Cool beans, I'll hold off
Okay, so you want us to head towards a meeting. I have an idea for demon hot spot, but I don't think it'd end up bringing us towards the group. Neph, lugu if you guys want to pm to collab on this and see if it works, let me know. If no reply about a pm is made, I'll post tomorrow.
Eric watched the Angel shift into two human bodies, causing the obscene glow to cease, and only a faint aura was visible. Eric wasn't the most gifted as seeing through disguises. He reached up and pulled his sunglasses off, and put them back in a case, and then his pocket. By now he was across the street and within several yards of the angels. He took his cigarette and flicked it into the cinder pile, while rubbing his hands together.

Eric looked at the two angels. He really wasn't entirely sure why he was here. He shrugged and spoke. "I dunno. I do these patrols sometimes, self appointed really, by myself, looking for demons and such, I suppose. I don't usually find many but I have been seeing more recently." Eric paused to scratch the back of his head. "Do, uh, you guys watch movies? There's this cliche in some where someone meets someone in a fight, and they show they're trustworthy by helping them fight. Its usually overdone. The protagonist fights off something, and usually misses one, and then the other person gets the one they miss. Its really tacky, but I guess I don't have that option since you're so thorough." Eric paused to gesture at the piles of demonic remains.

Eric looked at the two angels. He was kind of rambling. It was a way to try and dispel the idea he was a threat, and also an attempt for him to try and find something to do tonight. "So, you two, or is it one? I don't have much experience with angels. Anyways, do you need help? I'm Eric, by the way. Sensitive, pretty obvious that is, though. I know my way around some demons, so I'm not useless or helpless." Eric's eyes took on a little passion as he finished. "Or, do you know where the demons have been coming from?"
I got really sick at work yesterday, but I'm not going in today, so I'll post today
Posting tonight
I'll address it in my next post
Eric was driving through the city on one of his self appointed "patrols". It was something he did to relieve the lack of sleep he was not able to get during the night. His ability to "see" the supernatural made his life easier, as he drove his station wagon down a dark street. Some song was playing softly, a ballad about two distant lovers and the power of the radio in uniting them. He looked to his left, and saw bright lights flashing from the other side of an alley. Deciding this was enough to break the boredom, and give him something to do, he slowed down, and parked his car on the side of the street.

Eric reached into his glovebox, and pulled out a pistol. Generally useless against supernatural enemies, but it made him feel a little more comfortable, and was always useful against actual flesh and blood things. He checked the magazine, and put the pistol in an under arm holster. Eric then stepped out of the car, and grabbed a thick coat, putting it on over the weapon, hiding it from view. Eric then checked his chest pockets. Bible, Cross, Blessed water, Cigarettes, Sunglasses. He took out the pack of cigarettes, packed it against his hand, and started smoking one. He put his hands in his pockets, and started walking through the Alley way he had seen the flashes through, as he cut between blocks.

Eric arrived in time to see Union's angelic descent into the demons, as it vanquished them all, in a matter of seconds. Eric reached up, pulled the cigarette from his lips, flicking the ash off of it, and placing it back in his mouth. He squinted as he stared at Union, in all it's angelic splendor, glowing like a sun. Fuckin' Angels, man. He reached into his pocket and pulled out the sunglasses, and put them on. It was bright as day to Eric. He knew to proceed with caution, and he had limited ability in handling angels but he started walking toward Union anyways, sunglasses on, half smoked cigarette in his mouth, and hands in pockets.
Good, or na
Cranking my character out.

Sorry, forgot to reply neph, working late schedule this week. Anyways, I'll churn out my character this weekend. And to finally answer your question, no, don't really have any ideas. Never was able to get into Supernatural or the other things you reference. However, I did enjoy a show called reaper that had escaped souls, which you could consider? Some characters might not want to be angels or demons, but could be escaped souls (possibly even from heaven) so they'd be more of a middle ground from the demon/angel to human spectrum, without having as much powers.

Elaborating on the escaped soul idea from Reaper, if they were an arson in life, they would have fire powers. A serial killer who used chainsaws could turn his hand into a chainsaw. Kinda goofy, might be out of your setting, but worth considering I suppose.
