The Akatski are attacking the hidden leaf in attempt to get the many jutsu's that the hidden leaf village has protected as well as to bring the hidden leaf to its knees. Its plan is to overcome the hidden leaf, release the ninetails, and turn the hidden leaf and the nine tails on the other nations, to conquer the great allied nations and obtain tailed beasts. and its not a bad plan. except the hidden leaf isnt as weak as they think. Its everyones battle, and tsunade has offered a reward for every akatski member who is captured alive. they hope to probe the living/captured akatski members for any valuable info, and protect the village. not to mention stop whatever the Akatski is planning.
