The purpose of this roleplay will be to allow you and all other members to develop characters, species, settings and civilizations in a way that allows for competition and feedback.

You will start out controlling 3 solar systems. Feel free to cram as many nations and species as you want to said space, or to share it with other players. The actual story will be crafted from the perspective of narrators. (First person recommended, not obligatory.) You can create as many as you want, and you can also narrate from the perspective of random NPCs if that’s your preferred style. No third person omniscience.

Narrators require that you fill out a character sheet and are offered greater protections. NPCs can be created on the spot but can be killed by other players without your permission. Narrators can only be killed with your permission or if you cannot come up with a feasible way for them to survive.

There will be an overarching plot, but it is secondary to world building and I will only implement it when things get a bit slow or when someone does something exceptional that warrants a reaction.

Public, interstellar transportation will be offered by yours truly if your nation agrees to a peace treaty with the Galactic Federation of Nations. If not then you must develop your own system and deal with Maritime Laws. (Space pirates anyone?)

There will be a system by which nations or private individuals can create missions for other players. Simply make a separate post in the IC with the details and wait for characters to sign up. Missions may be either legal, criminal or a bit of both.

It will be recommended that you post frequently when you are interacting with other characters directly. If you hold up an interaction for an unreasonable amount of time (determined on a case-by-case basis) I reserve the right to abort the interaction and allow the other participants to move their characters elsewhere. When you are interacting on an international scale, post as frequently or infrequently as you like.

As solar systems are created, I'll place them on a map which will go at the top of this post. Once there's enough, people can request where they're placed. Until then it's better if they're grouped closer together to minimize travel time.

Rules of Conduct:
-No harassing other players in the OOC. You can give suggestions, but you don’t get to dis them.
-No insta-killing narrators unless you get permission first. Only I can insta-kill, and even then I try to be polite about it.
-No meta gaming. If your character has knowledge outside the scope of their experience, that’s cheating.
-No sex scenes.
-It probably won’t happen, but I reserve the right to censor violence or gore if you start getting stupid about it. Basically, no yanking intestines out or squirting blood like you’re in a tarantino movie. (And no sucking on feet either.)

Due to a particular person I used to RP with, I have developed something called the Malice Rule.
It’s a two-parter.

1- New players are limited to three solar systems (or other such support structures) initially and must earn future systems by developing their nation.
2- Players may not become purely antagonistic. You can have a few evil characters or an immoral system of law, but you are not a supervillain. There will be no supervillains.

You may eventually develop your nation into a state of supervillainy, but there are in-game consequences. Consider it playing the game in pro-mode, because one of the more powerful narrators considers such behavior rude.

If you would like more planets or systems, send me a description of them and an explanation of what your nation had to do to get them.

Open Species:

Species that you can use to create nations with or whose genetics you can splice into grexes or other such genetic amalgamations.

-Humans

If you would like to add a species to this list, simply list them as decoded in the species submission sheet.

Note: Nations may contain multiple species, multiple nations can occupy a single system, and narrators can be anyone, joe the pizza man or Jean the dictator. You may create as many narrators as you like, as many nations and as many species as you like, but you must start with only three systems. You may share systems with other players or you may choose to keep them to yourself. It’s up to you.
Ok. I got two more people joining sometime this week so it's a go. I'll get working on the OOC.
Ok cool.

Other:

No magic. Humans are acknowledged as existent, and you may create nations with them. If your species is humanoid looking, I recommend making them either a product of divergent evolution or genetic modification.

Anyone interested?
Because their posts in advanced roleplays were too metal and they'd be kicked out of a casual role play if the GM knew who they were.

I'm not sure if creating my own will work here. The sites I normally use require a month or so of membership in other writing groups before people will join anything you start. But, I suppose giving it a try wouldn't hurt anything. Sorry if the gif is annoying. It took me two hours to draw so it's kinda my go-to profile pic right now. I'll change it later.

I'm new to this website, but not to roleplays. I need to test drive a few concept nations/characters before I decide if I want to incorporate them in one of my stories. I write very psychological character-driven science fiction that plays out in-universe on an international scale. I'm looking for a nation-level, sci-fi RP that allows aliens and acknowledges humans as an existent species. This is because one of my species is the result of genetic engineering and divergent evolution and falls neatly into the uncanny valley between human and alien.

The others are entirely alien.

I'm also a working college student so I probably won't post every day. Three or four times a week, mostly on the weekends is pretty typical for me.

Does anyone have any suggestions for suitable nation-roleplays?
