Why not. I could get down for some rap battles with space-time rifts.

Question: If I did win a rap battle with a rift, what would happen?
Sweet. If we get five more people then I'll make this an actual role-play. Feel free to post a character skeleton here while we wait, or don't. I don't really care, and I'd be interested in seeing what you come up with.
People get bigger over time when we have ideal conditions.
Renan noticed that the bear guardian and the panther were staying outside of the grotto. No matter. He dismissed the crow with the thought, Go. Be with them. Make sure that they don't get into trouble. With this the black bird flew back out of the grotto and landed on the panther's back, taunting it. It would soon fly onto the bear and do the same.

Meanwhile Renan, noticing that the girl seemed wet and cold, lit a fire the cave's fireplace, admiring the intricately carved mantelpiece with the insignia of a bear in the centre. He turned, and headed for a pile of leather scraps that lay near a workbench, picking up a load and placing some on each of four stone beds as a makeshift mattress and blanket. After doing this, he walked to the stone shore of the grotto and whistled up out of the trapdoor, beckoning to the large boy and fragile girl. Following this he approached the brown hairs girl and asked her name.
Steve had grown tired of pestering the other guardians, and began to swoop through the forest. As he began to fly in higher, wider circles, he noted two things. To the far northeast, there was a governmental outpost designed to function as a makeshift barracks. Upon coming back to earth to inform Renan of this, he once again encountered the boy with the eagle, pausing for a moment to look at the eagle before flying back to the grotto's entrance.

You live in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, a bustling city where your individuality means nothing. People go to work, people become millionaires, people are murdered, and no one cares. This is a city where you need to look out for yourself, and do your job. It's just a bunch of drones, mindlessly going about their business, fitting in with the crowd.

You are different. Everyone is born with some sort of psychokinetic ability, but you stand out. You know about yours, and you can control it. Well, you can try. Maybe you're an expert, and you know your ability inside and out. Maybe you've just discovered it. Either way, you are different, and you want to do something with that difference. Pyrokinesis, crystalokinesis, umbrakinesis, the possibilities are endless. You live in a world where almost no one recognizes their gift, and you're one of the few that did. You don't necessarily have a destiny, or maybe you do. The point is, you are different.

You have power. Do something special.
Rules:
  • Be courteous in the OOC.

  • Try to utilize good grammar and spelling.

  • Swearing is allowed, but not in excess.

  • No metagaming/godmodding.

  • Keep it within limits. You aren't a god.

  • Do not kill or seriously harm another's character without their permission. Also, do not control another's character without permission.

  • Try to avoid short posts. One paragraph ideally.

  • Before making posting a character skeleton try to have a bio already laid out. You don't have to post it in the CS if you want it to be revealed in the story.

  • Should this get off the ground, my good friend Brasslazer will be acting as both the police/governmental force within this world, and the forces of nature.

The girl had just climbed through one of the mansion's windows, and found herself in an unlit hallway. She began to walk, searching for anything expensive. Soon enough she came upon a room which, upon further inspection, was home to several exotic animal pelts and golden statues. A trophy room, the girl thought. Many of the statues were too large or bulky to fit into her backpack, so the girl continued to look through the room. Though it was dark, she eventually came upon a black safe labeled, "Stock". After several minutes, the girl managed to open the safe, but in doing so activated all of the lights and triggered a loud, piercing alarm. Reaching into the safe, she grabbed several handfuls of silver wafers and stuffed them into her backpack and pockets. She then ran back out into the hallway and leapt out of the window that she had entered, falling two stories. She landed on her knees, but slid for a few inches due to the knee and shin guards that she was wearing. She ran.

The girl had been running for several minutes when she finally looked behind her to see several men in suits chasing her. The girl had a significant head start, but was weighed down by the silver and would inevitably be caught unless she could devise an escape. She was still looking behind herself when a familiar voice called out her name. She looked up and found herself engulfed in a young man's arms, which held her tightly. The man asked what she was doing out running so late. Attempting to break free, the girl merely stated that she needed escape. The boy looked up and saw the running men, and looked back at the girl. His face quickly turned to disappointment. He let the girl go, but it was too late. She had only made it a few meters before she was tackled and restrained. The guards ripped off her backpack and began to search it, whilst also forcefully searching her pockets. When the girl resisted, they began to beat her down. The boy ran over and tackled one of the men, but then was pushed back and knocked down. The guard that had been tackled picked up a brick from the road and attacked the boy. Another guard got up and began to fight, leaving the other two guards to continue to assault the girl.

The boy was on the ground now, and one of the guards began to beat him about the face with the brick. Blood sputtered out from various wounds as the boy's resistance gradually became weaker. The man raised the brick high before striking down, causing an audible crack as the boy's head caved in a bit. He stopped resisting. The two guards then picked up the twitching boy's body and held the head in a nearby artificial lake. The boy tried to resist, but could not match the strength of the guards. His movements became more faint as blood seeped from his head into the water, dying it a deep red. Soon, the boy failed to resist at all, and the bubbles that had been coming from his mouth stopped. The girl was still held back as a pile of bloodied silver coins formed behind her. Her face a mess of blood and tears, the girl struggled against the guards to no avail. The two standing guards held the boy under for a few more seconds before rolling his corpse into the lake, leaving a trail of red ink on the lake's surface. The two then walked back to the girl and discussed what to do next. One of them simply looked at her agonized face and said,

"I think she's learned her lesson."

After a final blow to the girl's face, the men gathered the coins and began to head back to the mansion, straightening their ties and jackets. The girl lay there, soaking in a puddle of her own blood and sweat, defeated. She passed out.

A few hours later the girl woke up, and in a rush of emotion stumbled to the edge of the lake. She began to fumble about in search of a body, but found nothing. Knee deep in the water, the girl fell and began to cry. A few minutes later, she stood back up and began to head home. As she walked, she noticed a glint on the road. As she approached it, she noted that it was one of the silver wafers from earlier. It must have fallen under her back during the struggle. She picked it up and examined it. One one side, in the centre, the letters, "Ag." On the other, off to the left, the word, "SterlingĀ®." She gripped it in a fist for a moment before shoving it into her pocket and limping off.

In her sleep, Sylvia gripped her pillow fiercely, a solitary, anguished tear dripping from her eye.
Edited post for clarity and advancement in the "stray" group.
Paying no mind to the boy with the eagle, Renan continued into the woods. A few minutes into his walk, Renan came upon a tree marked with a Roman numeral six. He grimaced as he remembered what the symbol stood for, and he tried to take his mind off of it. Approximately a few meters in front of the tree was a row of stones, each a few feet in diameter, and a pile of sticks and leaves which he moved to uncover a trap door. He soon lifted one of the stones to uncover a hole that led down to a pile of hay in a trough. He dropped his sword, crossbow, and other supplies onto the hay before heading over to the trap door and jumping down.

A second later, a splash could be heard as he plunged into an underground pond that was fed by a small waterfall. Swimming to the stone shore, Renan looked around at the carved out cave that he had entered, and smiled before reclaiming his goods from the trough and lighting the various torches about the grotto. He then took a moment to look at the other hay troughs whilst hoping that the group would know to drop their goods before jumping into the pond. He wasn't particularly in the mood to play lifeguard, but was even less in the mood for a drowning. Tonelessly sighing, he sat on one of the stone beds and waited for the rest of the group.
FYI a friend of mine is thinking about joining and I'm trying to get him to join the military so that we can balance the numbers a bit more.
When the man on the eagle arrived, Renan was inclined just to keep walking. He was tired, and just didn't really feel like dealing with anyone else. But, the boy was armed and had a question, so it deserved to be answered. Without stopping his step, he pointed back to the neatly organized row of corpses and walked around the boy. Steve had been staring at the eagle ever since it arrived. Comparatively, the giant crow was small, seeing as it was only about twice or three times the size of an average crow. The crow chuckled.

    "Compensating for something?"

Renan smirked, and continued on his way with the small group, not inviting the other boy to join them. After all, there was only so much room in the grotto, and this boy had so far done nothing to deserve some of that space.
