That moment when an entire story arc/ plot for your rp comes to you while you're showering.

Two hours of sleep, starting an rp as a gm, and about a weeks worth of college homework to do, and I probably gave myself food poisoning. Oh baby this'll be a fun, fun day.

Interested. Does it include Lycans?

Of course, Lycans are in there.

Anyway, thanks for showing interest everyone! I'll get an OOC up sometime this afternoon and explain a few things in a little more detail.
A brief description:

Our world is plagued by creatures which resemble a twisted form of man. They are seen as monsters, beasts, abominations which only serve the dark purpose of terrorizing humanity. The Order of Night Hunters insured that these nightmarish fiends would not become a widespread issue, but as the years continued to go by, the number of activate hunters began to decrease. The first werewolves originated in ancient Scandinavia, as did the first werewolf hunters. There are places across the Earth where ancient groups gathered and performed ritualistic acts. These rituals could have been holy or dark in nature, the results were ultimately similar. The energy in these places became so strong that they were able to tear open rifts to another realm. It was the Hunters duty to keep an eye on this rifts or locate new ones. Occasionally hunters would venture through to the other side, but it was rare that any would return. What was certain about this otherworldly place was that it was no place for common man.

The year is 2015. The number of active hunters has been on a rapid decline over the long grueling years. The different regional groups have become far and few. Many have even gone dark, failing to respond to the yearly summons. It is rumored that even the darkness had twisted their once purest intentions. Desperate times calls for desperate measures, and one hunter has devised a rather radical idea to continue his work. He has one question for those he recruits however.

"Do you consider yourself man or beast?"

So to sum it up, humans, werewolves, and vampires are going to be working together to hunt other werewolves, vampires, and other night creatures. Think of it as a way for them to stay out of trouble, or trying to cling on to their humanity. Whatever the reasons they have, they're hunters now. They were twisted by darkness and became nature's ultimate hunters, but who will they choose to be their prey?

More of course will be explained in an OOC, but who here is interested or has questions?
@Tulpa I feel exactly the same way sometimes, and thus I vanish for extended periods of time. Perhaps i'm just picky, but i'm not a super big fandom person. I generally prefer things that don't have any direct ties to a certain series or existing setting. To be honest, I feel like that right now. Nothing that really interest me at the moment. Nothing i've seen anyway...

But when I still have an urge to write I usually put it off. If it festers for too long, I find myself going to Word or Google Docs to jot down small tidbits or ideas. Usually helps, but I don't feel much comes from it.
Once. In this one RP I sorta got roped into smut stuff. I sorta half assed it on my part, but I can see why some people do it. I don't see explaining how the one part diddled the other part is important to the plot though. I think a simple fade to black really does the trick better. Less awkward for those around you, streamlined and fluid with the writing, and sometimes can come off rather comical if you do it that way.

However I do believe there is place for sex and sensual behaviors in character/ romance development. Passion can be a very strong reason for character motives during a story.

Of course though if fiddling with diddles and doo-das is really your fancy you should still be technically able to live that out in PMs.
Before I begin with the short spur that i'm going to throw out in a moment, I just want to make it clear that this is not intended to disgrace fandom RPs or those set in existing works, after all roleplay takes many forms and being able to play around in a setting you enjoy is perfectly fine and acceptable. This post is intended for both idea sharing and topic discussion.

I just want to point out that the number of fandom RPs certainly outweighs the original ones. Personally, I find creating universes and settings to be enjoyable and invigorating. To think of a whole new world, times and places, fantasies and everything in between. To fill it with people and histories, to provide a new and fresh sandbox for stories to be told in. It just feels like a whole new world to explore, and my mind can run wild thinking about how to put it together, piece by piece. I'm sure i'm not the only one who feels that way. If you ever catch yourself daydreaming about stuff like that, nurture the thought and let it blossom, 'cause you might have something interesting there.

The world and what fills it serves as a foundation. From there you can build upon it with the story you want to tell. I know this was more about setting than characters or story, but a solid foundation is a good footing for the two topics. Feel free to discuss character creating or story making tips/concepts as well.

All of you are here for your different reasons, but i'm sure you share several of those reasons. You like to write, you're imaginative, creative. You all want to have a story somewhere that was scribbled down alongside many others. One that you were able to share and build with a group. I'm sure many of you out there have fantasies and worlds you'd want to live out, so lets start the fire and apply some fresh paint to this canvas!

Oh hey, well if people are still alive around here so am I. I was starting to figure that this might be done for.
Seeing that back up had arrived, Harris had decided it would be best to simply stay down. He nodded to Killshot once he reached the car, and looked slightly disturbed by the giant reptile that came up beside him. The fighting went rather swiftly and intensely around him, so he kept his mouth shut so he wouldn't distract his "rescuers" from killing off the rest of these thugs. He slid his sleeve back, and began typing hastily away on a wrist mounted device while the others wrapped up the battle.

Winston ducked back into cover to reload his pistol and watched as the squad went about fulfilling their duties. The sight made him feel rather satisfied about choosing the right people. Of course, the whole job could be considered overkill, but it was being handled efficiently. Further down the street, the last red coated thug decided that this job wasn't worth doing and crawled slowly along the car until he was behind another building. Once out of the squad's clear line of sight, the man would break out into a dash and attempt to leave the 'warzone' behind him. Winston approached the VIP and the others by the van.

Harris was still busily typing away on his wrist-device, only looking up when he heard someone new approach him. "Mr. Valos," the VIP said as he picked himself up off the wet ground. "I see the planetary defense force decided to make their rounds this evening!" Harris smirked, glancing at the different members of the squad whom he could see. "As much as I wish I could get us to a decent bar for strippers and beer, i'm afraid i'm on a rather tight schedule, and.. well, we could probably do with someplace better than this world huh." Harris seemed rather cheery despite the recent attempt on his life.

"I believe credits will work just fine for us Harris." Winston replied, crossing his arms. "Though if you could manage to slip in some good drinks for my crew here i'm sure the would appreciate that too." Harris gave a pleasant nod to Winston. Suddenly the VIP's wrist device let out a beep, and Harris glanced down at the screen. "While you all were puttin' on a show, I managed to hack into one of their holopads in hopes of finding a little bit of information on my attempted murderers. This seemed a little too well thought out to just be a bunch of street thugs.." Harris said, glancing up for a moment and noticing the door to an abandoned looking building near by. He beckoned the others to follow him inside. "This'll probably be easier to read when i'm not getting drenched out here.."

Harris pushed the door open, his device lightly illuminating the space around him. Visibility was poor except near the windows, where street lights barely shown into the building. From the looks of it, this structure may have once been a diner. There were a small flight of stairs which lead up to the second story of the building, where the roof was broken in some areas, and allowing water to pour in. Harris sat down at one of the tables on the first floor away from the windows and wiped the water off of the device's screen. "Just give me a moment, this data a little bit encrypted, but nothing Uncle Harris can't fix.." The VIP said, who began working away at his device again.

"Perhaps sending them out on a task so early wasn't the best decision." Winston thought to himself as their questions started coming in. Hearing Sulla's request for the data on the operation, Winston removed his PDA from his pocket and cycled through tabs of information until he got to the contract. The job information didn't contain too much detail. It was a simple 'escort Person X to place Y,' and Winston didn't expect it to take such an unfortunate turn so fast. With the data however was a local map of area, and the route the target had planned to take. Winston uploaded the information, making it accessible to anyone near him who had the tech to view it. Winston followed the others outside. "The goal here is to make sure a man by the name of Harrison Graton reaches his destination alive, and right now that man is being assaulted by who knows what. We ain't got a ride, so we're gonna have to haul ass. It shouldn't be far." He explained, starting to break out into a sprint down the wet, rainy street. "Come on!"

As the squad came closer to their destination, the sound of automatic weapons fire could easily be heard through the heavy rain. Winston drew his pistol from it's holster in preparation of a shootout. He wasn't dressed for fighting, and neither was he geared up for one either, but this was to be more of a test for his squad than him. Winston brought the group to a stop at the street corner alongside a large worn down metal shack. Now, the fighting sounded very close. Winston carefully leaned to peak around the corner to get a view of the situation. The street appeared to be well lit, and a man in a gray coat holding a handgun appeared to be pinned down behind a van. Further up the street appeared to be several hooded riflemen with red coats and masks. There were two near the target hiding behind a dumpster which looked as if it were pushed out from a near by alley way, one on the rooftop across the street with very little cover protecting him. Lastly, there were three more hostiles behind small cars at the end of the street, farthest from the suppressed man.

Winston took cover once again, and noticed directly across from the group's position was an alley way. Winston thought for a moment, the sound of rifle fire still going off, and glanced back at the group behind him. "It looks like six guys in red coats are trying to kill our buddy in the gray coat. Two behind a dumpster, three behind some cars which appear to be the furthest away, and one guy on a rooftop to the right side of the roof." He switched the fire mode on his pistol from semi-auto to full-auto in preparation for the next part of his plan. "Now I reckon that the alley dead ahead of us may lead around and behind the dumpster brothers, so three of you are going to run across the street and get ready to flank the two from there. The rest of you are going to fight your way up the street and secure the asset. Get him out of the line of fire and clear out the rest of the hostiles. Now there could be more enemies so be careful when you make your advance, but I don't think they were expecting us to show up." He explained, getting ready to lean around the corner again.

"On my mark, move to your positions in the areas where you'll be the most useful in." The man stated one last time as he got ready to start his plan. "Get ready. Set. Move!" Winston shouted as he poked around the corner with his pistol, spraying a volley of bullets at the hostile on the roof top, buying the time necessary for the others to take their positions.

Sorry for the absence for most of the day. Tuesdays have an odd schedule for me. I'll get to progressing the plot though, so a post'll be comin' up soon.
Its fine. Neat change though. He looks rather... patriotic now.
