Mechanics are in!
You can now get a better sense of how the Codex will work, as well as the way magic will work in-game.
So I'm figuring out variables for the magic system, and I've just realized that I'm doing algebra. FOR FUN.
I just want to let you guys know that I'm only doing this because I care.
NOTICE MY GAME.
Sooooooo..
Has anyone actually been in contact with the GM? He's hasn't posted anything on this thread for two weeks. I'm going out on a limb that he forgot about the idea.
I'm not in the position to be starting an NRP, but if one of you guys would be interested, I'm pretty sure we could get it off the ground real quick.
'Fantasy Europe' the basis of all uninspired fantasy worlds, (who crib from the inspirational Tolkien) would be fine. A mostly agrarian society, interspersed with cities would be fine. I'm personally a fan of having the kingdom close to or with access to the ocean. Maybe it's a Mediterranean ocean type deal, with the water surrounded by other landmasses? That way we could have a convenient excuse for wacky foreigners, they just came off the boat.
I'd rather do that, start as a young prince, and make our way upwards.

Murder our parents for the throne? Oh, yes please.
I'm irked at how you can spend a month crafting this beautiful, original world, with varied people's and cultures, complete with a solid concept for the game, and a fresh and fascinating mechanic which would make your game unique and fresh...

And for it to be ignored by the game who's entire interest check can be summed up as: 'LOL CYBERPNUK' or 'LOL ZMOBIES'
Are people uninterested in unique ideas? Do people like cyberpunk and zombies so much that they'll ignore everything else?
I've seen this happen to so many times, and I've been here for such a short amount of time.
I roleplay because I like stories.
And a story can be boring if you know what's going to happen next.
But a Roleplay is a story that has no conclusion, you don't know what's going to happen next, because the other people roleplaying with you don't know what you're going to do next. And the GM, who has the best idea of what they're going to present to the players next, has no clue how they'll respond to it. It's this uncertainty that is so delightful. An RP is constantly changing, with different people acting and reacting off each other.
Writing a story requires you to know everything that will happen next. Reading a book, or interacting with other media similar, (films, ordinary plays, videogames) is an ultimately fixed outcome. The book ends, the play finishes, the movie goes to credits. Even videogames, which herald interactivity, aren't totally interactive. All you're doing is inputting responses into a static system of logarithms, and we trick ourselves into believing that it's fluid. When, in reality, the 'hyper-openworld sandbox RPG with more possible endings than atoms in the known universe' only lets you do what the programmers thought you would want to do. Fable is a great example of this: it claims that you can do anything you want, and be whoever you want to be, but really you can only do and be whatever the game is coded for.

A roleplay isn't like that. Because a roleplay is a story that isn't finished being told. You can't know the entire story, because the storytellers don't know it either. And that's why it's okay that roleplays get abandoned. Sure, it's sad, and you'd like to know how the story concluded, but that's not the point of the story. The point of the story is to have fun.

I have no clue where I wanted to take this rant, so I'll close it here.
Finished my character sheet. Let me know if anything needs to be changed.

It looks great! No problem with it, feel free to post it in the character tab.
Let's stick with human, I think we all have some experience of at least roleplaying as one.
