Wait no longer! Just a few "I"s to dot and "T"s to cross so I can totally devote Prussia to peaceful stuff this turn.
The following telegram was given to the Austrian ambassador. A copy was also published in a prominent Berlin newspaper.
"In light of the treaty of Constantinople, Minister President von Bismarck requires of the Austrian ambassador a formal opinion, in writing with an official seal, as to three questions to clarify Austria's diplomatic position.
1. Should Prussia or other German state find itself in a war with a European state who is an ally of France or France, where the aggressor is France or cannot be determined due to a near simultaneous commencement of hostilities, will Austria comply with its obligations under section C of the treaty of Paris and relevant decisions by the Federal Diet and cooperate in the defense of the federal fortresses of the German Confederation?
2. Will Austria allow French movement through its lands or French ships to dock in its ports under any circumstances? If so, under what circumstances?
3. If the merchant fleet of Prussia or another German State should come under attack on the high seas by France or French privateers, will Austria use its fleet to engage the French? If not, under what circumstances would Austria send naval aid?"
