Okay, so I've been looking over the whole crop issue, and it does seem I made a huge error. I thought that peasants were given 1 food a year, not per season. However, looking back and doing the numbers, if I have to give my peasants 4 food per annum, and they only produce 4.6 per annum (and that's only factoring in the farmers - the others are eating just as much for nothing), that means the most I will ever make surplus is 0.6 food a year?Or is it that peasants produce 4.6 crops deducting their own personal share?

0.6 surplus per peasant, yes.
I will play a minor power.
War of the league of Cambrai and the Napoleonic wars come to mind immediately.

Um, no. Sorry, but I'm vetoing this one.Austria was just in a war with Prussia. Notice how they always found conscription easy? That's because the public supported war with Prussia. Immediately ending that war then declaring war on your former allies is not ok. You can have the treaty, but no removing kebab just yet.

Side switching of this kind is extremely precedented. In the RP, Greece, who should never have been allowed to if Austria isn't. IRL Prussia lost a few hundred thousand fighting Russia on the side of Napoleon and then switched sides once that invasion failed. Before that, Austria switched as well after getting their clock cleaned.
FLOOBEH! WEAR MAI VASALES @?!?!!!''1!!
