Didn't fancy Hightower's assistance, Blackbishop?

That's cool if you're doing your own thing, just making sure you're aware that the offer is there.

I am really hard pressed. q.q I have to get troops on my southern border, I have to deal with a rebellion in the center of my nation, and I have to get speed up blackbishops conquest of amplesh so I can get lumber and start building a bigger navy.Edit: I edited by post and previous GA operations are still on pause

It is what it is. The dice gods do not take into account one's predicament, they just roll and tell me what NPC is doing what. Now with Bohaddon potentially under player control, I'm sure the two of you can work to an agreeable solution.

Will update the map tomorrow, it's 3am here now and I shoulda been asleep 3 hours ago. Laters people.
Joint-Kingdom of Belmorn

Bitter Victory

Erimir and Belmorn have triumphed over the Orcs of Elslen through both force of arms and diplomacy. Facing certain defeat before his very capital, High Chieftain Brakkar Fellblade accepted terms offered to him by Erimir's High Sheriff. This agreement has been considered an affront to many of the Elves of Hadelmere Hold, who are still reeling from the loss of over one thousand of their kinsmen - the biggest single Elven casualty figure in over five years.

King Dryadson will remain in the Orc state to oversee the implementation of terms. However, shipments of Elslen iron have already been arranged, and will be a very welcome addition to the materials available to Hadelmere's fletchers.

Jouria Invades

The border skirmishes taking place in the east of Belmorn have developed into a full blown Jourian invasion. Ten thousand lizard folk, equipped for war and determined for victory, have stormed over the borderlands. The human Rangers, though small in number, have waged an effective guerrilla war against their advance. Wells have been posioned, and peoples evacuated in the wake of this attack.

Jouria's army, headed by their King, Fek'Nassa the Grim, has already pillaged the eastern areas. Villages that were not able to be evacuated in time have fallen victims to flame and genocide - a crime that has steeled the heart of the human Queen.

The Fengarde militia, now numbering 10,000 strong, and quite possibly the only and last human offensive force in Belmorn, has marched to meet them in battle. Experts predict the engagement will be one sided, owing to the militia's lack of heavy armour and weaponry, and the Lizardfolk's battle hardened warriors.
"Who are these peoples?" asked Queen Alistine III to her Woman Attending.

"Warriors, my Queen, they are brave and strong. Some of the Emperor's best, back when he and his fathers occupied the throne."

"Are they honourable? Or savages?"

"Honourable my Queen. They fight the fair fight, and treat their enemy with respect," replied the Woman Attending.

"I do not wish to escalate this situation. However, with Dryadson's absence, and Hadelmere reluctant to respond to my pleas, we need allies. We can't win alone," said the Queen, walking over to the balcony of pristine marble.

"Shall I dismiss the messenger, then?" Asked the Woman Attending.

Queen Alistine III shook her head. Now was the time for strength, and for leadership. No doubt, her father would have rallied 30,000 good men to his cause, and marched to meet his enemy in head-on combat. However, things being what they were, and she being a woman, she could not expect to command even half that number.

"Send him with my love, and this message," she said, handing the Woman Attending a freshly written letter.

Hey, sorry to try and jump in at the very last moment, but this RP looks quite interesting. I quickly posted a WIP in the nation sheet thread just to claim a region, but I submit to any admin's decision to kick me out/move me/tell me to change anything about my sheet. As you can tell be the sheet I posted, I would very much like to join as goblins in region A7, because the setting and that particular province fit perfectly for me to play the continuation of a long-running nation of mine (I can send you links to the now-dead forums in which I played them, if anyone is interested). Basically, if your SyrianHamster highness would be so kind as to allow me, I would be playing something of a miniature Poland-Lithuania but with saintly orders as its basis of organization.EDIT: My nation's backstory could totally work with goblins not being an imperial race. All of the continental land would have been occupied by lizardfolk and/or dwarves under the Empire, only to be (re)taken by the goblins coming from the little island(s) in the region.

Alright, only I've had limited contact with that region (its south of my country), so I'll cut you a deal. You can be Goblins, you can choose your exports, but to fit in with the established lore:

- Your goblinfolk came from region A.12 (Telia, the only Goblin state at present).

- They fled the war-torn region either from persecution, or because they wanted to start anew, free from the constant bloodshed.

- They landed at A.7 with this purpose, and allied themselves with a local deeply religious Dwarf Cleric, and together brought the area under a unified government.

- Your population must accommodate 40,000 Dwarves.

- I can't allow you 300,000 Goblins for this background (as it would be a huge number, given your exodous), but will permit 80,000 Goblins.

- 40,000 Dwarves + 80,000 Goblins, unified by their religious devotion.

How does that sound?

If you want a Goblin state, that is purely Goblin and up for complete refurbishment, then A.12 is your best bet.
Foxy old pal, stay tuned to this section of the post, I need to look at the facts and figures before I let you join. I'll edit it within ten minutes.

EDIT: You're lucky, Bohaddon's army hasn't pounced, it was merely "mustering".

To take over this region, you will need to explain your actions to Bahapore.

Otherwise it looks good, and I have no problem with it.

*Bangs gavil*

Approved.

Edit no.2: You may keep bronze with your iron and slave exports. Also, it's Bohaddon. Bo-hadd-on. Not Bohadden. :)

no problem for me, ill edit my previous nation stats for the change.

It's fine, what population did you put Elthana at?

I forgot to make my Army Card. I'll be sure to make one later.

They're optional, but I think I'll use one because I like the depth and extra detail it can add. There's no standard format for it, but using a hider keeps your post from going BLURGHHHHH! at people.
On the fate of Elthana, would you guys like me to decide how much of the Elven population has left? Or would you guys like to take care of that?

I'm going to say that Elthana has a population of 45,000 Elves, unless this contradicts anything.
NPCs rolled. If anyone wants to know what system I use, it's all 6 sided dice based.

A throw a few to determine a region.

If the region is NPC owned, then I throw a single dice to decide 1 of 6 events.

If the region is player owned, then I throw a single dice to decide 1 of 6 other events.

Some of these events can lead to further dice rolls.

I wont list them because I don't want the magic to go, but just so's you all know that I actually do rely on random input to keep the world more... unpredictable.

Bohaddon Musters on Bahapore's Southern Border

The human nation of Bohaddon, and former capital province of the now deceased Empire in the north, has withdrawn envoys from Bahapore. Thousands of soldiers have amassed along the southern borders, and Bohaddon's small but combat-effective navy has taken to the sea. King Octavius, bastard of Emperor Almon IX, has done little to resolve tension and has officially declined all diplomatic dies with Bahapore's government.

There is widespread rumors of a coming war, and surely, the mobilization of Bohaddon's one and only legion along with its navy points to an all-out conflict.

Hightower Offers Orcs of Vanguar Assistance

Although the two nations of Hightower and Vanguar have kept rather cold relations of late, Lord Commander Cyril Gatecross, ruler of the Hightower Enclave, has sought to benefit diplomatically from High Chief Skar's dilema. He offers military assistance, in the form of Hightower's rather small but highly trained army to assist the beleaguered chief in taming his rivals, and taking the war to Amplesh.

In return for his army's commitment to the Orc's cause, the Lord Commander demands the following:

    - The release of all Hightower citizens from Vanguard slavery, and a promise to never again poach its citizens.

    - In the event of victory over Amplesh, Hightower is to receive access to the region's resources in the form of a trade pact.

    - Vanguar enters a 'non-aggression' treat with Hightower, that will last indefinitely between the two nations unless broken.

The army will be prepared to move at a seconds notice, and its details are listed below:

Right, RP is officially reverted. I've edited the military mechanics to include the following 2 points:

- Keep recruitment and maintenance at a realistic scale. The more soldiers you have, the more you need to pay for their services, and supply them with food. The longer therefore you keep an army in the field, the bigger the burden it puts on your economy. Keep professional armies small, to avoid economic problems. However, in times of war, you have full right to mobilize your population. Again, just remember that the resources available to you, the wealth of your state and your available food should all play apart in how long you can keep this force, and what quality it will be.

- Ships take time to build, and so whacking out a hundred in a week will be a bit beyond the realms of reason. I wont put a limit on how much you can build, but just keep it small, to reflect the working practices of the time-period. They took months if not years to build IRL, though, so we don't need to be super realistic - just no mass production. For example, if I was going to build a navy of 10 light ships, 5 mediums and 3 heavies, I'd probably leave at least a four game week period for this to happen. This is not a staple time measurement, just a kind of advisory to work by. I'll reel you in if I feel you're overstepping the mark, but even then I'll be gentle, I promise.
Right, time to dice roll some NPC nations to see what's what.
Okay, looking from the feedback I think the people have spoken. I'll revert everything back to its original free-form style, troop and navy caps are now void, and will be removed when I get back from foraging for food.

Army and navy cards look like they might add depth to someone's armed forces though, and as they aren't a system, I will permit them to those who wish to use them. They are not however mandatory. Post them under your nation status card, if you do wish to use them, or something similar.

Thanks for the input guys.

I don't think we need this, the nation status card is already a pain for me.

I'm sorry you feel that way, but you must understand, if you go looking at other nation Rps, every post is a wall of text, requring the GM to sift through it all to find all the details. Though I do read every post, after reading like 4 in a row, I'm left there thinking "Wait, who has what?" the cards are just a good reference point for me.

Do as you will with your navy, but remember that we haven't got any industrial machines at our disposal, and so our people rely on good old fashioned planks and nails to get their ships together. So build this force up slowly. Don't worry, you have time before the blackships make their second debut.

Thanks. ^^As answer for your question, no. The starting post will describe some events that might be important, but its the choice of your character to either make something up from that. (As most stated things will be rumours). After all, with the characters being limited for now in Awom, they might not care too much for what might happen in Easmar as that is a province too far away from their beds.

Lovely dubbly, I think I'll get most of it written out, and leave room to accommodate any information I feel would worm its way into an ale filled tavern.

Well. This isn't going so well.

Is being a foreigner that important? Surely you can reach into your bag of ideas and reroll a non-foreigner? Even within the 'limitations' (which, as far as limitations go, is far from actually limited), there are a thousand possibilities for an interesting character. But hey-ho, each to their own I guess.

Anyways, it's 2am over here in not-so-sunny England, so I'm off to bed. I hope you find a solution to the foreigner problem... which would sound really bad out of context. Laters.
