Which can be jammed and hindered by too much external noise or similar methods that make confusing signals. Many animals that use echolocation can be disoriented and even harmed by loud abrupt sounds. It's how some Japanese fisherman catch dolphins *illegally I might add*, it's pretty brutal.

The scenario I expect to be more common is a scorched earth policy.

"Haha, you can't see me!"
*aerosol with lighter, burns entire area around him*
"EEEEE!"

Everyone proceeds to eat Fried Capello.

EDIT: That actually sounds like something you could eat, please don't eat me.

Alternatively, he could turn into a bat, swoop on your face and dive bomb you as a bull.

Turning into something that relies on sound and he controls sound.

Yes. Do that. It will be glorious.

Invader Len: .....you need help.

Well, I am just imaging that if he fights, he would turn into a dog to smell, and then just get distracted by the cinnamon and just try to start to eat them.

That would probably be the only way Capello would win, so yup!

@Spawnling: You don't have to, since he's your character obviously. I just think that it's be funny and cute to see people extremely confused. Including Gin. Nuu, not the stick!

Oh I won't do it all the time, it's more if I think someone is going to get physical with Capello. Alternatively, you guys can always ask me before hand if he's real or not as you write the post. That way you don't need to end with a "He did a slap." and wait to see if it actually hit before reacting.

See, now my problem is I can see Capello having REALLY REALLY interesting dynamics with literally every character I've seen so far. I foresee so much fun with everyone, especially if he manages to get romantic with someone.

STOP BEING INTERESTING EVERYONE, THE DECISION MAKING PROCESS IS TOO HARD.

@Spawnling Hey... If Capello starts doing karaoke without the music, does that mean he's singing... Acapello?

Poor Gin! Two Capellos for the Little Flower to wrap her head around.

If it helps, I will generally TRY to make it obvious for YOU the players whether or not you're dealing with the REAL Capello, if only to avoid moments where you're unsure if your slap/hug/nudge/bump/grab/kiss actually makes contact or if you fall onto the floor. I trust you guys won't use that as in game knowledge that your character wouldn't know, so it shouldn't be a problem. Though sometimes I'll keep it up in the air just to screw with ya.

General rule of thumb: If he's touching you, he's probably real. Probably. But maybe not. Could just be poking you with a stick from afar.

Also, his illusions effect other senses like touch and smell?

Smell, no. Hence why he

I think he could probably make someone THINK they're feeling something subtle, if they expect a sensation, they'll get a sensation, but trying to grab his illusions would reveal them easily enough. They can't harm you, but they'll play off your reactions and instincts *something moving rapidly at you just as you turn, you're going to react to it as if it's a real threat, despite what it may actually be* If you're grabbing him, and he suddenly ignites on fire or has metal spikes shoot out over his body, it would take a lot of mental discipline to ignore it and not reflexively let go of him to prevent injury, giving him a chance to escape and set up more illusions.

In short, he could make you think you felt him brush by, think you felt his breath on you, but it's mind games. The only senses he affects are vision and hearing.

Combat wise, generally speaking, he's always hitting your back or exposed areas while you're focused on whatever illusions he's using against you. Hence why if anyone can see through the illusions or break them, he's screwed.

Does that clarify?
Christ on a stick, writing for Capello is confusing.

"Capello A does this, while Capello B does this, but Capello C, who is over there, was doing this, and then A did-"

Also fine tuning his personality. And of course, getting all those sweet nicknames out to all you lovelies.
Alexandria would find her wrist taken gently in one hand, which would then guide it over to the frames of her glasses as the real Capello stepped out of hiding, seeming to have simply walked out of the wall nearby, making sure to avoid looking near the Gorgon's eyes.

"Right here Adonia. Take your time. Still getting used to the legs I see."

Again, another nickname. It was a wonder Capello even remembered names, given that he never used them. Adonia, a greek name meaning Beautiful Lady. Again, the liar had tailored his choice to the fact that Alexandria was a gorgon, and probably Greek. While he would have preferred to remain hidden from the other tenants and humans, this situation was one that could easily turn sour if not taken care of quickly. While not permanent, being petrified certainly caused problems, even for Youkai. And despite his antics and his distaste for being out in the open with all eyes upon him, Capello knew better than to put the tenants in such a position. Besides, he hadn't been assigned one of them to watch over yet. So potentially, messing up now could put his future charge in a pinch. Ignoring the ramifications of such a first impression, Capello wasn't one to let others be bothered due to inaction on his part. The Fox grinned at his own illusion, which waved back, still teasing Kimiko as it quickly got out of Alexis' path. The fox grinned as he held out his arm to help Alexandria stand up, still careful to keep his eyes away from hers until the all clear was given.

"Such an energetic morning, don't you think? Everyone's out and about! Even our new Little Flower over there."

Gesturing at Gin, one of the newer tenants who seemed to have an affection for flora. He could fine tune the nickname later as he got to know her better. The fox tilted his head and gave a warm smile, trying desperately to smother the urge to simply poof out of sight and continue his socializing via his illusory self. Despite his warm attitude and general friendliness, his nature was one of deception and lies, and that generally made enemies in life. Being out in the open like this always made him nervous. Still, the tenants could be trusted to not stab him in the throat when he wasn't looking.

Probably anyway. He had spent most of the week spying and watching the new comers with great interest. Curiosity over who would be his Master or Mistress, wondering if any of them seemed sensitive or delicate, and fine tuning his own persona to make sure he wouldn't scare them off immediately. Maintaining his lies took effort, time, and research. Else someone could see through them before he was prepared.

"Shall we join them Adonia? Don't worry, you can lean on me till you get used to the legs. I won't vanish till you tell me to."

The liar grinned warmly.

Yeah, I'm gone for a couple of hours and suddenly people are drowning everywhere(apparently). Most confused supervillain ever. Like, do I even need to try, or will everybody destroy themselves first XD

If everyone starts drowning each other, Capello is joining your team.

Haha. XD Someone with great patience or equally just as mischievous would have to be your partner. Or not. A character who gets easily riled up would be fun too.

Whoever gets me is in for a treat, that's all I can say. Capello has quite a few layers to him.
