I'm really into music and such and I was wondering what other people liked here. You can say specific albums, artists, genre's etc.

Me, I pretty much will listen to any genre of music without much discrimination. As well, my music taste is constantly changing and I can never really clamp it down as to what I like forever. There's a chart I made for 4chan of some of my most recent favourite albums so I'll post them here right now and talk about them a bit.

Battles - Gloss Drop: Described by some to be Prog-Pop but it's really more experimental rock. It's mostly instrumental although there are some guest vocals on a few tracks. All in all I think it's really interesting and if you're looking for something off the beaten path that isn't too weighty then you can't really go wrong with this one.
Neutral Milk Hotel - In The Aeroplane Over the Sea: Fuzz folk and probably my favourite album. While the instrumentation isn't the most interesting thing ever (Though there are some great moments on the album) Jeff Mangum can write some of the most beautiful and poetic lyrics ever. The lyrics and just fantastic and even though Jeff's singing isn't what is normally seen as great it just really works on this album, as if his limitations make it all the more interesting.
Giles Corey - s/t: Again, another kind of weird one. Described by most as avant-garde folk I think it fits pretty well. It's really dark with sort of sparse (But great) lyricism. It's not really good in every mood but if you're up for something a little weird and dark then you should listen to this.
Sleater-Kinney - Dig Me Out: Sort of a Post-Riot Grrrl punk album. I can't really explain why I like it as much as I do but I just think it's really great.
Dinosaur Jr. - Farm: One of the newer Dinosaur Jr. albums, sort of grunge type music which is pretty self-evident because they are one of the progenitors of the movement. It's really good with some absolutely amazing guitar (I mean it's J Mascis so of course) and just a great sound overall.
Mac DeMarco - 2: This guy is getting relatively big and for good reason. He makes jangly pop type stuff and it's just really good and really chill. Not something that requires a whole lot of thought but he can play guitar really well and he makes really catchy music
Elliott Smith - s/t: In contrast to Mac DeMarco, Elliott Smith is a singer-songwriter that is really sad but pretty much fantastic in every way. I had a really hard time choosing between this and Either-Or because both are really good. Even though Either-Or has my favourite Elliott Smith song on it (2:45 AM) I just chose this one because I think it's a better album. Though like I said, it was really close.
Peeple Watchin' - Somethin' ta Tell Ya: Queercore punk rock. The singer is an MtF transgendered person so most of the songs are focused around issues involving being transgendered or even just being part of the LGBTQ+ spectrum. I really like the lyricism on the album and the singer is just so emotive that it works well cohesively.
Electric Wizard - Dopethrone: Stoner/Sludge metal. This is an album that must be played loud, the lyrics are almost completely buried in the amount of distortion that is on this album and it just feels like a really heavy album with slow moving riffs and really screamed vocals that just work overall in creating an experience. If you want some metal then this is what you should be looking at.
Swans - Love of Life: Swans are a very varied band. Their early stuff is really industrial no wave which is basically just Michael Gira screaming over it without a whole lot that I personally liked with it (Though I can appreciate what they were trying to do with it), Love of Life goes for a more gothic folk/rock stuff with some other elements interspersed throughout the album. It's really varied and I like that a lot, and I just personally really like the gothic sounds. Even the interludes sound good and really add to the album as a whole.

Anyway, I'd like to hear what you like to listen to and such, don't need to be anything like mine, but this is just a thread to discuss what kind of music you like.

Note to Self: Don't listen to Elliott Smith late at night when you already aren't feeling very great emotionally.

Rich went with P-J to the entrance way, seeing only one bag there he got a little disappointed. Though everyone called him a slacker back on campus, he did genuinely want to help even a little bit here, but it seemed he would get the dead weight label yet again. He decided to still stick around in order to see if P-J would need any help anyway.

He listened intently to P-J telling his story. The first thing that struck him was the amount of siblings that he had. "Your family is huge. I've only got a sister, Kathrin. She's really smart, and wicked on bass." He said with a small chuckle. He then heard the part about jailtime and ostracism and felt bad for him. "Are you serious? I don't think anyone would be that harsh over some food poisoning. Like I get it, food poisoning is bad and stuff, but, like, I don't think it really warrants jailtime or 1-2 months of the silent treatment. I dunno, just seems like an honest mistake to me."

Though Rich laughed when P-J brought up Springsteen. "I gotta say, if I pulled over Springsteen I'd let him off with a warning too, doesn't seem like the kind of guy you'd want mad at you."

It was then that Rich saw a woman he had not yet seen, though she seemed to know his name. She was asking if he could carry her stuff and he finally knew that this was when he could get away from the slacker label at least for a little bit. "Sure, no worries." He said with a grin as he walked down the stairs and picked it up. It was a little heavy, but nothing he couldn't get through. And of course it was probably only heavy for him because he didn't really work out at all or anything. To most other people it probably wouldn't faze them in the slightest. He walked back up to P-J and continued up the stairs.

"Yeah, I feel kinda guilty to be honest." Rich said to P-J about Dai's situation. "Like, I know if a bunch of people showed up at my place that I didn't know I'd be pretty freaked out, but yeah like you said, sometimes you just have to go with the flow." Rich smiled at P-J when he started discussing music. "Yeah, I brought it along for a bit of practice and if anyone wanted to hear a bit. When I'm with my band we usually play upbeat surf and grungy type stuff, but when I'm solo I'll still play a bit of that stuff, but I'll usually play more mellow stuff like J Mascis, or Mac DeMarco, or Elliot Smith. But hey, if you wanna hear some Springsteen I think I could play some of his stuff." He said with a grin.

When Dai walked in looking panicked, Rich decided he should help out somehow. Though the only things he knew how to cook were macaroni, instant ramen, and toast so he wouldn't be of much help on the cooking front. When P-J got his note returned from Dai, Rich read it from behind him before asking "Are you going to need any help with that? Or should I try to find something else to help with?" It didn't really seem like it was all that much to carry, but Rich didn't really want to seem like too much of a dead weight, and he did feel bad for just barging in with a dubious invitation, even if he wasn't the only person to do so.

Richard heard the door open again and rolled over to face the door way. He smiled at the newcomer as Dai introduced her to everyone and Richard waved lazily at the woman he now knew as Raven. Another name Richard thought was nice, however it did remind him of a specific short story written by Edgar Allen Poe, though he couldn't quite put his finger on what it was, probably The Tell-Tale Heart. So many new names to remember on this trip how could Richard ever keep track of them all.

Richard decided that he should probably get up to get the supplies he had packed for the trip and bring them inside. After a few moments of mentally preparing himself to get up, he decided it would probably just be better if he rolled off the couch. He hit the ground with a moderate thud and a groan before he picked himself up and rubbed his arm, which had hit the ground first. It didn't really hurt at all, but he wasn't exactly someone with a high pain tolerance so it did sting a little but that would pass. Taking a mental note to not do that again even if he was feeling particularly unmotivated to move.

He made his way out the door and towards his car until he opened the passenger's seat and took out his SG and amp which he proceeded to bring inside post-haste and place beside the couch he was taking. He then went back out and opened his back of clothes which was almost full, he took the blanket and pillow he had just laying around on the seat and attempted to fit them into the duffle bag with moderate success. The bag could almost be closed all the way, except for one end where about 3 inches of zipper remained open. He brought it in and put it beside the guitar and then made his way towards the kitchen. Richard opened the fridge and took out a bottle of water and leaned on the counter across from P-J. "Hey." Richard said with a smile.

Richard could understand how uncomfortable Diana, whom he now knew as Dai, must have felt, if a ton of people he didn't know showed up at his apartment without his knowledge, he wouldn't really know what to do either. That being said, Richard's apartment was only slightly smaller than the area he could immediately see when he looked into the house so it wouldn't exactly fit the amount of people that were showing up uninvited here. Still, it made him feel a pang of regret of not even bothering to learn anything about the set-up here before showing up as he could have at least made some attempt to tell the host he was going to be coming along.

At of that was forgotten though the moment he stepped into the "cabin". He looked around and only two words could come to his mind. "Holy shit" He said a bit louder than he expected it to be. This place was huge, Richard had never seen so much space that could still be considered interior. He knew that this was an expensive place but he never thought that there could be someplace so expansive. To him expensive was a studio apartment in Manhatten with floor to ceiling windows and modern design choices, not a castle in the wilderness. He ran his hand through his hair before turning his attention back to Dai, who was giving instructions on how the rooms would be arranged. While a bed seemed nice, Richard didn't want to take it away from anyone else and the couches in this house look super comfortable anyway.

He looked at Dai and simply said "You've got an amazing place here..." before he saw the man he knew as Kevin and the girl with the nice name, Calliope, both pick spots. Not wanting to be left without one Richard decided to use this opportunity to spring into action and grab a good sleeping area. And what is really meant by "Spring into action" was for Richard to slowly walk over to a couch in the same general region as the other two and flop down face first onto it. Muffled by the cushions he said "I hope no one minds me taking this couch." He felt like he could fall asleep right then and there, it was more comfortable than his bed at home for sure, and his car that he would sleep in from time to time. Thinking of the car brought a sudden pang of realization him and he let out a loud "Ugggggghhhhh" sound with his face still buried in the cushions. He still had all his stuff in the car even though he felt so comfortable just laying here. He'd have to at least get off at some point to bring it all in.

Sorry if my last post is really long-winded or that it repeated too much, I was trying to sort of get Rich's thoughts across as the events transpired.
