Bilge Cutlass

The dark, quiet ocean was dead. There was hardly a breeze, and the wine water almost as flat as glass until Zerra threw in a stick just to mess it up.

“He made me wait here… Again,” Zerra huffed.

While she liked helping Boss rob inter-oceanic banks, she didn’t like waiting for them to come around. She had to sit and watch, tapping her fingers against the sides of the cutter-class miniship.

“Any minute now…” she pouted. She’d been upside down for about twenty minutes, with her legs over the chair and blood rushing to her face with rusty binoculars that combed the still ocean waters. There wasn’t much wind, so the cutter would be able to catch up with the Bank-owned Galleon that has been rowing itself with oars for the past couple of hours.

Her lithe legs in the air, that were covered by two different colored stockings: one leg black and the other purple, waved through the fresh, salty, warm night air. She was DYING of anticipation.

“UGHHHH… oh?” She spotted a light in the distance, it was the Bank! Zerra cackled “OH this will be good. Petty little cannons. They shouldn’t pose much of a threat if she steers towards the corner where they’re not pointing. Boss should be stowed on board already, I can’t wait to try out the new toy he gave me.

Zerra took out a small brown box and opened it once again to make sure that the gadget was still inside. She still wasn’t completely certain what it would do, but she was told when and where to use it, and that lots of colors would come out! Exciting! Putting on her goggles, she steered the cutter to begin to follow it slowly.

Skills/Magic/Talents: Strumming a song on her half-harp can inspire a friend with confidence
Demeanour: Her dark eyes seem to have silent thoughts behind them, seeming more mature than her age suggests. but she can be lighthearted, especially when dancing. Lyra is a thorned rose. While charming and inviting, if you get too close, you'll probably get hurt. She's aware of her personality and is not sure how to change it, nor does she have the urge to want to.

History: Lyra is poor, but she seems to trick nobility into thinking she's one of them by dressing, acting, and perfuming like them. Every month or so, she'll have a new suitor that's some noble's son, doting her in expensive gifts. Unlike other real noble's daughters, the gifts are all Lyra has to live off of. Dresses, perfumes, ointments, jewelry: She either sells them or uses them to lure money out of other rich people.

She had a past of conning people out of their money, but she's decided to try to leave that in the past as she's gotten into some trouble for it. She changes locations often, and usually goes by a new name with different people she meets.

She is usually given a place to stay by her suitor, typically a luxury apartment with a bellboy where guests leave a calling card on a tray and ring a bell in order to visit her.

Side notes: During combat, I'm okay with sitting in the background strumming, so no direct turn for me would be required unless Lyra is attacked. With GM approval.

Name: Shiya
Species: The Shian are a cute, short, jelly-embodied species that have a few legs that can slowly take them wherever they please. Their body is shaped like a droplet, their googley cheerful eyes carry a sentience that is preserved within.

Government Type: Oligarchy
Description of Technology:(What your Technology is based off) The technology of the Shian is that of minimal energy expenditure. They have optimized their energy use to contain almost all of it within their colony-class starships. They are a race that solely gazes upon the universe. Self-contained, and content, they keep to themselves. They exist in elusive paradise-like eco-ships and have minimal contact with the outside world. Inside of their ships are flora, fauna, planned cities. Their waste management systems include re-using almost all of it.

The computer terminals use a liquid energy that flows throughout the ship in veins. It's easy to splash in the "ethereal computing juice" as they call it and splash data in someone's face.

Description of Culture: Without a home planet, the Shian make their home in the stars. They have many symbols that relate to Jelly in all sorts of forms and fashions. Their temples to the deity of jelly imperiously holding a golden plate is the symbol of their religion. Status is dependent on the rarity and color of the jelly one has on display in her home.

Paradise isn't so perfect when you can't move away from your neighbors. Although it is possible to transfer between star-ships, that would involve a lot more energy than the Shian are willing to spend, and being shrewd with their energy, they are likely to decline move-requests. So it's better to just move to the other side of the ship and pretend to not see each other than it is to actually move away. But thankfully most people like each other! Most.

History: The history of the Shian homeworld is written in the data juice and can be accessed from any library terminal.

Flag: The flag has seven stars, equally displaced throughout a white background with a circle on the bottom right, the symbol of their lost homeworld.

Military (OPTIONAL): No military, but the Shian can avoid conflict with their elusive ships.

I learned about this website today. I've been roleplaying for about four years.
I'm a GM for an ongoing game of Numenera.
LARPing is my favorite form of RP but it's expensive.
I've been a member of the Minecraft Roleplay server World of Altera but lately haven't been able to coordinate being online at the right times with my schedule.
I'm in college for Computer Science.

I have a lot of roleplay ideas for what I'd like to roleplay! Most of it can be summed up by looking at my Pinterest Board, because I want to role-play ALL of it.

I read this rules section and it seemed too short to be true. Is there another rules section that's longer or are those really the only rules?
