He was referring to Sarina, and looking at Laurie. He only looks at people who can't see the future, otherwise he'd be caught before even looking
Are Hulkbusters being used?
"Pfft," Jay laughed at Steven's question as he took a gander of the medical bay, "why would I be watching my roommate sleep?" He asked him teasingly before adding, "you know who i'd rather watch sleep?" Before throwing a suspicious glance towards Laurie, the one mutant in this joint who could see more than him, making him a little nervous whenever he was in her presence.
I'd like to join in on this, do we use comic armors or movie armors?

Name: Jim Hammond
Aka: Torch
Age: Physically, 35.
Bio: originally designed and created by Anthony Stark and Phineas Horton as a prototype for several projects (including, but not limited to LMDs and such advances). Unfortunately, he had the unfortunate side effect of bursting into flame whenever he was exposed to any amount of oxygen. So under the belief that his appearance would frighten and dissuade the public from the two men's other scientific achievements, they made the decision to bury him deep underground within an oxygen deprived coffin.

Fast forwards to The Battle of New York, a crash landing Chitauri foot soldier found himself outside the city, and had unintentionally dug up The Torch's burial site. Contact with the alien technology awoke a sentience within The Torch and brought him to life. The two beings fought, and Torch killed the invader before heading to New York to protect the people who had once feared him. After the Battle, he was discovered by multiple SHIELD agents and brought aboard the Heli-Carrier. There he learned of everything that had occurred since his imprisonment, as well as the fact that his creation was partially responsible for the creation of Jarvis. With nothing to live for, Torch, decided to learn about his newfound humanity and push through his depression, finally giving himself the name Jim Hammond and became inspired by Captain America, who himself had been frozen in time, and realized his purpose was to protect America from those who wished her harm.

Personality: Jim Hammond is an easy man to anger and man that quickly succumbs to depressive thoughts, though that is because he was originally a failed experiment that was thrown away. He has taken a vow to never kill, though jokes about loopholes and that he has killed plenty of Chitauri. He is a cyborg in nature, and thus he has no need for sleep, food or drink.

Powers/traits/weapon(s) :
Flame and Heat Manipulation- When exposed to oxygen, his body is enveloped in flames that could burn a human body in seconds. He can also manipulate external sources of heat and flame in a limited capacity
Thermo based propulsion- by directing his heat signature behind him, Torch is capable of sub sonic flight
Thermo powered superstrength- by redirecting his heat and internalizing it, he can gain an increase in strength
SHIELD combat training- Jim is an excellent fighter in hand to hand combat due to training in a SHIELD issue oxygen deprived training room
Expect a cs for The Human Torch (android) to come up within a day
Jay walked in shortly after Laurie had, his iris colors shifting aimlessly as he x-rayed Steven's body for any internal injuries or broken bones, luckily he had neither. "Hey there sleepy head, finally waking up?" He asked his roommate jokingly, then nodded at Laurie, "hey Future sight," he said, using his own code naming for her like he did most other mutants.
Everybody questions life after death periodically through their lives, some people turn to one of many religions in anticipation of such an event. Everything and everyone dies, it's the circle of life. In our universe, the undead are fictionalized, and even dramatized with movies and hit TV shows. But what if the undead were real and part of everyday life?

Such a scenario exists, in an alternate universe, the history largely remained the same, but with a few teaks and influences by the armies of the dead, our present times could not be more different...

In this new world, when the first human being died, something within it's genetic makeup became heavily corrupted, and thus the zombie was born. Cavemen struggled against this apex predator, a being so unstoppable, so untiring that at many points could have been the cause of our extinction.

When the first civilizations were erected, and a language was established, there arose a force of man that dedicated themselves to eradicating the monsters in the dark. Eventually, they almost achieved their goal. Until the Plague hit Europe, knocking out 2/3 of the population. But we prevailed once again.

Such a curse almost swallowed America as well, The Civil War, though fought over slavery and the railroad system, also fought over the undead. Do we treat them as animals, and off them immediately? Or do we treat them humanely and with respect for the people they once were? Near the end of that war, there were numerous amounts of the undead, almost bringing America to it's knees, but we prevailed with the forces known as The Butchers...

Then came World War 2, played out the same as our own, but with several noticeable differences. Josef Mengele used his "studies" to see how far the human organism could go before zombifying, or how much pain the near dead could suffer before "crossing over". Those imprisoned within concentration camps were worked beyond death, using their hunger for the living against them, The Nazis built bigger, worse machines for death and war. Yet the allies prevailed.

Now cometh the divergent timeline-

In 1960, the curse is finally given a name with the proper amount of study: The Rage Virus.
The Civil Rights Movement for African Americans, also saw the rise of the Undead Peaceful Rights Movement, a grouping of uber-hippies who believed that a humanity to far gone could be brought back into the light. Boy were they wrong...

Fast Forwards to now-

Major Metropolitan areas are nearly gone thanks to the ranks of the undead, New York City got so bad that the bridges were taken out, and citizens were resigned to living in Central Park, while chaos reigned in the streets.
Atlanta Georgia is a wasteland.
Las Vegas is cut up into thirds, Livable, Warring, and Overrun.
The only Major area unaffected is D.C., now so well guarded it is thought of as the only safest place in the world, apart from Vactican City.
Paris France is gone.
London England has been abandoned.
Suburbanites across the globe now live in fear and gated communities.
The Rich 1%ers pooled their funds into creating an underground city beneath America, but most believe it to be a foolish hope.

God only knows what is to come next.

Welcome to the New World...
Before the cataclysmic assault upon the mansion, there was a young man who was a student there. Said student, was a young man named Jay Redmond, who looked normal and rather dashing, aside from his eyes. Larger than normal, and multicolored.

The week the assault occurred, Jay was scared near shirtless and dove under his bed, obviously not the fighting type when it came to an unseen enemy. Then it was over soon before it began, he was surrounded by rubble. The old days of dealing with homework and student gossip was over. Now was a time to rebuild as he was surrounded by death and rubble.

He spent the first few days since, using his power of all encompassing sight for search and rescue, helping just a handful to safety, and getting many more ready for burial. With each death, he got more angry at the unknown perpetrator, but he buried deep, when the time came.

Now, he was sitting outside the medical bay where his roommate Steven had spent locked under a coma. He stared straight ahead, his irises constasight shifting, signifying the use of his super sightas he watched Steven in the other room stumble around.

Crossing his arms he said, "well Nightlight's up," and began to stand.
Name: Jay Redmond

Alias: Eye Spy (eventually Big Brother)

Age: 20

Power(s):
Omni-vision/ Jay has the mutant ability to see anywhere in the current existence of Planet Earth.

Sub-Powers:
Multi-Angular viewing/ When Jay views something, he can do so from any angle, not just one from a human perception
Telescopic View/ He can zoom in to the atomic level of objects and beings
Retrospective Sleep System/ When it comes time to sleep, Jay slips into a retro cognitive trance. In the physical world this lasts 5 seconds and then he can sleep, but to him it lasts 24 hours, during which time he is viewing any and all happenings of the previous day. This helps him learn from whatever mistakes were made, he can help solve crimes, ect.
X-Ray Vision- not x-rays in the obvious sense, he can just see beyond any obstructions
Inhuman Occipital Receptors- Due to the amount of overloading stimuli, Jay's eyes are slightly larger than a normal person's, and the irises are multi-colored, they are constantly shifting whenever his power is in use.

Weaknesses-
Jay doesn't understand the concept of boundaries or personal space, and thus will invade another person if the situation deems necessary in his eyes
Also, in order to use said ability he must temporarily shutdown another sense, doing so will shift his personality
When he focuses in on a singular object or being, he will go into a state of tunnel vision, and to return his vision to normal he metaphorically must dig his way back into his own eyes
How long at the Institute?- 1 year

Favorite subject- Anatomical Studies

Favorite Teacher- Currently None

Bio:
Jay was a regular kid in in good ol suburbia, up until high school when he became aroused by voyuerism, and repeatedly got in trouble because of it. Whether because he was found peeking into the girls room at school, or slinking around and being generally creepy enough at night that the cops would come and arrest him.

During one stint in jail, his parents decided to enact tough love and sent him to a scared straight program. When going through a particularly rough cell block, a guard looked the other way while several inmates began beating into him, and nearly killed him, leaving him hospitalized. It was in his hospital bed that Jay developed his mutation, literally traveling the world without any restrictions, but his eyes were vastly changed and obviously different.

This caused him to be bullied even further, and it got to the point that his father disowned him for being so weak, that Jay began to study anatomy so he could fight back. Unfortunately, when he picked a fight with a well feared bully, who's parents were aware and tolent of mutants, Jay nearly killed the boy, but was stopped by a girl he had been looking at daily with his x-ray vision.

This was the last straw, and his family was evicted because of him. Ashamed, Jay ran away and lived on the streets until coming to Xaviers. Here he was treated vastly different from his old life, but it was hard to shake him of his old habits of voyeurism, and he would constantly get in trouble, which he didn't mind. Eventually he was found the perfect roommate to teach him humility and respect in the form of Steven Denzan
Relationship Sheet: Jay Redmond- Invasive/Analytical/Cocky 20

Sarina Saunders- Dayum dude, that chick is hot as hell in a handbasket, ya hear me? Don't get me wrong, I'mnot just in it for the looks, she's got quite the personality on her person too. F/N
Caleb "Bass"- Bro's got himself on the lucky end of the good lookin stick, much like myself. His power makes any party worth going to as well. Maybe he can be my wingman? F
Steve- Yo Stevie, what's cracklin homie? Guy's a sweet ass roommate, I tease him sometimes a call him Nightlight, but it's all in good fun. It's obvious he's got the hots for Sarina (to me at least), so I try and keep my "trips" to her as modest as possible for the guy, unless he asked me to "play spy" then I'd be all too happy to oblige. F
Aaron- Don't know much about this guy, though I've "seen" him around on occasion. He has probably the best power in the whole Institute, to heal AND harm? That's what's up. N
Heidi Williams- My personal knowledge bank, though nobody knows it. If we share a class and are having a test, guess where my eyes are? ;) N
Scattershot- I'm unsure if this dude, further recon necessary. Maybe a fist bump to break the ice? Pun intended. N
Chimera- Guy's tatted up man, that's dope! I haven't his powers in action yet, but the time may still come. N
Zhayne- The Z-Man's gay. No problems here. I heard it through the rumor mill, luckily I didn't see nothing in my nightly trips. *shudders* N
laurie- Lady has some kind temporal awareness. Maybe I should ask her how men's holding up in the future? Maybe I got me some hot chica for delicious arm candy ;) just won't say that out loud. N
Odin- guy seems shady. Further recon neccessary. N
V- I like how she gives Nightlight some grief about his fighting, and she seems pretty attractive. Haven't actually chatted her up yet. N
