There exists a world nearly identical to our own, with President Obama in office, Vladimir Putin making a mess of Russia as of late, The Royals of England have a couple of babies just recently born, and Kim Kardashian has quite the booty on her.
But there exists a major difference between this world and our own, and that is the existance of the X-Gene. A relatively recent discovery that grants mutations within it's host, giving them a wide assortment of random powers that could potentially harm other individuals.
For this such reason there is an ongoing effort by the United States Government to pass a Mutant Registration Act, so that the American people will feel safe in their homes at night knowing their new neighbor isn't going to blow up the cul-de-sac or so that cops can properly respond to a robbery without being attacked with lightning strikes.
But what the public is unaware of is the existance of a mutant prison that recently finished construction, a prison built to contain any mutant without cause or reason, except to keep America safe from inside it's borders.
How will the mutants survive such harsh treatment? Who will stand up for the little guy? Who will be there to save a city when another mutant is terrorizing it? The X-Men. That's who. But the How remains to be seen...

This roleplay will take place within as realistic a world as possible, and though it takes concepts and ideas from Marvel Comics, there won't be any Avengers, Defenders, blond guys with giant hammers, ect.
The Xtraordinary X-Men are a group of originally created individuals that either just recently became aware of their new status, or have been for a while.
The RP will start with mutant characters being taken to the prison. In regards to action vs story, I would like to see story and character development to take precedence. After saving the day, they hang out and do whatever it is they do, and learn about one another until the next threat arises.
Obvious rules apply, as well characters needing to be 18 or older (it would just be better that way). If sexy time occurs, take it to the pms. Sexy time should only occur though when two characters have natural progressed in a relationship to that point, or if they were created to actually take part in hook-ups and such.
I'd also like to have a co-gm, something this big shouldn't have just one person in charge, but two people bouncing their heads off one another, creating together and being in charge together. I'm not a dictator or a grammar Nazi, i'm a flexible dude.
Also, if this idea sounds familiar, it's because there is a similar rp idea floating around the internet on a zetaboard site, and rpgcollective that i'm a part of, but both are down for what seems indefinitely for some unfortunate reason. So I have to get my fixin's somehow ;)
