In a disbelieving tone, Peter scratched his head and asked, "Are you sure you know who I am?"

"It's why I didn't want to do this in the first place," she groaned, standing from her seat as she immediately left the set.

Looking down at his cup of tea, Peter sighed as the comment sunk in. The assistant who patiently stood above him caught his attention and he realized why the lady was still standing there. Downing his beverage in a rush, he handed her the cup and stood, thanked her and promptly wandered around lost. The interviewer barreled the last few questions as if she was running a damn marathon, which left him with over twenty minutes left of simply waiting for the nanny to call.

Maybe he'd go for some ice cream, rub it in his daughter's face, and then promptly get her the largest serving they had at the local ice cream parlor across the street and watch her get her yellow sundress all splattered with every flavor they had.
