Hey SyrianHamster, is Abraham Ryes a rebel leader or someting? I'm asking because Mike is gonna meet the rebels in my next post.

Abraham Reyes

Reyes' Rebels

Detailed map of Mexico area

The rebels start mainly camped around Agave Viejo, which is where you'd likely find Reyes.

Ah well that's ok. I actually think Red Dead is only available for systems like play station and x box anyway. I don't think they make it for PC. But thanks for making the effort to read about it before hand :)

Yeah the game is awesome, spent hours online doing Free Roam with my mate. We'd go around killing trolls/player killers like we were internet lawmen. They were simpler, gayer times.

I forgot to add: WHEN YOU MAKE AN RP AND IT JUST DOESN'T CLICK.I put waaaaaaaaaay too much effort into that. To be fair, it was a reboot of a rp I had PARTIALLY done (the forum died before I could finish, oh and then the roleplayerguild died when I had players the next time I tried it). I secretly suspect Fallout isn't a popular setting, also almost anything sci fi. Maybe it was the plotline that forced everyone together inadvertently and seemed linear. Could rewrite it as its own universe separate thing...

I hear you there. The people here are hard to please, but so far I've discovered a pattern of interest:

Anime.

Zombies.

High Fantasy.

Vampires.

Steam Punk

Pokemon.

More anime.

Spaceships.

If you hit any of those, you'll get loads of interest. Even if your intro/1st OOC is a car wreck and barely legible. High fantasy is usually my strong point, because it's the only one of the above that I can blag my way through. Any attempts to create original works are generally rejected, or receive interest and then get cast to the abyss not long after starting.

Just my opinion on matters, so I ask any potential reactionaries not to wreck my face, for it is beautiful.

Though one more thing, and I'm sure it's been mentioned, but:

I hate people who barge into your RP uninvited, point out a logical flaw, historical inaccuracy or some other nonsense, then continue to argue with you over it. I mean, they're not even supposed to be there, so what's with that? It's rude, is what it is, and stupid. It's like someone just drove past you, and threw dog shit in your direction, before hastily speeding off. You've never met them, they had no part in your life, so what THE FU- I digress. Not sure if its an ego problem, or what, but hot dayam it's annoying and I wish there was a way of punishing them without sounding like a whining muppet.

EDIT:

Apparently 6 people is waaaaay too much for a RP! What's this? Two people who have been dying for this sort of roleplay REALLY wanna join? Well, fuck them! We can't let them join! 6 is too much and 8 is a whole fucking shitton! Even if they really wanna get in, we can't risk having this RP be overcrowded with 8 people!Honestly, what the fuck. I understand people setting limits in order not to make the RP overcrowded or anything, but holy fuck. I don't give a shit if you're gonna "notify me for future slots open", because 1. we know you're not, and 2. if we're that desperate to join, why the fuck would we wait?

To be fair, one of my RPs had about 8 people active at once, and with all characters starting in the same location, it became a bit of a problem. People would come home from work, with limited time, and have to sift through 6000 words. It sorted itself out after the characters split off, but next time I host an RP, no way in Hell are 8 people starting in the same place.

Although, this guild carries a 50% deserter ratio. That 8 I mentioned was actually 10, and I think it's degenerated to 3-4 now, despite receiving 2 new players.

I agree with you though, and generally speaking, if an RP of mine goes over the safe character limit, I will work out ways to have those extra characters start somewhere else so there's not the immediate post clog at the start. If the RP is a huge sandbox world, with everyone starting all over the show, then player limit is less of an issue.
I was thinking of a historian, intimately familiar with modern warfare. Not practically, just from an academic stand point.

Though now you've said that, perhaps a mechanic would be more suitable, or a former Coastguard (I imagine survival training would feature in that line of work). I'll give it a mulling over.
Nope, he's coming from the west :)

Ahaha, well that's a result then! I have no kids, so I have nothing but down time, and occasionally adult obligations, but I work to keep those few and far between!

So, I'm just going to jump ahead past the blaze and whatever convo they would have had.... Sorry it took so long. My poor kiddo is teething and she's been keeping me pretty busy.

Awwwwww, bless.

I'm surprised you have any time at all with a rug rat on your case.

Yeah, that, or just forget it completely. Do what you thinks best to get you out of there.
May as well add Evarado to this sinking ship, see if I can't give it a kiss of life. I'll be spearheading the defence of El Presido with the remnants of the Mexican army, if the GM will let me.

Character sheet:

Name: El Capitan Evarado Anselmo

Age: 54

Gender: Male

Weapon: Mauser Pistol

Affiliation: 21st Infantry Company, Mexican Army

Horse: Quarter Horse

Bio:

Evarado is the corrupt commander of the 21st Infantry Company of the Mexican Army. He is known as a ruthless individual, putting down rebels with an iron fist. He has been brought to northern Mexico to help bolster the existing military, as it fights against Reyes' Rebels. Although, upon arriving with his soldiers, he soon realised that the civil war had taken a rather dark turn.

He first came across the town of Chuparosa, to find the inhabitants fighting each other in a chaotic melee. His soldiers promptly restored order, slaughtering any that put up a fight against them - but not before they witnessed the cannibalistic mannerisms of those they were suppressing. No sooner had Evarado restored the peace, than a swarm of enraged civilians stormed into the town. He saw first hand his men being pulled from their saddles by blood soaked fingers, and they screamed as jaws snapped down on their flesh.

Realising he was facing some kind of wide scale revolt, he ordered a retreat, taking off for El Presido. Along his way, he gathered shattered groups of the Mexican Army, and it was from them that he gained knowledge of the situation: the dead were rising, and killing the living. When it came to self preservation, Evarado excelled, and he immediately abandoned the civilians of Nuevo Paraíso to their fate.

Arriving at El Presido, he found that the fort had been overrun. A bloody battle ensued, but eventually, the Mexican Army was victorious. He ordered the gates blockaded, and posted his men on the walls. Though out in the wilderness, he could hear them, the dead, shambling towards his fort. He didn't know if he and his men had enough bullets, but he wasn't one for giving himself up. With grim resolve, the shattered remnants of the Mexican Army prepared for their final stand.

Also, if you guys look at the characters, you'll see one named Maurice Sullivan, who is my second character. I was thinking that I would bring him in later when things get more intense. What do you think?

Looks cool to me.
Vida es Barata

El Presido, 21st Infantry Company’s base of operations.

“I will ask you again, Señor,” said Evarado, irritably. “Where is the one known as Abraham Reyes?”

“Fuck you!” spat the prisoner through broken teeth. “I’ll never help you murderers!”

Evarado sighed as he nodded at the pitiful creature before him, “I respect your loyalty.” He sat himself down on a simple wooden chair, and waved his hand at Sergeant Manuel. “Again.”

Sergeant Manuel shoved the hot iron into the man’s face, scorching flesh. The resulting scream was deafening, as the prisoner struggled against his restraints, twitching and squirming. Not satisfied, Evarado gave Manuel the go ahead for a second jab. Another animalistic, soul shattering scream echoed throughout the interrogation room of El Presido.

“The sooner you talk, the sooner this ends, amigo,” Evarado said, standing up and walking over. “Tell me where this Reyes fellow is, and it’ll all be over.”

No words were forthcoming, and Evarado had wasted enough of his time with this roach. He pulled out his Mauser, aimed and fired. The prisoner’s head shot back, blood and brain matter spattering the white clay of the room’s interior.

“Bring in the next prisoner,” he said, “and get this filth out of my sight.”
So, having a bit of an RP drought at the moment. How's this?

Fallout: Rangers of the Republic

War. War never changes.

When atomic fire consumed the earth, those who survived did so in great, underground vaults. When they opened, their inhabitants set out across ruins of the old world to build new societies, establish new villages, form new tribes.

As decades passed, what had been the American southwest united beneath the flag of the New California Republic, dedicated to old-world values of democracy and the rule of law. As the Republic grew, so did its needs. Scouts spread east, seeking territory and wealth, in the dry and merciless expanse of the Mojave Desert. They returned with tales of a city untouched by the warheads that had scorched the rest of the world, and a great wall spanning the Colorado River.

The NCR mobilized its army and sent it east to occupy the Hoover Dam, and restore it to working condition. But across the Colorado, another society had arisen under a different flag. A vast army of slaves, forged in the conquest of 86 tribes: Caesar's Legion.

Four years have passed since the Republic held the Dam - just barely - against the Legion's onslaught. The Legion did not retreat. Across the river, they gathered strength. Campfires burned, training drums beat.

Keeping the Legion at bay, are the brave men and women of the NCR Rangers. Tasked with covert operations, delving deep into Legion territory, it is they who stall the tyrant that would see everything they have fought for, everything they have died for, crumble into dust.

From ambushing Legion patrols, to sabotaging supplies and destroying roads, the NCR Rangers are the vanguard of NCR’s defensive preparations at the Dam. As Caeser gathers strength, so does the NCR army, but not at the same pace, and should the Legion strike now, their numerical advantage may win the war outright.

High Command needs time, and they need more of it than they have.
Mission Intro: Ghosts in the Night

One mile north of Nelson,
23:00

The vertibird whines to a standstill, suspended in the air as its ancient engines work to keep it steady. Carefully, but not without the swaying of clumsy hands, it settles down. The door to the drop ship’s interior falls open, slamming into the freezing sand of a depressing Mojave night. Out steps Ranger Captain Horatio Gibson, clutching his silenced service rifle. He turns, shielding his eyes from the whirling sandstorm kicking up from the vertibird’s engines.

“Come on Rangers, you want to live forever? Fall in!” He barks, barely audible above the sound of the vertibird’s near-deafening hum. “If those cock gobblers think they can walk into any NCR town and take it over without anyone so much as batting an eye, then they got another thing comin’!”

RP Summary

You play as an NCR Ranger, led by your Captain, Horatio Gibson. He’ll be dishing out the orders, but war is chaotic and nothing ever goes to plan. Be prepared to improvise!

The RP starts with the Rangers being dropped outside of Nelson by the army’s only operational vertibird in the region. Their mission is simple: the town has fallen recently to a Legion attack, and the army cannot deal with them directly due to a lack of manpower. The Rangers have been sent in to raid the town, with the aim of teaching the Legion that so long as they’re in NCR territory, they are not safe.

Maximum death toll, maximum carnage. When the Legion’s reinforcements arrive, the team is to be extracted, before being relocated to the next crisis point.
Reminds me of Freedom Fighters, loved that game.

Also Red Dawn, which was not a bad film in my opinion, just not a great one either.

Would I be able to play an Englishman? Discontent with his nation's bowing down to the USSR, he fled to America to live in the last land of the "fair and the free", only to be caught up in this mess months later? It would make my life easier, as playing an American gets a bit funny because of how we spell words differently FOR SOME REASON.

EDIT: Just took a double take on that Red Dawn book cover. Is the book any good? I've never read it.
